Great video, keep em coming. I do have to agree having the water cups in the manger is handier, you don't have to walk through the manure to clean, work on, or check on them.
Really appreciate and enjoy the explanation and narrative you provide! It brings great enjoyment to show my wife as I spent my youth working on a farm. Now retired I appreciate the quality videos you generate and post. Thanks for your hard work and efforts! Best and blessings to your family 😊
Right now, I can hear Laura Wilson (Carlson) just going to pieces about how cute they are! Hard to believe that, of they grow to maturity, they will get to be big, brawling steers or bulls.
Great video. Great explanation how to take care of that calf in the first few hours and few weeks. I have registered angus and at birth if they don’t have a teat in their mouth within the first hour, I’m pushing that calf up under mom and getting him/her started. I can do that as my cows are gentle and trust me
Unlike other amimals, calves get all their immunity from colostrum so it is especially important to get colostrum in them before bacteria can get a start. If your calves like your grain mix, use that with calf starter concentrate to provide protein and minerals and save a few dollars compared to starter mix.
There has been a lot talk about avian bird flu affecting some mid west and western state's dairy farms. What are your thoughts? Best of luck in the coming year for you, your family and your farm's health.

All animals get their immunity from colostrum.
But other species recieve some from placenta
I was watching an auction on CattleUSA and saw a Holstein heifer 90 lb calf bring 990$ a black bull calf 65 lb brought $1100. Unbelievable prices
