When hearing the word "unity bounce" I suddenly realized that this game is made in unity and now im scared that it needs to be ported to a different engine now to remain profitable
Ahh, you are referring to Mecanum Wheels. Sick idea buuuuuut. . . does that mean you can't turn. . . like. . . at all? Perhaps they can alter functionality based on break and arms up inputs? Breaks makes you drift/spin in place. Arms up = strafe?

The checkpoint forcefields seem like an insignificant detail but they make the game look so much more polished! Tell unique to keep up the good work! 😊

Like, you are underselling it. Before, it was mario kart time trials. This update. . . would be like if mario kart didn't start with items. . . and then one of the later games introduced items. I'd argue that. . . this update. . . this is what GAVE zeepkist it's identity.

Related to soap wheels, a simple "No Steering" checkpoint would be great for map diversity. Just disable all steering input, keep traction etc the same.
I still say there should be a visibility toggle option for the uploader. Cheese tracks are funny. Plus. . . I can see those gates getting in the way of esthetic builds.
The only thing with the checkpoint fields is that the massive secret checkpoints don't work the way they used to. You can't put a map-sized checkpoint in that fools people in thinking where the checkpoint is, because the field will show it is giant.

This is how games should be with the game devs/creators. People ask/suggest and you put out updates. Every little thing lets people's imagination go further.
Make a bathtub map with bubbles all over that is open to fall out of, but scattered around it are checkpoints you need to do in a specific order. Scatter a few angle boosters and such around it and maybe have some obstacles around the bottom like a huge rubber duck, a sponge, and a bar of soap. Put a drain for the end.
So if you make a soap bubble track, can you make a sphere 'checkpoint' with a bubble texture, and have a bunch of bubbles over and around jumps and along the track that you then have to hit the right ones (ie randomized) to get the checkpoints through the map? Can bubbles be static vs just moving if so then that could work.

That is a KAN and yourself privacy issue, and I get that part and full respect for that. The same reason I don't upload engine builds, I do record for the person that got the build done, and send a DVD or two of the work.
Ball Wheels - Let you move in ANY direction. Sticky can also == mud. Can you do water? The air is more viscous so you are slowed more by it. Or that you sink through it, it's transparent (you could do some of that just by doing the not really there blocks), but if you have a BOAT wheels checkpoint (or inflated wheels, if you want to keep the wheels appearance) you can float. Maybe water flows like it's pushed by a fan, so you automatically move in a direction?
if now you can have those server messages on screen, would it be possible to sync those messages to each player so that one would display as they go through a specific checkpoint. you could write stories that way

Should just add in kart customization. Wheel selection, wheel bar selection (the bar connecting the wheel to the kart), kart colors, glowing paint Also, introduce a shop place, where you can buy Karts and cosmetics from what you earn from the tracks. That way people can grt the cool karts from the impossible tracks via coins earned from playing the tracks (online or offline). Because some awesome karts are locked behind impossibly hard tracks not everyone can do. Obviously, you cam keep colored named to be earned from their respective tracks, so people with the talent to do them can still show their skill
would be cool to see a tank tracks gate, not sure what it would do tho maybe add a gun for "shooting targets to open doors" sections but it all sounds a bit too complex
