That's true the lady in the play is a celestial maiden or you could say an angel, without her feathered robe (Hagoromo, hence the name of the play) she can't fly back to heaven. The man who found her robe asks her to dance for him for the robe to be returned, she begs him to return it but he still declines, she weeps because of her situation and in pity the man returns her robe. Being grateful in returning her robe she performs a dance for him before she departs back to heaven.
