Hard agree about Christ Illusion. I was so stoked for the album since it marked the return of Dave Lombardo but he seemed to have forgotten everything he knew about keeping things interesting by the time this album rolled around. As I recall, the ban was stoked by a TOI journo and part of a competitive assertion of offended sentiments with the Catholics who had been pretty chilled out until that point, jumping into the fray - I'd argue the covers of a lot of other albums that were on the shelves at the time were just as bad if not worse. Funnily enough, the 'banned' cover came back to the shelves, when thanks to the dinosaurs of the record industry mating, the catalogue shifted to a different label a few years later, and they were either unaware of, or chose to ignore the 'ban'. Since there was no one to stoke the flames, it sailed through and didn't sell more because it sucks than anything else.

Haha yeah I'd forgotten this was the return of Lombardo. The ban was quite surprising. Was it the first time a 'western music' album was banned here?
