I love the Bradley, I was a crewmember on one in 2005 in Iraq with 3rd ACR. I am alive because of that vehicle. I'm so happy to see it being used, and so well. I highly recommend a comedy about its production, 'Pentagon Wars' with Kelsey Grammer, Cary Elwes, John McGinley, and Viola Davis.
I worked a program to replace the Bradley. We tried titanium armor, composite armor, all different locations to put the engine, we always put ourselves out of a job, in my opinion. We came up with something similar to...the Bradley. It's aluminum hull, front engine, and armor configuration is the best compromise for mobility and protection. Standing up through the commander's hatch as we slid sideways down the test track going over 40mph is something i will never forget.
@@rogeranderson8116 I have friends in a Bradley that drove over an IED, it was a big explosive charge in it. They all lived, if the engine and transmission wasn't in front, they would have been toast. The engine access panel got blown out next to the driver, but the worst of it to him was a broken ankle. The engine access panel on top, that weighs around 200+lbs got thrown over 20 feet in front of the vehicle. Its quite possible that if it were an Abrams, the driver would be gone since the driver is in the center of the vehicle. The crater from the blast was large enough for the ramp to get swallowed up in it. I would guess it was a 120 arty shell rigged to blow. But then, I'm no EOD. It was reliable, especially for the miles we put on them in that heat. I always found it funny that the Bradley was to replace the M113, but we "had" one per platoon. 'Had' is in quotes because the mechanics had it more than we did, that thing was always breaking down, and it was only used for a small fraction the time of the Bradleys.
Unfortunately, only one brigade has Bradley, dozens of others use old Soviet infantry fighting vehicles or M113s, many have nothing better than mrap
It's not just the machines. The Ukrainian troops have proven themselves very capable.
Many of them conscripts & forced to fight. America used Ukrainian blood to fight a proxy war against Russia. F'n despicable how the military industrial complex works..now private capital will carve out Ukraine for pennies on the dollar.

I am old enough to remember all the controversy surrounding the Bradley when it was being developed. Good to see it has been successful not only in the desert with lots of air support but also in a brutal theatre like Ukraine.

Yeah, I think the gunner said there was a malfunction or jam. They were trained to shoot at the tanks weak spots and that is what he did. He specifically said "blinded" the tank.

It's confusing why the US has not offered A-10s, which they have a lot of surplus, to Ukraine. Along with F-16 aircover, I would have thought they would be formidable.

The Bradley has already proven itself against Soviet armor. More T-72s were destroyed by Bradleys during the Gulf War than by Abrams tanks. In the Battle of 73 Easting, the Bradley proved itself more than a match for T-72s and BMPs. The TOW missiles are highly effective against tanks, and the autocannon is highly effective against trucks and BMPs.

They love the Bradley for two main reasons: it's an extremely effective weapons platform and it can take multiple hits from things like RPGs and get the crew home, along with the dismounts. Philip Ittner, an American reporter living in Kiev for nearly the whole conflict, tells of himself being alive thanks to Bradleys. He was inside one that was struck by 7 RPGs in Iraq, and didn't get a scratch.

My first night I saw was the 17th and you went to Oildale. and then Yosemite Drive. My Grand parents built and lived in a little house on Lincoln and either Yosemite or Seqouia, I forget, but I was loving waiting for that memory to pass by your camera. It didn't but no big deal. I am at my ranch outdide Lodi and was able to see you drive through one of the three neighborhoods I lived in there as a young boy. Thanks a million!

With aid being held up in the Republican House, our NATO allies have tried to fill the gap. But American aid is still needed to keep Ukraine, and eventually Europe, from being dominated by Russia. Notice that this conflict is not currently limited to Europe. Iran is seeing if it can start its own war. North Korea has fired South Korean ground. Venezuela is claiming that it owns territories from its neighbors. Huthies are bombing the cargo ships. All these countries are best buddies of Russia. If you’ve ever seen the Bradley in action and seen the deadly capabilities, the Bradley has been proven and can literally take out tanks or anything that moves for that matter.
The only place its been in operation its been taken out in friendly fire and was used against a random desert dictators military.

Common sense says you don't counter attack against a larger defensive army. Ukraine is doing the right thing in letting the Russians do the attacking against established defensive positions. This allows Ukraine to hold its own against larger forces. Its also fielding better trained forces which is evening out the odds.

A Whistle Blower Engineer held up the Bradly in the late 1970s before it was released.
The problem was that is was not heavily armored enough, and the magnesium alloy armor would catch on fire.
It could not withstand a hit from the RPGs of that era.
They improved the armor
(he was concerned his son would have to go into battle in one, so he wanted to make sure his son would survive)
That engineer save *thousands of lives*
I exchanged some e-mails with him about 18 years ago.
So everybody owes a debt of gratitude to that engineer.
(Latest version of Bradly armor is far beyond was was built in the late 70s)
(They now have to deal with RPGs with Tandem Warheads and electronic protection systems)

No, he didnt. The full video is around 10 minutes long. The T-90 is fighting against 2 bradleys. He only shoots 3 times and misses all of them. One Bradley retreats, both where hammering the T-90 with dozens of hits without any noticable effect.
Relativly early on a rocket or something alike was shot at the T-90 (not from the Bradleys!) wich seem to damage it's canon, because while remaining fully mobile and still getting hammered by the Bradleys, the T-90 stopped returning fire at that point.
A little later, a second rocket explodes at the T-90 wich IS the likely cause making it going out of control.
That, or one of the many, many, bushmaster rounds from the Bradley finaly pemetrated the predamaged hull.
The T-90 then drives against a huge tree and the crew flees (wich make it seem more likely that the Bushmaster couldnt penetrate the hull at any point).
Why the fuck aren't we sending all of the Bradley's that we have to Ukraine? We do not use Bradley fighting vehicles in the US military anymore. So what is the problem with sending them to our ally who does really needs them to survive......
Even if its just a 25mm the rate of fire is 10 times faster than a regular 120mm or 125mm it makes alot of firepower can't even imagine if they had a 40mm mounted on it !🤔
