The Doors channel is the official UA-cam home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.
It’s crazy you can hear the song being put together in all different ways
That’s kinda how songs are pieces together in general.
It’s really cool to hear these having grown up loving this band! To be sure n the studio during this would have been incredible!
they’re just jamming
It makes you appreciate the craft of creating an awesome song.
I Will never be tired to listen The Doors. Every song, every version. They are the main sound of the soundtrack of my life and I'm gonna love them till the end of my way
Welcome aboard ;)
Amen.
they had great balance
Agreed Wholeheartedly! My favorite bad since I was a kid! PERIOD!!! ❤️ The Doors!
@@coycoberly2163 moi 2! This band is the best ever in my book. My second is Lynyrd Skynyrd then Pantera. But to hear them trying to get this right is so cool! I’ve been a fan since 1971 when my pops brought home the Doors first album!
The Doors Is One of My biggest influencies as a Drummer.
Thanks! Jim
As a rock drummer John Densmore is largely under-rated and criminally under-appreciated.
That's lovely!
Say his name damn it
John DENSMORE
Ussualy, Ringo Starr & John Densmore, are my biggest influences.
Every version is like a different story, incredible.
The Greatest Rock N' Roll band of all of ALLL TIME .
With all due respect to the doors, I think you have overlooked the who.
@@joemannix7471 yes the who i like them but to me u know..... I prefer the doors
But the who were great too
In total agreement!
@@johnminster3205 yes sir....
The Doors! Ain't none better!
That album is the best thing they ever did. A band at its apogee. One of the greatest albums ever recorded. I can tolerate people who don’t like the Doors in the aggregate but if you don’t like LA woman you don’t know what great music is.
My favorite Doors album, also believe it to be their best work.👏🤟
Only flaw is in the track listing.
In my universe, the title track is the album opener.
When I was younger, the title album was my favorite album. Now, it's la woman.
LA Woman is a classic, but I would have to go with the first album as their best. I just got a ticket to the special addition Hollywood bowl film they’re showing in theaters around the country for one night. Really looking forward to that.
@@kris.Zee. I would go as far as thier 1st lp as being the best debut lp in rock history, know its a bold statement, but it is what it is. The best debut lp in Rock history. My opinion.

I agree.x
That intro, the way Jim comes in, I fucking love it, so many chills!! What an amazing album. I'm appreciating The Doors so much more now. THANKYOU for this!!
One of the best bands ever!
This is just a divine rhapsody that we have waited for suddenly.
Love the doors miss the doors I remember when Jim died a month after graduating high school still love this album the best Rock on the doors forever
An ad during the buildup to the “mojo risin” part completely killed the experience. Thanks a lot.
UA-cam said, “Lame commercials rising…”. 😆 Those economic lemmings.
Dude, 2 minutes after I left that last comment, the same fucking thing happened to me. 🤑 Tho$e ba$tard$!

