Ive never seen you as anything but beautiful and gracious. I’ve lost 90lbs and I find it amazing how much people have decided that makes it ok to talk about my body! As someone older (63) i lost my personal style along with the weight. Following your journey weekly, I’ve really been able to reinvent myself in a style that feels truly authentic to me. I also love NYC so it’s fun to see the sights, the shopping, the food, the people and the fashion.

I overstand your privacy with health and weight loss. Love the restraint clip when it comes to personal style, which is something I struggle with. I needed that message on restraint and repetition. Most of us exist in a bubble (family, friends and coworkers - repeat) who could care less if we have the latest fashions or trends. So buying any and everything because someone is telling us it’s on trend or the IT thing doesn’t mean we need it. Not to say that you can’t buy things but be selective and personalized with what we buy. The worst thing we can do is buy things we really don’t want/need only to turn up looking like a clone of everybody else. Thanks for the videos and stay the course on your journey! 😊

Yes I definitely believe restraint is an important factor of personal style. I feel that using restraint enhances the ability to be creative with what you have and to focus on your true self. When there’s an overflow of pieces that do not speak to you, I feel that personal style is lost while taking on the style of others. And, great to hear that you are enforcing personal boundaries and protecting your peace. In reality we all can benefit from this IRL as well as social media. As I’ve mentioned before, I enjoy your refined content and will continue to support ❤

When I look back, I think I've had a pretty consistent personal style core, and come back to certain textures and palettes repeatedly for items that Ilove/wear a lot. But I definitely haven't always cared enough to honor it, and for much of my life prioritized convenience, price, fit then style, without much thought for how it would work with the rest of my wardrobe. I've only really begun being thoughtful about clothing the past 3 years or so. But I've also been learning to sew, whiched has honed my attention to style and quality and because it is a slower, larger investment for bringing clothing into my life and has made me more intentional. Love many of the pieces you highlighted! And I'm sorry to hear you've had negative comments--speaking about others' bodies and health unsolicited is reprehensible imo. I applaud you for your boundaries.

You are so incredible and inspiring. I have two daughters who were in jr high when social media came on the scene. There were way too many times that they were truly devastated by something posted about them. I don’t understand how people think they can say anything because they are hiding behind a keyboard. I think restraint and style is genius. As I got older I started buying just what I love. Now I have an outfit for everything and I love every bit of my closet. I was watching while doing makeup and I kept worrying that while I was looking in the mirror I’d miss an important pop up comment! I can’t miss a minute.
I love how you continue to encourage personal style and show us how to use our DENT. Thank you for that! I hope you blocked those rude people. I had someone comment “ you need to lose weight” on an old video where I was trying on clothes. I won’t say what my initial thoughts were and what I wanted to say in my response because it was at a level 20. All that to say I hate that people think it is okay to say whatever they want without consideration for the words they’re actually communicating. This is in no way a defense for some of the people that thought they were providing you “helpful” suggestions. I think people think they are being helpful but either way it goes when suggestions and comments are unsolicited it still gives the person on the receiving end a negative experience. I have been thinking about this recently and am trying to find ways to vocalize this to family and friends in a calm manner. I am mostly doing this for my peace of mind because they will say whatever ( nothing that it is mean) but i am aggravated for days after the fact just at the thought of the topic. I try my best to not offer my opinion if someone didn’t ask for it. Even asking questions in certain ways is a way of pushing/offering your opinion and people need to be mindful of that. I hope I am not the only person who notices this. I kind of feel a little crazy typing this out but I cannot be alone! 😊

I am surprised to hear about the comments on your weight loss journey. I often feel encouraged hearing about others progress because it motivates me to get moving, humans can be so disappointing sometimes, but we dismiss them and move forward. I always have soooo many things in a cart, as well. I love the flat boots, they both look identical, btw. I prefer a squared pointy toes boot, I feel that style has longevity. I absolutely love to mix textures and color palettes, with my outfits. Once I find a great combination, it will be on repeat but I also try to figure out how I can build on it by adding varying dimensions.

