I started Gre prep today and your video came in my suggestion ohh 😮 really great guidance. I subscribed your channel for more videos on GRE but specifically need more guidance on RC in verbal. Please make video on that.
Currently, I find myself in a similar situation-juggling a corporate job from 11 am to 9 pm while gearing up for the GRE exam. Your video appearing in my feed was a welcome boost; it really inspired me. What's your take on the Magoosh platform? Will it adequately prepare me for the exam? I aim to take it within the next 2 months.
Hey, glad I was of help! Magoosh is just a resource, a great one at that. If you follow the routine it provides you (you will be able to set 2 months as your prep time in Magoosh ), and if you diligently practice, and take mock tests, I think its enough. I honestly just used Magoosh, nothing else. All the best!
Hi surmai, i have been preparing since a while for my gre and i have to give it now in a month and im at home currently so i have most time on my hand and i wanted to ask im really intimidated by the test im almost done with my syllabus should i just start giving mocks for the whole month and then give my test
I have a question these days every one is telling more on recession .what is your opinion on that? How did you prepare yourself when you listen to such negative comments that there is a recession, finding job more difficult... The reason behind asking this question because i am just wasting my time in thinking the same thing again and agian and was not able to make decisions out of it 😢
Hey, well recession is a reality today, every country in the world is facing that, India - a little less than others- so it might feel unwise to leave India for jobs abroad at this point of time. But then again, in my case, I am not just going abroad for studying or a career, the experience in itself is calling me. Intermingling with cultures, standing on my own two feet in a country so foreign, having to learn new languages. I am pretty sure that after 2-3 years I will have a personality makeover- a boost in confidence and thus life skills. These things are priceless. Plus, the job market is not dead, and I am confident that I will be able to make it work - call it over optimism or confidence in myself- but that is what kept me from holding back and getting influenced by demotivating comments like the ones you mentioned. Someone said this to me earlier - Life is not just about making a career, it’s also about LIVING. I have been abiding by this. BTW the economy in Germany is one the biggest in the world, better than India at this point. And this is where I will be setting foot first, so even with a practical mindset, I see light at the end of this tunnel. But overall Manasa, I made this decision based mostly on intrinsic motivation. Then everything else seemed to be falling into place as well. I hope this helped :)
Hello, I want to know about GRE subject chemistry(plz confirm it if I'm wrong). Isn't it terminated since April 2023. So I want to know what about chemistry students now. Which test chemistry students should take for international scholarships (in USa ,UK ect ). Patiently waiting for your reply mam 🙏🏻.
Hi Manasa! Thanks for your comment :D I don’t have first hand experience of TOEFL as of now, as I took the IELTS instead. I will be posting a video on IELTS soon :)
This is a motivating video for me who works full time from 8 to 10 pm. And sometimes overtime. I want to ask whether it makes sense to achieve a score like yours if I have a busy job like above, whether I can get satisfactory results if every day for 10 months I spend 130 minutes working on the example questions, only 130 minutes. Because I really don't have time. Please advise
Hi :D It really depends on the priority you assign to your GRE prep. If you really dedicate 130 mins each day for 10 months, it should be more than enough (given that you have the right study resources and are tracking your progress). I think you might be ready before 10 months if you have the right mindset. You see, there are people who achieve their goals in a short amount of time just because of their sincerity and hard work, and then there are people who just aren’t able to achieve their goals even though they are “working on it” (sense the sarcasm) since a long time. What might help you is to dedicate these daily 130 minutes solely for solving example questions and learning the concepts. You should consider learning the vocabulary during the day time whenever you take breaks from work, before going to bed, while having your breakfast. And ofcourse, take as many mock tests as you can. I hope this helps ❤️
@@surmai-somya hi thank you very much for the very clear answer. Actually I only used books from Manhattan and the rest from UA-cam. Do you think it's a good resource? because I was saving to prepare the application and it cost me a lot of money.
Congrats on getting a great score! And thanks for sharing about your Magoosh experience. 😊

I wanna book my slot in September. But I have already started reading 📖.

Less of a advice, More of a Magoosh advertisement
Hey great video, loved your vibe, but could you just mention if the video is sponsored by Magoosh or not ? It would really help your viewers
Hey, thanks! I did mention in the video that it is not sponsored. I’ll make it more evident by adding that in the description:)
Well made and well delivered Surmai!
