Thank you for the reaction. Intresting to listen to the finish and know it and at the same time listen to you. And its snowing today to. Greatings from Finland.
Really fun reaction to this lovely documentary. Tuomas is a genius and the Metal Mozart. But he does allow the band to have their input as well. Wonderful.
In Finland how you say "I" tells where you are from. Tuomas says "mie", like people who are from Carelia. But I could not hear the Savo region dialect in Marko's speaking. YLE, The Finnish Broadcasting Company, not long ago, asked people to tell how they say "I", and then made a map beased on the answers. In Helsinki, the capital region, we say "mä". In some other part(s) of Finland they say "mää". The official version is "minä". There must be a dozen different ways to say "I" in Finnish, maybe half a dozen that are quite common. In one of the later episodes of this documentary Floor talks about the difficulties in Finnish language, the big difference between spoken and written/official Finnish, and the different dialects. Floor lived in Finland, in Carelia region, for one year, 2014-15, the time when this album was in the making. She learned to understand quite a lot, but speaking Finnish is difficult. It is clear that they all speak mostly English when Floor and Troy are around. Most Finns know English, and that's why there are English speaking people who have lived here for decades, and they still don't know Finnish properly. I think the city of Helsinki decided a couple of years ago that all official services have to be available in English, in addition to the two official languages of Finland, Finnish and Swedish. About 5% of Finns are Swedish speaking. Finland was a part of Sweden until 1812.
What are you on about? I think you need to grow up and mature. Are you saying they can't be fans because they don't know the names of people who aren't even on stage performing? So, if you wear your favourite sports team's clothing, does that mean you should know every single person in the organisation? The secretary's name? The steward's name? The accountant's name? The guy who cuts the grass? Unbelievable!! ... some people.
Nightwish is an amazing talented band!
