    I’ve had a lot of stuff from Temu and it’s great quality. Super cheap. Twigs stoves, molly pouches, storage tins, sporks, etc. American retailers really gouge you for this stuff. The only thing that wasn’t good quality was paracord. I do buy my cutting tools like knives, saws and axes from main brands but all that supplemental stuff is really good quality. I bought all my tarps, ground cloths and boys and stuff like that from Temu. Love it. Folks that are on a budget should do this. My buddy got his main backpack from Temu for 25.00 and I swear it’s the same thing you pay $130.00 for on the US.

    Saw you at a lake in Oklahoma last weekend. This is the video of yours i had watched and even purchased some things for my kids camp kit when we drive up to Colorado this August. Hope you ended up having a good camping trip.

    I enjoyed this review. One thing I wanted to point out however, with those "down booties" well when you sleep in the cold and if you are in your sleeping bag. You end up taking off your socks in the bag so that body heat helps warm up the sleeping bag. I would never fall asleep with those on.I think with those, They would be under my pillow,or be part of my pillow, so you can put them on in the morning warm...if that makes sense.

    cheers mate, great little video and some very cool gear I'd never think about...down booties, down hat....I'd like to say they looked cool, but let's go with the look effective. Never thought about temu, but will check it out given you seem to have had a pretty good experience. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the channel, I know how much work your no about putting in, subscribed 🇺🇸🇦🇺✌🏻

      Thank you for a great review video which i really enjoyed. I'll share some info about Temu and their camping equipment on it as well.
      Temu is a offshoot of PDD holdings (Pinduoduo Inc) a NASDAQ traded company, it's one of the largest e-commerce company in China, kind of their ver. of Amazon, Specializes in affordable but good quality everyday items, they sales to hundreds of millions Chinese everyday. Temu is their intl. offshoot, so they're used to dealing with huge sales volume at inexpensive prices. The products on it, are generally good for the price point, though some are better deals than others, along with few bad apples.
      Company like Naturehike is one of biggest Outdoor/Camping equipment brand in China, (kind of their Ver. Of Coleman) based in the coastal city of Ningbo, in the province of Zhejiang. As china became more developed in recent decades, their people became more affluent, Outdoor sports/Camping became quite popular there, if one travel through their National Parks & Campgrounds, will see Naturehike products quite often, hence the generally good quality. What we see on Amazon or Temu are just a fraction of their entire products line up, usually selling by a 3rd party e-retailer on Amazon, ebay or Temu, just as Toyota don't sell their entire line up in US, there's many Toyota cars we never even heard of outside of Japan, cater to their domestic mkt but not intl mkt.
      The World is changing fast before our eyes, China's Domestic Brands products quality are improving everyday, not just on camping gear but across the broad.
      It's similar to Japan went from 70s-80s cheap cars & merchandises to 90s-00s fair & fine quality products at decent prices. Pretty soon some will become internationally recognizable brands & dominant players.
      If 5 years ago, someone tells me a Chinese Outdoor Brand company makes the world's best ultralight titanium backpacking stove, I did say you must be joking, but now everyone seriously about backpacking heard of BRS stove.
      A brave new world we live in.

    • @royphillips5115
      @royphillips5115  5 місяців тому

      Yes I agree and i actually have several BRS products and Naturehike products. Im actually preparing to purchase a couple of Naturehikes new hot tents that look really interesting

      totally agree about China following the same path Japan did 30-40 years ago. Same with Korea and cars, I remember when Hyundai's first hit the Australian market they were laughed at, broke down constantly etc, now they are top shelf and at the top of the price range and sell like hotcakes. Great Wall Motors kicked off here 10 years ago the same way, untested utes that didn't;t pass the Australian conditions tests....now their new line is challenging the incumbents at 50% the price....in 5 years they will have it corners. Can't see why they would be the case with other products too.
      Not something to fear, it's just disruption, amazon will feel the pinch I am sure, but nothing they did not do to the millions of bookshops around the words 😀 @@linus631

    Most Chinese gear is more or less no name. Then companies check out the gear and pick the stuff they like and want to brand. So a lot of Chinese companies end up with the exact same pieces of gear.

    • @scottnorvell2955
      @scottnorvell2955 5 місяців тому +5

      It’s not forced labor. I’ve traveled to China for work and the only thing you’re eliminating is high retail markups. US retailers are selling you the same stuff for four times the price. Literally a lot of this stuff is coming out of the same factories. I’m tired of retailers importing all their stuff and then over charging us. That’s what’s really happening.

      @@royphillips5115 This is my opinion. If you make 20 min videos, people will watch the whole thing and likely come back to watch other 20 min videos. For an unboxing video, explain what the items are but not how they work. Save that for another video. For a review video, use the item for a while then explain how it works. This keeps your videos to around 20 mins and also gives you more videos to do. Hour long unboxing videos or review videos don't get watched for more than 20 mins, people don't normally come back to finish the videos and likely won't come back if your next video is an hour. That said, all your info was good, just no need for the extra info. Like if you got a ferro rod in your bag of goodies, point out that it's a ferro rod. You can even do a quick test by throwing a couple sparks. But no need to explain how to start a fire with it or how it works. Save that for a fire making video if a fire making video is your thing. And even id it's not your thing, no need to explain it in an unboxing video. You can make your videos any way you want, it's a free world. I only say this to try and help you get longer watch times and more videos with less time spent doing it. Also, I normally watch 5 to 10 videos from a channel before I will sub a channel. Keeping videos to 20 mins keeps me interested and coming back for the next one.

    One thing that you will never see me taking camping is a spice kit. Salt yet, pepper likely not and sugar and that is it. Generally poor presentation, with insufficient knowledge of the various items and really just a poor sales pitch video. I now know what to not get from Temu.
