Bought a Ride Command xp1000 in September and love it! Be ready to spend another 5K in accessories. Windshield front and rear, Lighting, street legal kit, backup lights, 32' tires, tune and much more. Changed the clutch to a Duraclutch. You will love it compared to stock. Fosgate speakers are awsome.
I bought the $15,999 2021 Sport over a year ago and like it, I added 29 x 14" RZR take-offs for cheap, 2" spacers, half windshield and a roof. It does everything I need it to do, mostly desert riding and rock crawling. The price of these machines is getting ridiculous.
Golf clubs, snow skis, BOATS - any hobby sport is ridiculously overpriced. But if it’s what you truly enjoy doing in your off work hours the enjoyment can be deemed priceless.
With a sport you are limited to "play". Sport-utility you have the best of both worlds, "play and work". That's my opinion which is why I went with the General.
im still undecided on a side by side or ATV. I don't care which one costs more, it comes down to experience. This is my only concern...Everyone likes do the driving and rip thru trails. On a side by side, there is always a possible 3 people not doing the driving. Where on a ATV, there are more chances of getting that thrill, than to be a passenger in a side by side. If i was apart of a family or friend group, i would want more people to get the experience at carving out the trails, then to be just sitting there as a passenger. I think a side by side resembles more of a truck and SUV off-roading experience, because everyone is sitting down in a vehicle. Where an ATV resembles more of a dual sport bike, jet ski, & snowmobile. Because you are sitting down on it like a horse, instead of a vehicle seat And with that said, because of how huge the side by side market has become, i think it has kinda takin away with that small engine toy experience. Like you are getting on a horse and riding-off on an engine. Where a side by side leans much more towards a real off road vehicle. Riding a ATV down the same trail, it is going to be much more exciting than to be driving 3 other people around? What are your thoughts on my comparison?
Call me crazy.............but............. side by side OR a used Tacoma (Taco🌮) ? ? These side by sides are very spendy and you are now getting into a used Tacoma price point! ($25K-$30K+) And Tacos 🌮 are known to be one of the best stock OFF-ROAD 4x4’s out there(UA-cam Taco’s!) And it’s Japanese, so it will last a long time! To top it off, you can get an ATV in the box of a taco! And I would wanna bet that literally everything a side by side can do, a taco 🌮 can also do. It’s practically the same width! And a Taco can drive on the freeway at 80mph as well! I grew up in the 90’s and I was obsessed with ATV’s. I took a 20 year break with these small engines, and I’m ready to get back into it. Just in the last few years I finally understood what a side by side was. But you must consider my comparison. It makes a lot of sense to have a 2014 Taco with an ATV in the box. 2 very capable off-roaders in spring, summer, and fall conditions! Prove me wrong.
After 3 Rangers ,went with a 2022 General XP1000 ghost white....It's a BEAST 🦾!!

Generals are fantastic machines! Great review.

Sure is
I'd like see some videos on entry level model's every thing I watch is always on high end model's
Yes they are. Literally a vehicle payment that you ride once or twice a month depending on who you are. Absolutely ridiculous.
If people stop buying them it'll curtail that issue

Most importantly what is the MSRP on this as tested?
Thanks
Are you keen on shooting a test video in your spare time. About tie-down anchors for your general
Great review.
I love the looks of the General, but can't decide if I want a sport/Utility or just a sport SxS.

The rack, light bar, and color scheme is the only thing different than an XP 1000 deluxe with Ride Command.
I like my graphics/colors on my XP 4 Deluxe RC vs the Trailhead.
My only complaint....wish the gas cap were on the Driver's Side.
Apparently you have not watched other videos on this machine. When you lock into 4x4, you get 4x4.I have one and its real 4x4
Correct, not sure about older Polaris machines, but every one Ive ever owned is true 4x4.
@Uncle Dad Thanks for explanation, they all do spin and grip
It's time the general came with a full cab, heat and ac .
It can be added.
How is it for leg room im 6'4" long legs
I have a 2022 XP1000 with ride command, and my 6'4" buddy felt tight. He bought an RMAX, says its fine
