      It sounds like shoshana, does it not? Both natives and israelim/ivrim share a similar history of exile and oppression. I hope The Holy One blessed be He, will have mercy and give us all the peace we seek.

    One of my great-grandmothers was Shoshone and I was always curious about the culture. She lived in the Canadian prairies, though.

    My grandfather hired the Arapahoe and Shoshone for his wood working shop in Thermopolis Wyoming. When the great depression came he lost his business. A chief came and gave him a trapdoor Springfield carbine that was not in very good condition. This gun would provide wealth for our family beyond anything we could imagine.

    In recent years there have been discoveries of villages in the Winds. The first one they found was above 10500 feet elevation. They seemed to be permanent dwellings instead of the nomadic dwellings of the people of the valley, They had foundations that they put their tepees on and they were covered with tree bark, sealed with pine tar. Many has two walls. One inside the other to insulate against the cold. Also, thousands of years ago the climate was warmer so they could live at that altitude. Since this discovery hundreds more have been discovered and the artifacts are dating 12.000 years ago. I believe that these may have been the Fremont people.

    Beautiful! Are the Shoshone related to Unami? Lenni Lenape?

    • @WyomingPBS
      @WyomingPBS  4 роки тому +2

      It's unlikely the Shoshone are related to any of the Algonquian tribes. They originated in the western Great Basin and spread north and east.

    The highlighted blue part was not all Shoshone territory. They did not control all of that territory.

    With no intentions to generalize, but the Shoshone people at Wind River seem to have an average good life and succeeded better than compared to many of the Lakota at Pine Ridge. Is this due to that the Wind River is a rich land and that the Shoshone in many senses got better prerequisites than the Lakota, or are there also other reasons?

    • @lechandler4041
      @lechandler4041 4 роки тому

      I would be interested in knowing also, although I suspect there are many reasons, not the least of which is the Episcopal Priest.

      The Lakota were infiltrated before the gold rush and the Indian removals and even before the Mexican War. There were free masons of French/English Ancestry including the Opp, Oppe, Oppen, Oppenheim and Oppenheimer family that arrived in the Southeast area of what would become California and in the Alps Mine, Montana area as well as the PA northeast territory around the time when the first colony NJ was established. The Opp / Oppenheimer family had branches of the family linked to freemason/Benjamin Franklin, Knights of the Golden Ring - Stand Watie Cherokee Fake Chief, Oklahoma - civil war era. They also had Eastern Star Lutherins, Templar/Teutonic Prussians (these most easily had integrated into what has been called the New World between the 14th & 18th centuries and a surge when Prussia vanished. The Catholic church & European Nobility took control of the Scottish Rite & York Right Free masons defining the United orders as Catholic in the early 19th century as Catholicism has tried to dominate the world as the unholy Roman empire. While the established Cherokee/Chickmaugua/Choctaw and Yuchi/Yamassee trade route from Spanish Florida to the Ohio & Illinois as well as the Missouri, Wichita, Kansas and many tribes and clans managed trade and manufacture. The Northeast to King's Mtg and the Peachtree trail experienced many pre-colonial wars. The names, boundaries and territories changed and history of the North American continent is purposely truncated to recognize or include what is America at the convenience of the printing press owned and controlled by the unholy Roman empire. The York Rite established prior to the discovery allegedly by Columbus included that New Yorkshire center is the area from Nashville to Knoxville in TN. The Yorkshire area of England is well referenced in the Doomsday book and when the titles of the land holders were revoked these people relocated with other Jor'ks (Vikings) and Tartarians (Russians/Ruthenians) to this land. The red-haired genetics is most prevalent in the Scot (Yoekshire) and The (Udmurt) but after the potato famine in Ireland and the immigration of the Irish the mixed tribes/clans were called Irish-Indians. Many of these arrivals integrating with The People were actually Welsh, small round people. The Templar artifacts are well documented among the indigenous 'gifts' to the US and as spoils of war and of course outright theft. My ancestors include Cherokee (full blood), Cherokee/Scottish died in the Mexican war. Cherokee/German died in the Spanish American war Black Cherokee/Irish died in the civil war. Prussian/Tlingit (Alaskan indigenous) died in the Russian Gulf of Mexico at sea (fisherman) and Lakota Sioux founder of the Larsen & Fisher Dry Goods Gold Mine stores partnered with the Montana Alps Mine Opp family. My ancestors once owners of the land where the Bat Creek stone was found aka Stony Point farms in TN, the Goosefoot farm in Ky, the Alps mine in Montana, the Oak Ridge nuclear laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN and were founders of Irbyville on the Peachtree trail now called Buckhead, GA. The ancestors built some of the first freemason lodges such as Deer Lodge in Montana. This family side worked closely with the Pawnee & ZUNI who made jewelry and weappns, tankards and serving trays... Other Oppenheimers built weapons like my great uncle Robert Oppenheimer and his cousins established Opp town Alabama and Opp bank. They worked for NASA and one was the 1st American Ambassador to Germany. My grandpa taught me well in the ways of my people. He was born at King's Mtn or his birth registered there - actually born on the Rez in the Ocala. My other great grandma on my mom's side was a medicine woman who lived in the woods in GA to the age of 106. She taught me well. sojmed (a) gmail DOT com

    A lot of the Native Americans you've interviewed for this look like they have some European ancestry. Has there been some interracial marriages throughout the years or are there just similarities in facial structures I'm not correctly identifying?
