As in any other city, do not walk up these streets that George shows looking like a tourist. I live here and even I will stop on those main streets and move to the side to ensure noone is following. The most fun is when you hit bars outside the mainstream. Sure, walk along Temple Bar quarter, but avoid drinking there. It's exorbitant and there are no Irish people there.
