Just found your channel and I really dig the black-out on the hood. Laying that wrap looked easier than I thought. I'm trying to wrap a Crown Vic now but I think the cold temp's are making it tough as it just won't lay right. -Chris
East Coast Classics Thanks Chris! Yeah the cold would definitely alter how it sets. When I did this wrap, it was about 70 degrees outside. It was hot, but the heat helped keep the vinyl warm and the hood warmer so that it stretched easier. This was my first time wrapping anything too! Lol. Still in perfect condition even today! Great job - I'm very capable but I know if I was to attempt this I'd get aggravated and wind up wrapping myself in that wrap and then tossing it away. Again nice job. Clean looks.

Honestly couldn't tell. I have a hard time getting an overlay on a taillight right, let alone an entire hood...lol
William Lucas lol. Nice. I just did a whole lot of research and just went for it!
So fun watching newbies install vinyl wrap lol. But mind you I was the same at the very beginning. The problem with Chinese vinyl is that it’s super tacky so to make life a lot less stressful it helps to have a second hand. Both stand on each side fender and pull as hard as you can while lowering it at the same time to get the middle down as flat as possible that way you only have to deal with the four corners of the hood. Other than that great job bro! Only way to learn is to actually pick up some vinyl and roll wit it.

Vvivid isn't Chinese... OMG... But great work. Next time if you can try not to wrap in the sun, because it gets really soft and stretches more than usual. Just saying.

I've been wanting to mess around with some wrapping. Trying to keep busy before an upgrade. I keep seeing mixed reviews about every single brand though. How did this one work for you? Any issues after the install? Have you replaced it yet?

Goldn God Nice! I’d say it’s best to have someone help you do it, but if you’re wrapping it by yourself, start as I’ve done in the video. Start by anchoring it on one side, then try laying it down (glassing) as flat as possible going towards the other side.
It's so effin hot here in Vegas, do you think I'll still need to use the heat gun for folding the edges??? In fact, did the wrap come with any information regarding the temperature the car body should be when wrapping? Does it matter??
Winter In Vegas in general, you'd want the body temp to be cool to the touch. Though in this video it's actually about 89+ degrees outside, I'd still recommend the use of a heat source (hair dryer or heat gun lol) to concentrate the heat on specific areas.

good job man, next time to make it easier for you, its better to install vvivid in a closed space with temp around 70 degrees. doing it out in the sun makes the adhesive activate which is why it was so hard for you to preposition it

S B Thanks! I used the Vivid (air release) brand to wrap my hood. It took 1.5 hours (real time) to wrap it myself. It wasn't too hard though. I just did my research, got the materials, and took my time to do it. The link to where I got the wrap is in the description section under the video.

Looks good. I have a delima. I have a charge17 charger also and I want to wrap the roof or the hood. If I do one or the other what in your opinion will have a better look. Wrapping the hood or wrapping the roof, matte black of course?
black star Hey what's up! I'd say wrapping the roof first would be a better look because it would give your rear glass, roof, and front glass that unified look. Then, wrap the hood if you wanted it to look further unified. I did my roof first as well. Once I'd did both though I got Whole mother level of attention to it!
