What is the difference between “add to library” and “love this song” on AM? Which one should I favor to improve the algorithm and have better recommendations? Which one matters the most? Are they equal for the algorithm?
I have been using Spotify since 2015 and the experience is just perfect. I just do not know if I should switch to Apple Music. I want to, but I’m just not 100% sure with leaving Spotify.
Me too been using Spotify for yearsss buy apple just gave me 6 months Apple Music for free and I’m actually loving it especially with the spatial audio on my air pods pro. This feature doesn’t work with Spotify however it does with Apple Music and I actually like it. I’ll decide after the 6 months if I want to go bk to Spotify 🤷🏾♀️

Hi there! I am an Android user, and the Apple music app is available for it. I would like to use it only for my own music library and not streaming. However, when I click on Library tab and then "Try it now" It shows 3 payment plans. At the bottom says "Try It free" on top of that button says "Plan automatically renews monthly". I assuming this is only a trial. Do I have to pay just to use it for my own downloaded songs? Apple is developing the App for Windows and I am using that now. I am using that for my library and very happy with it. I just hope I can use the android phone app version for free too.

Well if you didn’t have download every song to your device that’s why Spotify trumps this. You add to a list you just make a list without having to take up space on your phone. I have this included in my cell plan but I don’t want to use my free space is there a way to do this?

I tell people this all the time. The number 1 feature Apple Music has over Spotify is the ability to ADD YOUR OWN MUSIC! I see Spotify users comment all the time about how such and such song still isn't available for streaming, but if you had Apple Music, you could literally create your own library and use it in addition to the Apple Music catalog. Which also comes in handy for when songs get removed from streaming services. Since it groups everything together, you can literally browse your library and the music catalog together. You can manually add half the songs of an album, save the other half from Apple Music, and then see them all together as a complete album when you're browsing that artist.

I’ve been using Apple products since 2014….I’m contemplating dropping Sirius and going with Apple music, and I have Apple car play in my vehicle. The experience isn’t as great as Spotify or Deezer, but it looks more polished. Speaking of polish, do you know any alternative AM front ends, Josh? The AM Mac app is an awful experience - skipping songs, search not working. Ugh.

Hmmm, make sure you have iCloud music enabled so the songs you buy will sync to your android device. That would be my guess why they’re not showing up - Josh
I accidently removed a album from my recently added section from the library, I didnt subscribe to apple music, I bought all the albums on my own. How do I get that album to appear on my library again? Cant find the that album in the music app anywhere but when I go to itunes and search that album it shows I already purchased but I cant add it back to my library. So annoying.... Also is there a way I can relocate albums in the recently added section like the apps on home screen?

They really need a simple like button to add music to your library similar to spotify. the giant menu to add, love, and dislike music is frustrating. If i hear a song i like i want to be able to like it with ease. Especially with there widget and lock screen interface. There widget is terrible, it has no buttons to pause/play its just a fancy shortcut to the app. Also not being able to hit one button to download all your songs at once is also infuriating.

when you edit a playlist in iTunes it would show the playlist in full screen this allowed me to view 30 - 40 tracks where as in the new Apple Music screen i can view 10 songs in a playlist one time. What benefit is there to add a song to the library as opposed to downloading the song? Downloading the song takes up storage on the phone but then I can listen to that song any time? You actually can't download it unless it's in your library. So no benefit, it's more of a limitation if that makes sense. But yes, when you download a song you can listen to it without a 4G/5G data connection or being on WiFi. Hope that helps!

you can't purchase in apple music, it is streaming only. So yes you would have to go back to itunes. Not sure the catalogues are the same though. Great name btw

I recently discovered that you can add a song to your library if you drag it to the left on your screen. If you drag it to the left the second time it will download to your device. I wish there was a place to find all these cool features without having to discover them by accident.

If you have an iPhone you can simply download the album directly onto the phone from the Apple Music app. Or if you’ve got music from a CD or other source that your importing to Apple Music on a Mac, once it imports it’ll be uploaded to the cloud for all of your other devices to access including your phone. When I am adding an album to my library, it is also all the songs on that album so my library. Is there a way to have that not? I only want the album in the album-library, not all the songs on that specific album in my songs-library.

I'm late to the party, but here's a question: Once I've created a playlist on the phone app, how do I access/edit that playlist from the web app? I have a Library tab on the web app, but it doesn't seem to access anything. I do have the music itself sync'd, so if I add a song or album on one, it appears on the other.

I recently discovered that you can add a song to your library if you drag it to the left on your screen. If you drag it to the left the second time it will download to your device. I wish there was a place to find all these cool features without having to discover them by accident.

If you have an iPhone you can simply download the album directly onto the phone from the Apple Music app. Or if you’ve got music from a CD or other source that your importing to Apple Music on a Mac, once it imports it’ll be uploaded to the cloud for all of your other devices to access including your phone.