The Doors Goat American Band of Rock and roll
My favourite Doors album and, in my opinion, their best. I've got the original vinyl LP in the transparent window sleeve and yellow inner from 1971, CD, original 5.1 mix on DVD-Audio (with a substituted different verse on "Crawling King Snake") and later 5.1 mix on the "Perceptions" (I think it was called) box. Used to play it at my Newcastle University disco in the mid-1970's and get out from behind the decks to dance to it with my GF. This version is rather good, if only a little different. Let's have a 5.1 version sometime!
Would you sell the record?
@@maxfreestyle5917 I assume that you mean the original vinyl LP but, in any event, the answer is "Probably not" as it's not worth a vast amount of money. I've bought The Doors recordings (including the later-issued "LA Woman" single and lots of bootleg vinyl and CDs) here in GB since 1968. I got a poster with it on purchase showing the image on the reverse of the yellow inner of JM crucified on the telegraph pole but unfortunately it got overlooked and left in the loft with my other posters when we moved 26 years ago. They Doors are my favourite band of all time. I managed to see them twice. Decades ago, an old girl friend had written to the record company and was sent a pair of tickets for their performance at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. I No doubt when I shuffle off this mortal coil (I'm 68 and retired now) my wife (also retired) will sell all my stuff as instructed but until then ... Meanwhile a M/Ex copy of the original GB LP surfaced many months ago on Eil.com for £125 (the first I've seen but that's the only site that I'm on the mailing list of) the only downside being that the yellow inner is a US copy and it's only valued at £80 in the current GB Record Collector Rare Recors Guide. It's still there at present so I suppose that you could point out that it's way overpriced and make an offer on it. There are also other sites like Discogs that you could search on.
@@maxfreestyle5917 In fact now that I look carefully, there are 3 copies, another at £125 but also a "Good" copy at £75.
@@LizardKingJimLA69 wow I envy you. The doors were just a few years before my time. I was born in 66 but I’ve been a fan since I was 5. I’ve seen over 100 concerts usually with 2-10 bands on the bill. But if there were some bands id love to see, Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Canned Heat, the Beatles, the original Stones with Brian, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Pantera, Bad Company, the Animals, Cream, Grand Funk, And many others. But The Doors easily tops the list. If I could go back in time and see one band that would be my pick. I do have a soft spot for Syd Barrett. That would be a tough one. But I’d still go with The Doors. Jim Morrison was simply too cool to pass up. Cheers!!!
@@robert.m4676 That's a pretty good list of bands and performers. I've got lots of original vinyl albums by many of them, e.g. all Lynyrd Skynyrd's (my German GF and I saw them (my favourite) with The Stones (her favourite) at Knebworth in 1976. We went down to the front of the stage for both, as we both loved them both). Todd Rundgren (Utopia I think, not solo), Don Harrison Band, Hot Tuna, 10CC and many others. Some of the great bans etc seen here at Newcastle were Eagles supporting Neil Young c1972/73, The Stones, Springsteen, Blue Oyster Cult (c1973 (nowhere near a full house and only a laser ring and strobed transparent drum kit for show) and 1975 circa release of "On Your Feet or on Your Knees", Bob Seger, Robin Trower, J Geils Band, Beck, Bogart & Appice, The Beach Boys, Fanny, She, Lone Justice, Lonestar, Osibisa, Steve Marriott, Robert Cray, Kings X, Free (3 times), Barclay James Harvest, Curved Air, Steppenwolf, Hall & Oates Silver Album + "War Babies" tours, Sutherland Brothers, Dan Reed Network, Foghat, Nazareth, Steel Pulse, Frankie Miller, Ace, Argent, Junco Partners, Global Village Trucking Company, Strawbs, Heads, Hands and Feet, Blues Band, Roy Harper, Kevin Ayers, Babe Ruth and Sha Na Na are about what I can remember easily.
Excelente versión 👍😎
I love it. The Doors hit something that nothing else comes even close to touching.
The Mr mojo risin part on this take is especially great!
This version sounds awesome!
How in THE fuck have I never heard this version before?!? Incredible. 😍
My first love in Music! 😍 I fell in love with The Doors when I was 15 years old. My high school boyfriend turned me on to them. I will never forget the first time I heard Light My Fire. Wow ✨✨✨✨✨ Magic. Then he played his L.A. Woman vinyl LP for me and WOW! L.A. Woman became my anthem song. Then there was one time he got to guest DJ at our local radio station where he was allowed to play the songs closest to his heart so I knew he would play some Doors. He dedicated Hyacinth House to me and played it.
I’ve always said I think I soaked up the Doors vibe in utero. I was born in June 1967, their heyday, right outside of L.A. in Simi Valley, so I think it’s quite fitting that I love L.A. Woman so much. I have played it in my car cranked to 11 while driving down a desert highway too many times to count. Heaven. My love for their music is very spiritual to me. ❤️🔥✨
Me to I was 10 yrs. mom & dad gone I'm in the Dads 1966 Buick Special backing up & down drive doing burnyes. NO FM yet am radio only WLS out of Chicago Just cranking come on babe light my fire Then seen them on Ed Sullivan Show ty for memories 👍💯
Plus only sound I ever karaoke 🎤🤣one time Sisters wedding
Totally agree. I was born the year after Jim died but I've been obsessed since I was a kid. There is no better music in my opinion. And I have/love his poetry. I feel his words in my soul.❤️
Every time I listen to the L.A. Woman album I appreciate it even more, if that's possible.
Beautiful live studio version. Raw, powerful and sad at the same time knowing this was their last go round together.
That's beautiful! That's worderful! That's lovely!
Best band ever.
Beautiful edit and all too needed on a blustery Friday in Manchester England... you parted the clouds...sending love always 🌬🌀🌼

Love LA Woman in every version
What a treasure! Made my day.
This version is out of this world.
Breathless
Miss you always jim 🕯🕯
I like this version better than the original released on LA Woman. The slower build-up & breakdown during the Mr. Mojo Risin' part is more powerful & sounds brilliant. Jerry Scheff really rocks the hell out of that bass. Thank you!
wow. how they pieced it all together to the final song in the end.
Genius just genius
Another lawst angel...city at night...city at night..🎶🎵🎩 So beautiful in my ears...mirrors. See tease at night, sit tease at night..🎶🎵🎩❤️❤️
When my uncle got back from Vietnam, I was about 11 years old and he gave me their first album, an original pressing that I still have… and when all my friends were into The Osmonds and the Archies , I said dude you got a check this out!

Wow this Mojo rising jamm added to L.A.Woman &city of night is fantastic in this medley. The drummer definately has no end roll.He just wants to keep goin.
This is rock n'roll
L. A. Woman is the song with the most exciting and challenging attitude The Doors have ever done. Superbly excellent.
Listening to these different versions is like getting to go to a concert!
Fantastic !!

Yeah ❤️🔥
Great take but I listened so much to the original album one that I still judge it the best. The dialogue between the guitar and The Big Voice is a masterpiece. My favourite rock song with Brown Sugar of the Stones. Quintessential ones.
masterpiece!

Who would give this a thumbs down??? I would like to give it more.
VIVA la DOORS!!!!
L.A. Woman (the original) is the ultimate driving song.
Nice 👌
The performances are a bit more spontaneous, “open” and organic sounding.
This is a great version.
1971 what a blast I lost my father 28June 1971 and lost theMojo man3july1971 two people that were inspirational and envied both of them in different and philosophical ways but I remember 71 two tragedies but one electrifying record..🦎👑
¡Vivan los Doors!
who listen to it now, today marks the 52th year since Jim Morrison passed away. RIP Lizard King.
