Wait i thought that in TM black John Doe as also on the most wanted list. So Calypso shot him. And technically with Yellow Jacket, controlling a corpse and pretending it's still alive isn't healthy. By destroying the remote, the kid now has to face reality that his father is that and has to get over it. Him being kidnapped to be trained as the twisted metal star is pretty messed up.
#8 only Mr. Grim's father dies from the crash, Mr. Grim is killed by his younger self which if he grows up the same way would likely wish for his father to make it to the event, thus making it a time loop of the 2 wishes over and over as long as Mr. Grim wins
Yeah I miss spoke, I meant to say that "his dad dies anyway" not All of them die. I guess me including the scene after the car accident shows that as well haha
@@VicariousNickk well, in fact all 3 die, that's still right, but not because of the crash like you said, Grimm's father dies because of the crash, adult Grimm dies in the hands of child Grimm and child Grimm would live forever in that time loop (as long as he always wins the TM contest), but what if that accident make Grimm have a second thought (not getting in the TM contest in the first place), how he would die as an adult without being sent back in time and experience Grimm's ending in TM (2012)? I actually believe in Thumper's ending in Twisted Metal 3, Bruce not only got his head turned into an ornament, but also his soul ends up possessing the car Thumper itself and after somehow upgrading from a low rider to a caddlac, Bruce now under the name of Super Thumper enters Twisted Metal 4 to return to his normal body.
Really can't believe you didn't do anything from Twisted Metal: Head On! The Spectre driver in that one is crushed to death by a tidal wave of money. The driver named Catfish wants to hunt Calypso, thinking he's an untrained city boy, only to be outfoxed by him and brutally gunned down. The driver of Twister demands to see her sister, the original driver of Twister, alive. Only to find out this means her sister is now a zombie.
Can you make your own ranking video on every Twisted Metal ending from worst to best? I know Drew Dessadoo and Tactical Bacon Productions already made one, but they’re so drastically different from one another, and I’d like to see your take on these endings.
Calypso is more like Twisted Metal’s evil Djinn who granted the one’s three wishes and was freed from his lamp or whatever. #alwaysbespecificwhenwishing
Solid list. An honorable mention from each game would be Roadkill in TM1 (the live action version sees him seemingly connect with his squad after being sent back in time, only to be killed off screen by Calypso), Hammerhead in TM2 ("I sure do hope these first class tickets are refundable." 😂😂😂), Outlaw in TM3 (such a mess of a game, and then a nice big middle finger for beating it. Awesome.), Microblast in TM4 (was he turned into the statue? Was there a statue built of him for winning? These are the questions that have been floating through my brain since 1999.), Twister in Small Brawl (the implication of being launched into space with nothing protecting you is terrifying), Manslaughter in Black (the note legit just says Screw You, Love Calypso on it 😂😂😂😂😂), and then Sweet Tooth in 2012 (not getting that sweet final kill AND being buried alive? Needles got screwed big style!)
Poor Firestarter, i always thought he had the most horrible way to go, and not only that, his ending is pretty much a non sequitur, since he wanted to have a barbecue with his friends, and not only "he's in the menu too" (i don't get Calypso twisting Firestarter's words there), also there aren't any other people other than the driver of Firestarter, he didn't ask to be the menu in any way shape or form, and no friends were to be seen in the ending, that's when i hated Calypso the most
I mean I would also have put Dollface and Sweet Tooth from 2012 where he essentially kills them both. Something interesting tho is that in 2012 the name of Dollface is Krista Sparks. This is weird because in Twisted Metal 2, Krista Sparks is the name of Calypso’s daughter. But in 2012 she is just some random model.
And in TM: Head On every day Calypso visits his heavily wounded and comatose daughter. He wants her to wish a recovery in TM, but she scolds him instead.
I always viewed TMB's Yellow Jacket as kind of a metaphor as in "We all lose loved ones, but time will heal and we need the strength to move on." I always thought Calypso carrying him away was also a symbol for the kid to move on with his life and realize his purpose. Which in this case is fucked up to be the new contest host.
@@kehobrien999 Yellowjacket is very much story of the five stages of grief. Denial: Kid cannot believe his father died. Anger: They took my father away from me! mr grimms character selection image in tmb always got me cause in the cutscene it does look like a mask but on the selection it actually looks like he has a skull for a head
In Mr. Grimm 2012 they dont all die in the crash, his father dies again like he did in the past. However, in this Mr. Grimm and his past self survive the crash but Mr. Grimm is badly injured. His past kid self finds the gun his dad hid under the seat and shoots his future self Mr. Grimm
TM3 may seem to get a ton of hate, but I loved it as a kid. Even though their wishes sounds laughably weak, I thought the cutscenes looked amazing for the late 90s
Calypso is very much the kind of antagonist that is very much willing to help out those who seek revenge on people who were wronged. Especially looking at all the revenge plots in Black that all ended with the wronged getting their revenge. He also is very much more willing to twist and screw with those that have selfish and self serving wishes. Also might be a kinda hot take but the Yellowjacket ending has a tiny bit of good in it if you ask me. Charlie’s son was coping with the loss of his father with the machine he was controlling him with. Calypso breaking the machine is forcing Charlie’s son to accept the loss of his father and push past it. Does it make Calypso good? Not really but I do see the ending as sort of an analogy for the loss of a loved one.
Is there the possibility of a list where Calypso is "nice"? He is well known for the monkey's paw antics, but I know there are some of him being wholesome.
I'm really don't feel sorry for many of them. Remember that many of them are competing in a Death Match that is causing at lot of deaths to every corner without a care in the world, so why should I feel sorry for them?
