I've listened to this piece without seeing the score, and I just though the choral texture in the beginning was very interesting: it sounds like a choir with a piano pedal sustaining each chord into next chord. Now seeing the score, I finally understand it. It's almost like two choirs alternating. Very interesting texture! And the effect is very magical! I love it!
Wow! This is amazing! I think I need to hear it in a concert, I need to hear better the spazialization effect in the first part and the mass of that cluster over my body.
I love Ola Gjeilo and this piece is beautiful as an audio experience but it does not match the words at all. The music is very self absorbed instead of being a worship of God or a cry out to God. I came across this song in a playlist while I was doing other work, so didn't know the artist, the title or anything else, simply heard the music and the lyrics, which were quite incongruous. The music seems to be pretty for the sake of itself and doesn't suit the words. Take for example "Aurora's theme" which is an Agnus Dei - this is truly music matching the meaning of the words sung.
Interesting. I think of the music as more introspective and abstract. I've never thought the phrase "Kyrie eleison" as worshipful, but as a request, pleading or yearning. I don't think this music is incongruous with asking God for mercy. It is solemn and ethereal, yet hopeful and trusting.
You don't think Fear of God matches with such an atmospheric piece? The title already implies that it is about the magnificency and power of God's work in the universe, and the danger it has on us, small and fragile beings. However the title is not needed to make the connection. I highly doubt the composer made the song without keeping this in mind. I think you're the one who can't add them together.
It's amazing how perfectly the song paints its title. This will always be one of the more memorable pieces I've sung.

This is truly elegant design. Using simple content, mixed simply, but all is effective and skillful.
Magnificent! Moving music and lovingly performed.
This is pure heaven

There are more than one dimension to prayers.
God is a genocidal maniac, this piece is too beautiful for him.
I just heard this for the first time
I'm unfamiliar with this type of music but I think it's truly beautiful😬