I am a minimalist dresser with lux fabrics with structured jewelry details! I am getting into having the bag the same colour as my coat. It , for me, doesn't break the visual line. I tend to think of silhouettes and shapes first and foremost. Proportion is a big thing. Also I love many things but must keep in mind I'm not model thin anymore. I am now a heavier hourglass, so I have to find a way to get a trend or two but keep my shape in mind. I am in the midst of that personal change you spoke of. I'm going to take your advice and isten to the podcast suggested by Erikaveurick. I'm so glad to have found you. I could listen to you speak forever. I overstand your privacy with health and weight loss. Love the restraint clip when it comes to personal style, which is something I struggle with. I needed that message on restraint and repetition. Most of us exist in a bubble (family, friends and coworkers - repeat) who could care less if we have the latest fashions or trends. So buying any and everything because someone is telling us it’s on trend or the IT thing doesn’t mean we need it. Not to say that you can’t buy things but be selective and personalized with what we buy. The worst thing we can do is buy things we really don’t want/need only to turn up looking like a clone of everybody else. Thanks for the videos and stay the course on your journey! 😊

Admire, don't acquire. That's a mantra I heard that has stuck with me regarding fashion and life. Because I know my style I can truly appreciate something wildly divergent from it and yet have enough restraint to not buy it...or at least not invest too much coin if it's just a passing fad making my heart flutter. Yes I definitely believe restraint is an important factor of personal style. I feel that using restraint enhances the ability to be creative with what you have and to focus on your true self. When there’s an overflow of pieces that do not speak to you, I feel that personal style is lost while taking on the style of others.
And, great to hear that you are enforcing personal boundaries and protecting your peace. In reality we all can benefit from this IRL as well as social media. As I’ve mentioned before, I enjoy your refined content and will continue to support ❤

When I look back, I think I've had a pretty consistent personal style core, and come back to certain textures and palettes repeatedly for items that Ilove/wear a lot. But I definitely haven't always cared enough to honor it, and for much of my life prioritized convenience, price, fit then style, without much thought for how it would work with the rest of my wardrobe. I've only really begun being thoughtful about clothing the past 3 years or so. But I've also been learning to sew, whiched has honed my attention to style and quality and because it is a slower, larger investment for bringing clothing into my life and has made me more intentional.
Love many of the pieces you highlighted! And I'm sorry to hear you've had negative comments--speaking about others' bodies and health unsolicited is reprehensible imo. I applaud you for your boundaries.

You are so incredible and inspiring. I have two daughters who were in jr high when social media came on the scene. There were way too many times that they were truly devastated by something posted about them. I don’t understand how people think they can say anything because they are hiding behind a keyboard.
I think restraint and style is genius. As I got older I started buying just what I love. Now I have an outfit for everything and I love every bit of my closet. I was watching while doing makeup and I kept worrying that while I was looking in the mirror I’d miss an important pop up comment! I can’t miss a minute.
I love how you continue to encourage personal style and show us how to use our DENT. Thank you for that! I hope you blocked those rude people. I had someone comment “ you need to lose weight” on an old video where I was trying on clothes. I won’t say what my initial thoughts were and what I wanted to say in my response because it was at a level 20. All that to say I hate that people think it is okay to say whatever they want without consideration for the words they’re actually communicating. This is in no way a defense for some of the people that thought they were providing you “helpful” suggestions. I think people think they are being helpful but either way it goes when suggestions and comments are unsolicited it still gives the person on the receiving end a negative experience. I have been thinking about this recently and am trying to find ways to vocalize this to family and friends in a calm manner. I am mostly doing this for my peace of mind because they will say whatever ( nothing that it is mean) but i am aggravated for days after the fact just at the thought of the topic. I try my best to not offer my opinion if someone didn’t ask for it. Even asking questions in certain ways is a way of pushing/offering your opinion and people need to be mindful of that. I hope I am not the only person who notices this. I kind of feel a little crazy typing this out but I cannot be alone! 😊

I am surprised to hear about the comments on your weight loss journey. I often feel encouraged hearing about others progress because it motivates me to get moving, humans can be so disappointing sometimes, but we dismiss them and move forward. I always have soooo many things in a cart, as well. I love the flat boots, they both look identical, btw. I prefer a squared pointy toes boot, I feel that style has longevity. I absolutely love to mix textures and color palettes, with my outfits. Once I find a great combination, it will be on repeat but I also try to figure out how I can build on it by adding varying dimensions.

I tend to think of silhouettes and shapes first and foremost. Proportion is a big thing. Also I love many things but must keep in mind I'm not model thin anymore. I am now a heavier hourglass, so I have to find a way to get a trend or two but keep my shape in mind.
