I always appreciate you talking about the whole phone, Flossy. So many tech reviewers fixate on the cameras and totally skip the rest of the phone. For me, the cameras are the least of my concerns with a phone.

I have the S24 Ultra and this is the first time in years that I won't be upgrading. Samsung may want to introduce new models every 2 years with a bunch of new features or accelerate innovative upgrades annually that provide a compelling case to upgrade. I personally don't see it this time around. Thank you for the review!
you're not forced to upgrade every year lol, every other year it's for someone who has maybe an s20 s21 or below

I just upgraded from the s24 ultra and don't regret it one bit. It's faster, smoother, screen is much brighter (I think something was wrong with me s24 ultra screen), speaker is better, design is better. Battery life is also much better despite it still optimising. Camera is notably better in low light and with moving subjects. Nothing really not to like.
I went from S23 Ultra to S25 Ultra and I LOVE it. I love the way it feels noticeably lighter in hand. I love the flat screen. I love the rounded corners. It is faster and smoother, even with common usage like browsing the web or social media. I like the new UI. I'm very happy with the upgrade so far.
You are right. I have the S23U and I would also appreciate such an upgrade. You won't hear a lot of comments like this but it's true. It's just not the popular line. Too many Chinese OEM candy handouts out there

yeah I agree. I think coming from the S23U to the S25U is probably a lateral upgrade. I didn't have a BT Pen, so I never used it. I do have a watch, so I might use that, but I just use hand gestures. *shrug*
Facts the phone feels amazing. Though I had to return mine cause anytime I played games the phone always froze.

I still have my Note 20 ultra and am holding on to it specifically due to the memory card expandability. I wish they would bring that back.
I mean you can just buy the 512. 1TB versions of a phone nowadays. Or go the cloud storage route to ease the pain of dropping that ridiculous cash for the huge storage variants..

S22 ultra to S25 ultra. Definitely upgrade! I notice a huge difference! My Bluetooth s pen hadn't worked in a couple years and I never use the Bluetooth feature so I don't care it's not Bluetooth.

I have an S22+ for the past 3 years now. I really want to get the S25 ultra though!
The remote control functionality of the S pen is absolutely amazing. Most people don't realize it's not just for camera... you can use it for anything! When I'm in bed on social media and don't want to swipe my phone, I programed the S pen to do that. Single click goes up, double click goes down.
You can even make it do specific screen presses. When reading, you can map it to next/previous pages. When I'm doing my NYT Mini crossword, I have it mapped to next/previous clues. The air actions are useful too, I hold the button and shake the remote to share whatever TikTok I'm watching with my gf. You can program anything for any app. It's one of the best features of the S24 Ultra but no one knew about it so now its gone 😭😭
I've had my note 20 ultra since 2020, finally bit on the upgrade, the promotions were great through samsung. 600$ on trade in plus $350 in other promotions, ended up getting the 512gb note 25 ultra bundled with the buds 3 pro for a total of $760 after tax. That's a 1010$ discount 👍

I used the Bluetooth s-pen maybe once since I owned the s24u. It sucks they removed it but I don't think that should be a reason not to upgrade

@@GrimAbstract S24u stands out more with the unique square edges. IMO S24u looks better. S25u looks generic, huge stupid camera rings that serve no purpose and the nerfed SPen is a major L for the Ultra. Ultra is meant to have it all - its the whole point of the 'Ultra' nomenclature.

Well that does it for me. Imma stick with my S23 Ultra. Just got a fresh battery and I love the bluetooth S-pen. Hopefully they will bring back the bluetooth S-pen for the S26 Ultra.

Anyone that has the S22 Ultra wants to upgrade to the S25 Ultra absolutely should do so immediately. My god that S22 Ultra was released with terrible battery and it's been 3 years of battery degradation now. Upgrade immediately!!!
I'm on s22u and my new jet black 1tb s25 arrives this week with a watch 7 that was practically free after work discounts and promo codes. Glad you say it's worth it because I was feeling a little buyers remorse thinking that s22 does what I need it to do.

I'm on my phone a ton from like 8am til 3pm and I'm one of those people who panic if I have less than 70% and I have to leave the house. Lately I haven't care and my battery is at like 33% when 2pm comes and almost dead by 330

I'm good. Instead of taking away features, hyper focusing on AI, and trying to copy Apple with business practices, they should innovate and improve their battery and charging. I'm not getting the S25 Ultra just to go through the same battery experience I'm going through right now with my S23 Ultra all over again. Galaxy's have great battery life when they first come out....hwo do we know this won't happen again with this model after a few updates?

Coming from the s23 ultra. Even though the specs aren't a crazy jump, I have almost never used the Bluetooth spen, I would say it feels like a solid upgrade. Runs way smoother, UI feels way better and it just runs faster. If you are considering it, go ahead and do it.
Good to hear, I'm coming from an S22U. Figured go ahead and upgrade while they are giving $600 trade in. Should arrive this week. I've never used s pen Bluetooth functions.

