  • For only a second time since starting his channel and also the first sense Beverley Beck nine months earlier, Dave takes to the canalside surroundings.
The peak Forest Canal which is his personal favorite spans 15 miles from the almost far north-western edge of Derbyshire at Bugsworth to the bustle of Ashton under Lyne only 6 miles shy of Manchester.
Dave begins this initial part at Bugsworth near Chinley, surrounded by remnants of the once impressive limekiln industry and connecting terminal with the horse-drawn tramway from Buxton which was featured on an earlier video.
    • Peak Forest Tramway - ...
He leaves this behind (eventually) to bypass Teapot Row, with an interesting if not insalubrious background to its nickname and then enjoys a detour via the short arm to Whaley Bridge Wharf which also connected with a forgotten railway route, the Cromford & High Peak Railway. Returning to the canal we continue past barges and bridges old and new and the relatively more modern terminals at Furness Vale and eventually New Mills, shortly before the border with Cheshire.
Apology for this one being a bit longer than you're used to (at nearly 23 minutes it's Dave's longest to date) but due to the editing not being able to find a good place to even the attractions off at midpoint, the only way it could possibly work was to include this whole portion in one.
