So how does that work in the US? Is he never getting out then, or is there a way that they let him back out after he served some time. Where I live(a European country), life in jail becomes 30 years automatically, even murder. You can stay longer, but that depends on some details. The person who is serving the longest prison sentence currently is locked up for 50 years. He should be comming out within the next 5 years.
