    Interestingly, lots of women complain about simple assault on public transit while being sexually harassed, which is perhaps valid. Would Emma tell those same women to stop complaining?

    • @ericthegreat7805
      @ericthegreat7805 Рік тому

      The funny thing is that elite men are more likely to sexually harass due to corruption and greed (think Harvey Weinstein) but (possibly because women prefer higher status men so are more willing to tolerate transgressions from them) the insults feminists use on men they don't like often are based on poor or working class stereotypes (think incel, trailer park, basement dweller, etc.). Remember that stupid "sexual harassment in NYC" feminist video that went viral a few years back, but it turned out she specifically selected a working class neighbourhood? And feminists frequently complain about harassment on public transit. This is all incoherent.

      @@theoverunderthinker Exactly. The whole idea of setting this up is so that people are in the wrong no matter what they do. If you sit there and do nothing then you're a bad person for not helping a defenseless woman. If you do something to help then you've victimizing somebody who is suffering form a mental health episode. Once you set up this no win situation then you can decide on the right and wrong of the situation based on things like the victim hierarchy. You can look at a black dude punching an Asian woman in the face and side with the the attacker. You can have a white dude punching a trans person in the face and side with the victim.

    City dweller bug-brains will have mildly scary events happen to them, think they're tough for getting through them, but never concede the fact that it could've gone a lot worse for them. This is why they don't think they'd ever have to defend themselves; it's survivorship bias. The reality is that nightmare scenarios can happen in the blink of an eye and it's important to foster a culture of individual protective capability. Didn't know that being assaulted by someone having a "mental health crisis" was in the social contract. Gotta go back and read the fine print I guess...🤔

    Is a train full of random people not the best jury you could have
    Probably more witnesses than jury members
    So if every single witness says they think he did the right thing
    Then how could it be possible to send him to prison

    Might the situation have been avoided if Neeley had been given access to proper mental health treatment? Possibly. But he wasnt. And that failing should not result in a risk to the safety of the other train passengers.
    How this hypothetically COULD have been avoided is completley different conversation as to whether how it WAS dealt with was justified or not. Because it wasnt avoided. It happened.

    If you wanted to be safe and avoid people you wouldnt take the subway. You dont get to ger special privileges cause you FEEL scared. And if a person is having a mental episode scares you then really your the problem. Its like sitting at a game and a fight breaks out.. if your not in the fight then why would you been scared? It has nothing to do with you. Essentially what your saying is going into a hospital would be like walking into horror film. Forget about metal institution.. you probably have a heart attack.

    I do not get why the mental episode should give some a right to make others feel unsafe. It would be something that should be taken into consideration if it gets into court, but it does not make the person any less dangerous, in fact more as he is unpredictable.
