I always thought that the king was kinda mean like he forces his son to marry. But after reading a lot of kingdom stories. I kinda get why he is like that ( he wants the kingdom to have a successor after his son. Plus he just wants to see his son in his big day of his live before dead. ) Good thing he doesn't make a forced arranged marriage. He lets his son choose a girl in the ball. In the 2nd and 3rd movie we get to know about him more. Here he seems like a good father in law. UwU
I like that you can see it’s Lady Tremaine that beat and brainwashed her daughters into being ruthless abusive monsters, just like her. The minute Anastasia is out if her grasp bc of court ethiquettes, her redemption arc starts bc she actually isn’t as evil as her mother. And I think it’s even reflected in her looks. She isn’t actually ugly, many ppl made the comparison with Ariel, imo she looks tired, depressed and someone who has been under pressure for years. The only one that’s truly kinda evil is Griselda but note that unlike Anastasia she never leaves her mother. Giving her no chance to actually make any moral decisions on her own.
