- We got a set of Cometic Gasket's MLX head gaskets for a small block Ford build we're doing. Our head gaskets are a standard layout Ford head gasket with a .040"-.044" thickness and designed to fit a 4.125" bore.
The difference between an MLS and Cometic’s MLX gasket, which stands for Multi-Layer-Xtreme, is an extra 'stopper' fold-over layer that provides a torque limiting surface and prevents yielding of the combustion seal. Check out the rest of the review.

Just a warning and heads up. Cometic makes great gaskets. But make absolute sure nothing is in between the sandwich layers. The little pieces of rivets that hold the gaskets sandwich can get in between the layers and I can tell you it sucks if you miss it. I called a Freind who is a hardcore engine builder and he just chucked and said he has found it quite often over the years and just checks them as standard procedure. I called Cometic and they completely denied it could happen. I was lucky and found mine on a Cummins diesel build when I installed the head in the truck and noticed it rocked only to find the rivet piece with a boroscope before I torqued it. GreAt gaskets as far as holding 60 psi of boost in a Cummins without an oring
I am going to put your head gasket on my 4P piston built boosted Honda b series and not run over 19psi. If it fails I will go on blast. This video sold me. Let's hope it's all truth. God bless.

Was going to throw MLS in my 2JZ, but in sold on the MLX. Will report back with results soon.
I've got a set of these MLX gaskets in my 12 to 1 blown 540 and so far so good!

Can you run these with a copper shim?
What if the rivet tabs interfere with bolt ons? My Cherokee Ac bracket lands right on the tab.

I am going to be using your gasket on my build. Do I need to spray the gasket with any sealant?
As long as your deck surface and head surface is clean and flat, no sealant should be required.
