Its a very simple ARPG which is a good thing as it will feeds players to the more complex games like POE. you could rank it as Torchlight the junior ARPG Diablo 3 the teen and POE the mature gamer. I think its great we have a simple ARPG for younger players or new players to help keep the ARPG growing !!
The classes seem pretty cool, but I have seen from other people that the endgame is quite lacking currently. I will wait for the price to drop and more content.
i remember when in the beta you had to manually put down the rails for the train, was super annoying i remember my complaints landing on deft ears an the devs tossing every excuse under the book not to change it, funny how its changed now. i bought every torchlight game, this one does not seem worth it at all. does not even feel like a torchlight game, so many neglected systems they left out, they took fishing out and the interactions it had with the pet system. stripped out the lagacy system to pass down items of retired characters. the relic system is a joke. so much went wrong with this game.
How does it compare to D3 in terms of content? No game will have the amount of content that POE does, so I am not expecting that, but if it's similar to D3, then it might be worth the cost. Thanks for the great content!
I still think TL2 has more depth and is a better game which is why i called this game TORCH-LITE, this is a perfect game to show someone who is interested in getting into ARPG's.
what kills this game for me is the whole screen turning to what ever color damage affecting you is.. example you get poison the whole screen goes green and i cant get use to it
You get " respectables " from your fame rewards and bossing which you can use to respec the points on the skill tree including your relic points just not the actual relic type itself
Locking relic choice at the start of the game is a design decision I won't fully understand. Perhaps their intentions with the system was to make the player feel like their choices matter and that they should think about their decisions more, but it's Torchlight, a game that has never taken itself too serious. Players would benefit more if they knew what they were getting themselves into, rather then winging it first time around. A good first impression always matters the most

Yeah, I'd maybe buy it on sale but this game in its current stage for $45.49 CDN is absurd. No level of spectacular end-game content can justify that. I was fairly excited to play this game too :(.
I played Torchlight ! and II a lot and this TL3 game seems like a poorly done attempt at a mobile game, have watched other gameplay vids and it's just not like the other 2 torchlight games at all and just seems like a mobile game to me.

Nothing compared. You have "maps" that are very limited. Didn't get very far into that before they made a character reset a few months back

Can you change the difficulty (like in D3), or are you locked once you create the character (like in Torchlight 2)?
I remember that you could change difficulty in Torchlight 2 with multiplayer lobbies. You could cheese some achievements this way.
You can change difficulties, but it will only show the lowest difficulty that you have played on your character page

Once you beat Minecraft dungeons you can wipe your own ass. Once you beat this you can walk to school on your own.
Played up to level 23 and went back to TL2.
