The epicness in Vergil's OST it's that you can feel the "sadness" of a battle between two brothers with 2 opposing objectives. That plus the pumping adrenaline and power. This kind of OSTs are capable of transmitting what it's at stake in a boss battle. Your encounters with him were always a clash of equally strong wills. They never really hate each other, but they took different paths.
Very true, they simply stood in each other's way. They never really truly expressed "hate" to each other. All they talked about is their different ideals. After DMC5, it's so nice to see them get along so perfectly right after Nero interfered like they always have. It's like they've always loved each other, but they had to take different paths

One thing I always adored in this fight, aside from this absolute bomb of a track, is how it tells the story through its pacing. Vergil starts off essentially playing with Dante, using the Beowulf and quipping back at Dante's taunts. But, when you hit that magical %, the kid gloves literally come off. Vergil seems to realize he can't play around anymore, and takes the fight deathly serious. He uses his DT, and goes back to using Yamato primarily, now fully invested in the fight to once again prove himself superior to his little brother. I fucking love Devil May Cry!
Legit...kids be growing up addicted to Fortnite these days lol, being primed by gambling lootboxes by corporate overlords that just want an easy buck. The golden age of gaming when big-hits were actually full of love and commitment by their developers/producers both has long passed. Once in a while we will get an echo of those glory days (DMC5, for instance) but by-and-large the industry has devolved just as much as Arkham did in DMC3's ending...I find myself reminiscing with the older titles since they STILL outclass modern games in most ways.

When I say "modern games" I mean brand new IPs, mainly. That being said, Splatoon as a series (and Nintendo first-party-titles in general) qualifies as a modern classic. Hopefully Nintendo lasts a long, long time with their high quality games :D I do agree with you though - games made with love will always be around. My point was mainly that the current ratio of such titles compared to the earlier years of gaming as a whole has gone down in favor of quick cash-grab uninspired shlock. Maybe we will see a gaming ingenuity renaissance, though, possibly when VR becomes much more mainstream/accessible. Hopefully that happens in my lifetime.

DMC 3 doesn't get enough recognition for its story, mocap and the drama and VA, it's not just a great game but it knows when to joke around and when to take itself seriously, and those somewhat cheesy moments are also some of the coolest and most compelling in videogame history, just take the buildup to this battle, but unlike the pure edgelord stuff theres usually some comedy and self awareness thrown in which is why I love just about everything in DMC 3 from story to gameplay to OST, as close to perfection as a videogame has come.

Back to this game after a good number of years, I love how it's so unforgiving, and actively tries to kill you while playing these awesome tracks, as if it was saying "go to Hell ya unworthy scum". Vergil is the perfect death bringer, and the last mission took me ages to complete - your opponent gains health back while in demon form, just like you, it's so intense. You have to be faster, smarter, and you have to hit harder, quicker, and for a longer period of time. * *B u t i t r e f u s e d .*

See, Vergil Battle 1 is Vergil's first introduction. It's cold and menacing, like it should be. You're not facing a three-headed hellhound, nor are you facing a grim reaper. You're facing your older brother, the man you fights similarly to you, but better. Now in Vergil Battle 2, since a small aspect of Devils Never Cry is playing, it shows that Dante has gotten more stronger, but so has Vergil. That's why it sounds more dramatic and intense than the first one. It give off a vibe like: "You're not playing around, and neither will I."
I don't know how many times I've been killed by Vergil, I just know that beating DMC 3 in every difficulty besides DMD will forever be one of my biggest gamer moments
All bosses are fun in their own ways however Beowulf has to be my favorite boss of all time from any game. I just love going against him with royalguard feels satisfying. This game is truly amazing.

now that's what i call a masterpiece
DMC 3 doesn't get enough recognition for its story, mocap and the drama and VA, it's not just a great game but it knows when to joke around and when to take itself seriously, and those somewhat cheesy moments are also some of the coolest and most compelling in videogame history, just take the buildup to this battle, but unlike the pure edgelord stuff theres usually some comedy and self awareness thrown in which is why I love just about everything in DMC 3 from story to gameplay to OST, as close to perfection as a videogame has come.

Back to this game after a good number of years, I love how it's so unforgiving, and actively tries to kill you while playing these awesome tracks, as if it was saying "go to Hell ya unworthy scum". Vergil is the perfect death bringer, and the last mission took me ages to complete - your opponent gains health back while in demon form, just like you, it's so intense. You have to be faster, smarter, and you have to hit harder, quicker, and for a longer period of time.

@@vjagames8649 I died about 10 times the first time i fought him, i was using cerberus and rebellion, then i tought of swapping to beowulf and deleted him first try. Shits too op i could disable his devil trigger in one or two beowulf stinger

Man I remember playing this for the first time, still EPIC AS HELL.
See, Vergil Battle 1 is Vergil's first introduction. It's cold and menacing, like it should be. You're not facing a three-headed hellhound, nor are you facing a grim reaper. You're facing your older brother, the man you fights similarly to you, but better.
Now in Vergil Battle 2, since a small aspect of Devils Never Cry is playing, it shows that Dante has gotten more stronger, but so has Vergil. That's why it sounds more dramatic and intense than the first one. It give off a vibe like: "You're not playing around, and neither will I."
I don't know how many times I've been killed by Vergil, I just know that beating DMC 3 in every difficulty besides DMD will forever be one of my biggest gamer moments

All bosses are fun in their own ways however Beowulf has to be my favorite boss of all time from any game. I just love going against him with royalguard feels satisfying. This game is truly amazing.
