My gosh! I have been building crystal radios for years and I have never seen anything like this! It looks to be totally bomb proof. I have to commend you on a completely original idea.

*Thank you Very Much! I put a lot of time thinking on this one! Been tinkering with electronics since around 1974~!!!!!*

Really like the clean design and the use of magnets is way cool.

That thing is awesome! I've built three and all were fails. Once I thought I had picked up a signal but it ended up being some punk in his hooptie riding base.

*Thank you! You need a GERMANIUM diode, and Good Ground and a Long Antenna to start with!*

Attempt 1 included a speaker pirated from a broken small radio to avoid purchasing a crystal earphone. Attempt 2 disconnected the extra wrappings on the inductor and rearranging the connection. Attempt 3 had me in debt to the tune of 16 usd for a crystal earphone only to realize I was missing a 3.5mm earphone jack. Attempt 4 is a complete rebuild and is in process now.

And I failed to mention that I was trying to use the blued razor / graphite lead whisker diode. Germanium ordered since and is ready for the rebuild.

Good idea to make do you think you could sell these as kits to build, how about building a short wave radio, bet a lot of preppers would buy them

Impressive use of magnets! How did you do the lettering?

*Thank You!!!!! I have an antique hand stamping set, hammered the letters in then darkened them with a sharpie!*

I’m sorry, but you have not constructed a true crystal radio.

*Yes I have! The amp I built in can be completely disconnected, When you flip the switch, this disconnects the amplifier and the output is completely derived by the crystal radio circuit which uses NO external power!*
