I enjoyed how Olsen's character was initially seen as an interloper, an outsider not truly invested in the crime and yet, she proved her worth. A strong, well-written part for a female actor.
This was an awesome movie. Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olson are great together. Not to mention this movie touches on a very real problem of missing Indian women. There is also a lot of abuse of Indian women as well, but per capita, Indian women come up missing more commonly than any other Race of women in America. I personally know 5 families that have women missing from over the years. What is sad about this issue is how in most cases they will never be found and the families are not allowed closure and no one is ever convicted for their deaths. Some of this has to do with the Tribal Police and some has to do with who the names of the people that are accused of making them disappear are. If you have the "Right" last name, you can literally get away with murder. The level of corruption that can occur on an Indian Reservation is staggering. I left my Reservation years ago and never looked back. Living on a Reservation is a recipe for failure in your life as there are often no real job prospects and people have become accustomed to Poverty and accept it as a legacy. Not to mention the abuse of Chemicals like Drugs and Alcohol. This brings me to an issue that has made me very unpopular among some American Indians, (we are not "Native" Americans from the fact NO ONE living on this continent was "Native" to it.) But I often bring up the fact I believe it is time to dissolve the Sovereign Indian Nations and fall under the common Govt. for a City, County, and State. We have proven, even after receiving Tens of Millions of dollars in payments for the White Man "Stealing" our land and more often than not, that money has never trickled down to the people of the Tribe, that we are not capable of self-governing. It's time to make America and everyone one living it, one people and one Nation. This stance of mine along with a few other opinions, and the fact I am ONLY 2/3rds Ojibwe make me fairly unpopular by some. However, there are many more that feel the same way I do. On the Reservation, we are stuck in perpetual or systemic Poverty because it is just easier to take that handout every month from the American Govt. Another is a group on my Reservation that is attempting to reacquire all the land that was "Stolen" from the Indians. I attended a meeting of them once and asked them if they really thought all the land that was "Stolen" from the Indians should be given back to them. They answered my question with a solid and loud, YES. So I asked them then if we should give back all the Ojibwe owned land in Northern Minnesota to the Sioux Indians on who we had a war with hundreds of years ago and pushed them into North and South Dakota and also Southern Minnesota while taking all of their land in Northern Minnesota. I was kicked out of the meeting and banned from any further meetings lol.
It's despicable that having a last name gives a dirtbag immunity from arrest. Your statement about referring to tribal wars that happened ages ago ruffled a few feathers, LOL. But you were right to speak up about that topic.
Outstanding movie. Simple plot with subtle yet riveting character roles. The acting encompassed by the stark and challenging location combine to make this simply a masterpiece of acting and filmmaking. Few films receive heartfelt, thank you, without cascades of compliments flowing after. That is because alone those two words totally express the purity with no other words being able to express the fineness or feeling of satisfaction.
Truly amazing film. I'm all in on anything that Taylor Sheridan is a part of, from here on out. This movie has the best revenge killing that I have ever seen. Very intense.
The director thank u for showing light of this issue, the other two actors didn't know much. But the director thank u for this film and you work to bring minority communities into light and their crisis
I feel like that would've been too baked in. There was an interview where he said the big joke is that there is the white guy goes, "I'm part Cherokee" and I feel like if JR's character said that he was half, it just would've felt like that.
you know why we’re all here
yes i do 😩
yep
Yup 🙇🏽♀️💕
Lizzzzieyyy
Taylore Sheridan
This movie just proves again what a superb actor Jeremy Renner is.
The way Lizzie sits it’s cute 😂😍
very swaggy of her
Can't wait for this movie Taylor is proving himself to be one of the best writers working today can't wait to see what he does as a director
Deputy Chief Hale has coke a long way

I agree. Jane (the FBI agent) is how you write a strong female character, not the comedians in the silly stuff Disney is putting out.
Renner and Taylor are great but I can't take my eyes of Lizzie
DarthTurducken I love her laugh 😆

I really admire your words, nobody could've done it better
Well said.
Thank you.

Lizzi is so fucking beautiful ❤️❤️
I didn't realize he played Hale in Sons of Anarchy and also wrote Sicario. I saw this movie and it's a big 10/10 for me. It was brilliantly done.

Jeremy Renner is awesome. Just a real dude.
Jeremy renner's responses through this interview: "...uh'yeah" haha. Love this guy.
The director thank u for showing light of this issue, the other two actors didn't know much. But the director thank u for this film and you work to bring minority communities into light and their crisis
we all know why we here😀
yupp ;)
why?
Taylor Sheridan: The most handsome screenwriter in the business.
I respect the man, but he has that fake Hollywood look to him. The super-white, perfect teeth and the blonde hair on a dude who is so white he's red.
great movie
I found it
I finally found it

Let me preface this by saying I LOVE JEREMY RENNER. But he is starting to look and sound like the cigs are starting to do their thing.
Vanessa Thompson i know right? Like the frown lines are so apparent in this interview
I like how Jeremy barely said a word in the interview

Im the 28th person to comment in 3 years 🤯😮 wow so famous idk y im doing this rn 🤣🤣🤣
I loved wind river but I think that one of the main characters should have been native. They could’ve just said JR’s character is half native.
I feel like that would've been too baked in. There was an interview where he said the big joke is that there is the white guy goes, "I'm part Cherokee" and I feel like if JR's character said that he was half, it just would've felt like that.
Can't believe Tyler Sheridan the director appear in that boring gun laws lover show Sons of Anarchy.
"Boring gun laws lover show" What?
