Wow, it’s beautiful there. This video is living proof that a dude living in a truck camper on a beautiful snowy day can, without accuracy, successfully prepare and bake delicious banana bread while making it look fun. 😄🍞 Stay warm, Kevin. ❄🌡
Hey Snowy Owl, I watched this video with some friends (who will now become new subs for you) and I appreciate how fun your personality is. It is nice to see you just relaxing and baking. I do not bake, but I can cook. Also, the interior of your truck camper looks huge. I know that you are short, but still. 😉 It reminds me of the interior of a good size boat. Tbh, I've never seen a person bake in any type of camper. You can always get a magnetic sign and when you need to make a couple of bucks, put it out on the side of the camper, "Chef Kevin's Bakery Delights" 🛻👨🏻🍳🍞 😎 Don't worry about things/topics to cover. Just be yourself. That is who we subscribed to.
I am an RVing snowbird, watching from my Florida RV resort, and I am thinking - so glad I am retired so I don't have to deal with that #$@%/ snow any more! Then I saw you pour the hot butter into the bowl with the eggs and I was thinking - he's going to have scrambled eggs! And it turned out great! Enjoy! I must admit, I have my own form of crazy. My idea of luxury is to pull my RV into a Walmart parking lot, then go into the store to get a frozen pizza and a bottle of wine. I bake the pizza in my oven, and enjoy a fresh-baked, hot pizza with a glass of wine. If that isn't luxury, then I don't know what is!
Atta boy. Banana bread is one of my favorite. Except my wife makes with chocolate chips for grandkids. And without chips for me. Your videos getting better young man 🇨🇦🇨🇦
My Dad would wait until bananas were that colour before he'd eat them, or maybe a bit blacker ..... My sister-in-law was tidying up at Mum and Dad's house and saw black bananas in the fruit bowl. She went to throw them away and he stopped her, telling her that they weren't ready for him to eat yet. Apparently, that's when the sugar content is highest and the way he preferred them. 😂😂😂
Bananas with blackened skin like that make the best banana nut bread! It's always best to mash the bananas with a fork prior to mixing in everything else. My late husband was the cook in our house and he made the best from scratch banana nut bread and once he used chocolate chips instead and he ate that load alone. If it ain't got walnuts, I ate eatin' it. But that loaf did look like it was well baked. Maybe the sour cream played a role in that? My late husband never used sour cream, interesting. Congrats on your banana chocolate chip loaf! And Happy Thanksgiving!
Awesome vid. Loved the baking. To conserve a little water, use the largest pot you used as the sink. The stainless bowl in this case, wash the dishes in that and a quick rinse of everything after.
I think these super loooong stories before you get to an actual cooking section are made for search engines and also to keep you for as long as possible on a given website :) Prisoners of algorithms :))
😂Love the whisk jokes! Banana bread sounds good. Mmmmm. Looks like it turned out good. I bet it smells yummy! I love that you can bake in your truck! It's so cozy too. Canada is a very beautiful country.
Welcome to Calgary! 🇨🇦 Here's a little tip for keeping your brown sugar soft: before closing the bag, pop a slice of bread inside. 🍞 It works like magic!
Kevin🤠great job….now I my hungry for Banana Bread….😳but no Bananas. I did make a Homemade Chocolate Pie this morning, crust, pudding and Merengue👍🏻 My all time Fave. Of course, it could never be as good as my Mom used to make😇🥰 Blessings to you, be careful up there in all the snow.
@GaleGuthrie-ll2if my Aunt Mel ( Melrose ) was a pie chef. Her specialty was cream pies. Another lady prepared the fruit pies. She made 1 each... banana cream , chocolate cream , coconut cream , and lemon merengue pies for the ROLLING STONES as my cousin, her son, was the chief of security for Keil Auditorium in St.Louis and was in charge of their security at the venue. About a month later,,, the door bell rang and the delivery guy had a HUGE Fruit basket full of fruit and roses 🌹 . The card said THANK YOU FOR THE PIES...MICK AND THE BOYS !
I think one of the reasons they make the recipes so long is so that they can pack a lot of ads in and boost their income. Usually there’s a link that says jump to recipe. There is usually a print recipe option. So I print the recipe to PDF and store it in Dropbox. I set my recipe folder to be available off-line so i don’t have to use precious data to download it when I want to use it in the future. With the PDF, you can also add your own comments or tweaks that the recipe needs. My winter project is to PDF the contents of the binder of recipe clippings I have.
My friend and her boyfriend have a RV they pull with his truck and it has a dishwasher and it is bigger but they love the RV life , his job takes him to do different job sites for months at a time and my friend can work from home so they let her work from the RV now which is very nice of them 😊the banana bread looks yummy so proud of you
You could very well be the master chef you claim to be. The cake came out perfect with just two bananas. It gave you no problem coming out of the pan. And you didn't even feel the need to test its doneness in the middle before you dug in👌!
I just found your videos today and have watched 5 of them already. Your Christmas decorations were great. You are living the dream I often dreamt of when I was younger, but could never afford it. Now I'm too old so I live it through UA-camrs that live like you. Life is short! Live life to the fullest. Once you hit 40 time flies.
When I make banana bread I put all the ingredients in the bowl apart from the bananas which are thoroughly mashed before they are added and leave the chocolate chips out also, then mix with a mixer, lastly add the chocolate chips then stir them in and put it in the oven
Hi Kevin, welcome to Calgary. Your Banana loaf looked wonderful, but just so you know, propane ovens are always cooler than gas or electric ovens, add 15 to 30 mins to your recipe. For your brown sugar if you need it right away and you have a microwave oven put water into a container, about a cup, into the oven with the bag of sugar and run for a minute or so, sugar will soften then add a piece of bread to the bag for storage. Stay warm and have a good day.
What I don't like is when you go for a recipe online and they give you their life history before they tell you the recipe. I use six bananas in mine and I never separate the ingredients I just throw it all together and it always comes out great. I usually only use brown sugar not white sugar. I always put in chocolate chips vanilla and cinnamon. sour cream is to keep it moist. I do it for banana and blueberry muffins. I also put in a tablespoon of cornstarch. Make some fluffy for some reason and I only do that with muffins This morning I made peanut butter cookies and totally forgot to turn on the oven. And I do it all the time Also you are correct. I have a stove in an oven but I use my toaster oven
You are awesome! I loved this video. I laughed, I talked to the screen as I watched you make some rookie baking mistakes (like opening the oven before the timer to see if it was cooking, letting the heat out only to make it take longer to not get done when it should have)...I was warning you, but alas this was pointless. You are so natural, sincere and cute, which made it all the more fun. Keep doing what you are doing, being you. It is inspiring. P.S, I have been watching you for a few months and this was the best!
Kevin “Master Comedian” & “Masterbaker” Wald rolled into one! You should invest in a $2.00 Wal-Mart oven thermometer to hand inside your oven. I’m willing to bet your oven didn’t hit 325° and that’s why it took longer to bake
I always enjoy your videos...but this one was extra special! I love to bake, but you've inspired me to work on my "while you work" comedy routine. You are a true delight to watch.
One other thing Kevin...we purchased Tupperware containers for all our dry goods that fit nicely in our pantry. It was as a smart purchase FOR US. Also, no rodent problems.
Hey Kevin great job next time what might help you out with the temperature is go get a digital thermometer with the lead cable that you can just place inside the oven that way you know the exact temperature of the inside of the oven
This video made me laugh out loud! The banana bread episode! Here I was wondering why you left the pizza stone in the oven...I was thinking it was blocking the heat...but it was evening it out. Hell you're a better baker than me! Your recipe was really good. Made a nice loaf of bread. You learn something new every day!!
A little tip: there is usually a link near the top of the recipe page to go to the recipe, or print the recipe, which will also bring it up in its pure form 😊. Another tip - put a half piece of bread in the bag. It will be soft by the next day. Even store your brown sugar that way, as a rule. You'll have to change out the bread when it gets dry. The sugar absorbs the moisture from the bread. Also, if a recipe calls for brown sugar, it just plain has to be brown sugar.
You're making me a bit envious, as my Bigfoot has been in my RV garage since August, due to all of the house and yard projects I had to take care of this fall. I sure do miss using the camper. I like having an oven in the camper since I can still bake or reheat items without the need of a noisy generator. I need to get braver and try baking something from scratch, like you did. This was another great episode!
Kevin, you’re so great! And you bake too ❤! I also hate looking up recipes online! Thanks for sharing your time with us all! your banana bread looks delicious!
I like the Ninja food space saver you can cook a whole meal in it , I do chicken / salmon or any meat you want and 2 sides such asparagus and sliced potatoes with seasoning
Marry me. I wanted that banana bread, it looked awesome and I could imagine the smell in the camper. I really enjoyed this video, well done Kevin 😊 I need to make banana bread now ❤
Screen shot then add to your notes app. Title “Banana Bread” so you can quickly reference. And I too like to bake. I plan to retire to an RV with an oven. Love the smell of freshly backed goods!! Great video Kevin! Kevin 😊
You just made my day Kevin, and your sense of humor just added to it, loved your version of making the Banana Bread anyways, lol take care and although tomorrow is Thanksgiving here, have a very Blessed day my friend...
Tip when cooking banana bread you need 3 very very ripe bananas ( the peel is getting brown and the banana is getting mushy or you won’t get enough banana flavor coming thru.
Good for you, banana bread. Your camper will smell sooo good. Just got home from Calgary and more snow than Edmonton. Good to see you enjoying the snowy weather….

