Amazing piece of history. I remember, at the time I was 4, and in nursery, we made the Olympics logo with carbord tubes and paint. My dad worked at ExCel at the time, and after the Olympics, he brought home lots of left over items from the gift shop; boxes of multi-colour pens, toy taxis and keychains mainly. Over the years, I gave away a few of the pens to friends, and on my trip to Brazil this Spring, we found one of the taxis in my grandparent's flat. Ah how time passes
Thanks for uploading this interesting video. It did make me laugh that you uploaded the lift inside the McDonalds. One of the staff members I work with was selected to work there.
Beno, yesterday, I also saw something very zany like the Coca-Cola thingummy in London. The Marwell's Zany Zebras. I've found all 48 zebras around the zoo and I'm ready to prepare to find all of them in Southampton City Center next week. It's zany, but fun.
Many thanks for uploading this video. I worked for McDonalds at the time of the Olympics but sadly didn't have the opportunity to apply to work in the Olympic restaurant. I did do some volunteering over at Heathrow T1 however, and on several occasions ended up riding in the lifts.
notice how the lifts in the stadium were Schindler's vandal-resistant design. This may have been why these were installed, because they wanted vandal-resistant lifts, which the current design are not. Also, some of those lifts (such as the ThyssenKrupp's) seemed too small for the number of people there. maybe it would have been better if the lifts were bigger, like the Schindler's and Orona's.
0:35 I noticed on the middle sign of the main olympic entrance zone they used a different olympics logo than the ringed one either that or they had another thing for that
I also do like to visit places like this because its a big area with alot of fun areas to explore and see I even made a vertual building on roblox from scratch specifically for that purpose and its fun and its entertaining and really does help if Im bored
Such an odd idea that they would have temporary buildings with full elevators/lifts in them Im guessing that was possible there because they probably had power connections underground or they used solar panels to power the buildings
Really weird event it wasnt like a normal fair type of thing where there was just a bunch of food stands and animal exibits and stuff this had a few full proper buildings that were all temporary which is cool but its odd that they put all their money into doing that when they couldve just done the normal stuff which would not only be easier but it would save them alot of money doing it like that
Do they at least plan to re use the elevator parts, or are they just going to demolish these perfectly functioning BRAND NEW elevators? Ugh seems so wasteful. Especially the Orona with nice fixtures.
Well the ones in both the mcdonnalds and the acer structure were probably taken out as one big mass on big trucks or something and then the rest of the building was all just a bunch of pieces that locked together I was thinking they would do the same thing for the basketball building but they probably actually demolished it and all the parts ended up in a scrap yard
But sadly Im from the US so I didnt get to see the olympics and even if I did I wouldnt remember it because I was young back in 2012 when you posted your video and my memory is not very good and also I have autism so Id probably go nuts from the sounds of loud music and people
Yes beno was go power olympics go to the orbit mcdonlads to find the lift cola cola in olympic and acer laptop go to the basktball arena and the funny to catch and pass ball 🙏🍟🍱🎰🎮⚽️
I'm aware of that...but this is also a picnic atmosphere ...like go and check my video Volleyball match between Poland - Argentina. Don't get me wrong , Im not saying is really bad and all but Im just comparing with other previous events.
+Archie Crank Kleemann are a Greek company and are not generic. But in the UK, generic company's install genuine kleemann parts and mix it with their generic parts so it makes it a generic. Why Kleeman let them do this I don't know :/
0:58 ...SORRY i have to say...its a fail atmosphere compared to other events such us euro 2012 or football clubs legues ( from : germany , poland , spain ,turkey , croatia etc.) I'm not sure if you are intrested in football or not but I hope you will go one day for that kind of event...unfortunately english clubs have 'picnic' atmosphere , so I suggest to go once aborad xD

I think the orbit was a substantial building
Which part of Kent do you live in
3:36 “FLOOR ZERO”
Kleemanns in the UK seem a whole lot worse then the ones here, the ones here are probably the same quality as a 3300, but with a chassis!
How the hell did you find that out?
I had no interest in the Olympics, but you've captured an interesting bit of history.

Aren't these going to go to waste now that they're going to tear most of this out?

This stadium now belongs to West Ham United FC
So are all the lifts still working or did they go to waste?
@@TransitAndTeslas I don't know
maybe they'll take them out and move them somewhere else where they can be used.
Everybody does,
Yes but like you said , you cannot get with orange juice right? That is worse than in planes entering...
3:06, It's on -1 and it's closed it's doors!
3:34, Man, the lift's logic is stupid! It's on level 2, not level 0!
Or in other words, a bloody annoying noise.