I personally liked the S24 Ultra better than the S25 Ultra. The only reason I switched was to get away from the trash camera on the fold 6. I still can't understand how 5 year old pixels take better shots than a new Samsung with a supposed 50 megapixel canera.

I just got the 25U after trading in the 24U and had it for a few days. For me, the build and the speed difference is remarkable. It's a win for me but that's just like Floss said, it's new. I definitely don't think it's a necessary upgrade and most people won't even notice a difference except potentially the build depending on the case you use.
Your brain is trying to tell you that you justified your purchase. It's ok if you have money to burn and you want the latest and greatest every year. But let's be honest, there was no reason for upgrading. More downgrades than upgrades this year.
@lorddoma6637 as I said, most people won't notice any difference. That said, it's hyperbole to say there's more downgrades than upgrades. I never use Bluetooth on the S pen, so that's not a factor for me. Not sure what else you'd consider a downgrade unless you don't like a lighter phone. To each his own...

People really don't understand the upgrade from the 24 to 25 unless they use them both side by side. It's amazing how much faster this phone feels compared to the previous. Blowing my mind

I traded in my S24 Ultra for the S25 Ultra for $400. I rock my devices caseless and them flat sides make a huge difference in terms of grip. Also the 16g diff in weight makes one hand useage on the S25 Ultra easier for longer periods of time. The preorder bonus was nice so I went up from 256gb to 512gb and also got 2 years of insurance for free.

@@theorgazoid4918 I’m pretty sure that they can’t backtrack on this, as the charging hardware from the phone has been removed. And the S Pen needed to charge pretty often, so an external charging solution would be admitting they fucked up.

I work around heat, so the watch would mealt around my wrist, but with the pen fits in all of my pockets and it's so easy to control the volume with out looking at the pen. So convenient.
Simply cannot justify $1400 for any device. OnePlus 13 kills this brick

Them getting rid of Bluetooth S Pen automatically makes the S25 a downgrade.
I picked up my S25 Ultra titanium black yesterday. I love the rounded corners which makes it very comfy in the hand. The snappyness of pretty much everything makes it such a joy to use and since 1996 i have enjoyed an all-in-one devices. Screen quality is gorgeous! The speakers when set with dolby atmos and set to speech preset in the dolby menu makes everything i listen to crystal clear. I'm a medium to heavy user so the battery life even on my S23+ was awesome so now with the snapdragon elite and 300mah more battery capacity it's just awesome! I only been using it for 13 hours and i can confidently say it's my fav device in quite some time 😁

1:32 sadly if they release an spen for s25 ultra . It still wouldn't be able to charge because they removed the wireless charging for thr spen internally on the s 25. ... so we all can just hope they bring back to s26 ultra.

Do you prefer the s25 Ultra over the One plus 13? I'm lifelong Samsung and when i switch i plan on getting the watch, earbuds, everything. Is it all better together than Samsung?
It interferes with the normal S-Pen too. It is the digitiser that's the problem, not the Bluetooth connection.

So i preordered the ultra should be here this week. im switching over from iphone 15 pro max. as an apple fan it feels kinda weird but i think ima love this change. this phone has def caught my attention. i personally could care less for the S Pen not bveing bluetooth. but gonna tryn stick it out with the S25 Ultra for a year and see if i wanna go back apple. 😬 thanks for the reviews!

Switched to Samsung since the iPhone 8plus never went back. Now I own the s25 ultra. I do like the slimer design over the iPhone. It is easier to type and or game.

I own my S23 Ultra 512gb since Oct2023 (been in a full protective case), it's all mint.. actually, there is no reason to upgrade - $750 trade-in is a bit low, the discount for Bud Pro 3 and watch are good, S25 Ultra 1tb has better camera spec, better processor..
Since my S23 Ultra is in the full coverage case.. I seldom take out the s-pen (I could but don't)
So basically, I am getting Samsung Galaxy phone with faster processor and larger storage.

Watching this on my new *regular* S25 Silver Shadow 256 GB; had it for 48+ hours now. I had S22 for 3 years, and the biggest upgrades which also are excellent impressive qualities of the S25 are:
- Processor / chip / performance (fast! + no struggles)
- Battery (sterdy + stays the same when inactive)
- RAM / background memory (no refreshes)
Also:
- Screen (deeep blacks!)
- Build quality / form factor (light weight)
- Design / looks (s3xy frame)
Otherwise, it is quite similar to my previous S22.
The multi tasking on samsung is unbeaten. My old iphone is collecting dust since I upgraded😂
One thing nobody ever talks about anymore is the speakers. I wish samsung would make a front facing speaker like they do at the top. They made it barely noticeable at the top, they could do the same at the bottom. I loved the HTC One design for that reason.
What are you talking about, he talks about the speakers in EVERY video, including this one, and even does a sound test covering one speaker.
I loved the speaker and sound on the HTC, and it was a nice smaller phone that sounded amazing.

i love the s25 ultra. my wife got my s24 ultra and i traded her s22 ultra and got a trade in value of 600 bucks. then i had my military discount. i love this phone. lighter, no sharp corners and super smooth. no regrets here
