    Great video! I fully second this statement : "A year from now or 6 months... you can be in your dream role". You are so spot on that you must be excited about solving problems to do this. And about to tutorial hell. To be clear I think it's totally ok to learn from tutorials but you should try to apply the skills from a tutorial to an original project before you move onto another tutorial.

      And my additional advice would be to always try to take that same project to the next level with something that you learn from another source, like if they introduce you to a new library check out the documents for it and see if there are more functions or other ways to use it.

    Graduating from AWS Re/Start and taking CCP exam in 2 weeks I'm very excited and nervous as well - as my 3 years help desk experience was several years ago.

      I start the AWS re/start program on Monday. I think this is a better route, you get to network and build relationships with the company that's putting the program together and they help you find employment upon completion.

    Docker, Ansible, Terraform, etc. How do I even practice these technologies with actual hands on experience? I am a firm believer that actual hands on experience is always better than theoretical learning/simulation.

    • @AndrewRoe
      @AndrewRoe  2 роки тому

      find a problem and then solve it with these. Want cool build scripts when switching machines? Ansible. Want to build infrastructure as code for multi-cloud environments? Terraform. Want to host an application? Docker and throw it on AWS.

    • @AndrewRoe

      Powershell is practically a must in Azure. I've just recently done the Microsoft AZ-104 and AZ-500. Have to try and sharpen up on powershell now for automation.

    Hi! Thanks for your video man! I have a question... I'm sociologist who is interest in get into the cloud services, I already have the AZ 900 certification and now I'm doing the Az 500 certification course... but as I said, I studied sociology and I know that on IT jobs sometimes doesn't matter your degree, but I want to know if you see on the cloud services spaces for sociologist ... I mean do the clouds vendors need us? I hope were understandable cuz I'm mexican and this is my second language.
    Thanks again!

      Hey! I think getting into cloud is doable by both people with degrees and without. I don't think you have a degree in Sociology will hold you back as long as you continue to pursue certifications and build projects on Github! Hope that answered your question.
