    This video honestly hits closer to home for me than any other video I have watched from this channel. As someone with occasional digestive issues, i have probably eaten too much fiber several times before, albeit nowhere near this level of insanity. I remember once, i think i ate a ton of fruit, 2 glasses of prune juice, and a bran muffin all in the same day. Needless to say, that was a terrible idea. I remember the next day, i felt no desire to eat at all, and i felt like i was going to vomit at any moment. To make matters worse, i was traveling that day, so it was rather miserable.
    As for laxatives in general, i feel like caution is essential with them. Whether it is some kind of plant fiber, juice, or stool softener, know this: too much of anything is bad. I myself, was not aware until this video that an overdose of laxatives could actually constipate, but in all honesty, it makes sense, as a insoluble fiber like that is designed to bulk stools up. I appreciate that this video was made, i learned a lot from it.

What I'm saying is that, if you take what was previously reported and conglomerate it similar to how we can access all this information now, it still would be overshadowed by the number of reports we have now, especially when you realize that previous reports would still be spread out more (maybe 5 reports in one place, 6 in another and 2 in another, instead of today where 100s may all come from one area or source alone). Now, you can find a story like this every 4 minutes anywhere. Some of these kids really are THAT dumb and it's seemingly getting worse.
      I'm not saying it's all their faults, because they've been failed by their parents along with the education system over the last few decades, but it's just unreal how most of these stories aren't like backwaters hillbilly hicks who breed within the family; these are usually above-average "educated" (usually to secondary education like college) adults/young adults who either live on their own or have parents who can afford to provide for them even past being teenagers.

    I find the best way to avoid jello clumping, is to put the spoonful of fiber into the glass First, then pour the water onto it.
    The churning and splashing helps to mix up the fiber.
    if you do the reverse, and spoon fiber into a standing glass of water it tends to float on top in one big clump.

    This episode is where I get to share a gross poop story of my own. In high school, I didn't drink much water at all. Looking back, it was maybe a glass a month, with coffee being the only thing I really drank. No wonder, then, when I started having stomach cramps. The pain would come in waves, and the only solution was to wait it out. It began to get more frequent, and so we finally went to the ER. When we arrived, I got an X-ray of my abdomen. Those not familiar with the X- ray might not know this, but it is normally only used to view very solid things, like bones and joints. My stool was so compacted/dense that they could see it on the x-ray. 3 doses of miralax later and I was right as rain (sort of). It's happened 2-3 more times since then, but I've learned to deal with it. Moral of the story: drink water.

      As someone who has IBS (among many other severe chronic health issues, all courtesy of an abusive childhood that still haunts me to this day) that, left to its own devices before being properly diagnosed and managed about twenty years ago, alternated between the two extremes, typically 10-14 days of absolute constipation followed 6-24 hours in which it would momentarily shift towards diarrhea until everything finally passed, I can concur. When that shift would happen I would immediately go into mild shock (cold sweats, pale and clammy skin, tunnel vision, etc. - I really hated when that shock would hit while driving!) and it would typically take 6-12 hours of ungodly awful abdominal cramping, wave after wave of severe cramps, while stuck on, or immediately next to, a toilet before I could finally begin to actually pass anything, though that entire time you know the moment can come suddenly with little warning as each wave of contractions hit so you do not dare leave the bathroom even for a moment…then finally, a few hours after the first stool passes, it would finally be over and the cycle would repeat again 10-14 days later…over and over again for a decade. The entire time between the initial onset of shock and the first waves of abdominal cramping and finally passing that first stool (the beginning of the end) you are literally sitting on the toilet PRAYING to God that He either let this stool pass quickly or PLEASE STRIKE YOU DEAD here and now because you can not bear that pain any longer, and that entire time your body is still in a state of shock so you feel very sickly and beyond awful. I remember times while at university and still stuck in the restroom long after my last evening or night class had ended (not to mention exams that I would have to urgently leave in the middle of, never returning to finish the exam) with the janitor or security guard stopping by the restroom about every 30 minutes to make sure I was still alive and having to assure them that it will be ok in the end, I just didn’t have any control over the timeline and until it ran it’s course I would be in hell, praying to be struck dead, but, sadly, still very much alive! I was always grateful that they seemed to understand and cared enough to make sure I was ok, but it was always very embarrassing for an otherwise shy person who very much disliked being the center of attention, but especially attention over one’s bowel habits! Afterwards, my electrolytes would be so out of whack that I would literally have an intense craving for a little of absolutely EVERYTHING that I had to eat in my apartment…literally a few bites of this, a few more of that, oh, and that, too, and…and…and…! Only after satisfying that craving and restoring my electrolyte balance would I finally start to begin feeling better and fully come out of my state of mild shock. And then the cycle would repeat all over again! These days it is generally managed reasonably well with every other day doses of an over the counter laxative and stool softener (Senakot-S) to help keep things moving along (as well as to offset the less desirable effects of the pain medication I also take now, for severe chronic pain).
      So, to anyone who has had to endure the same, I have the utmost empathy for all of you as it is not something I would wish even upon my worst of enemies as it is literal torture of the most cruel and unusual sort!

      His friend held his shit for days playing vidya, until he felt enough pain to get off and shit and would feel the urge to shit, but nothing comes out no matter how hard he tried.
      After the pain was unbearable that he would cry, he went to his mom and basically told her he fucked up.
      She took him to the hospital, and the doc got into his colon and saw a massive solidified shit.

      I uh- I held in my poop for two months when I was about 9 years old uhh
      But like legit tho I think I only survived because I drank my brother’s meal drinks that pretty much had everything you needed to survive. I remember that I told my parents that I was constipated and they told me that if I held my poop in for two weeks they would have to bring me to the hospital. I think they were joking at the time but I was freaking out since when I had told them, it had already been three weeks and I didn’t want to say anything. It was like hell on earth and for some reason, even though my parents knew I was constipated, they never gave me any laxatives and just told me to drink more water, which didn’t help. Anyway, I pretty much lost like 20 pounds and now I probably have severe intestinal damage, plus I feel like holding your poop in for two months is gonna guarantee some kind of colon cancer 😓

    • @doubtful_seer
      @doubtful_seer 3 роки тому +24

      I’ve had chronic constipation my entire life because of being born premature. At a certain point the doctors just give up and prescribe you several types of laxatives. I’ve had times where I only go once in a month. It’s not fun and it really makes you feel awful. But unless you want surgery literally every month there’s just nothing to do but to keep taking the laxatives. The goal is to prevent a bag for as many years as possible.