Put a piece of bread in your brown sugar bag and close it up . Leave it in there and your sugar will soften up for next time. Love your videos keep it up✨️💥💫

Great, fun video! Loved the cooking segment! Are there any Canadian dishes that you really like? Cook them for us! Enjoyed this a lot! Beautiful snow (even in a parking lot). Here, on the coast of northern Maine, no snow yet. Usually it’s January before we get snow. I got a kick out of seeing your dishwashing system: 1 fork washed, rinsed, dried, and put away; then, 1 measuring cup, same steps, etc. I’m fascinated by how most everything that’s done in a house can be done in the tiny space of a camper with far fewer utensils.

Its the sour cream. It makes it softer. I dont use that. Also makes it lighter. But i bet its good. The pizza stone be amazing. Id love one. Good for bread too. Im a baker n a cook lol
Your humour was on fire today!
Hey Kevin put I slice of bread into the bag of brown sugar it will make it soft again
I was going to say the same thing.
Brown sugar gets hard pretty quick ! No matter how I stored it but I’ll try the bread in it from now on !
Usually they have a bar that says “jump to recipe” just click on it.
Wow, it’s beautiful there. This video is living proof that a dude living in a truck camper on a beautiful snowy day can, without accuracy, successfully prepare and bake delicious banana bread while making it look fun. 😄🍞 Stay warm, Kevin. ❄🌡

Some people are built different! 😂
I use plain yogurt instead of sour cream…. Makes it moist!!
To soften your Brown Sugar, put a piece of bread in it and tie up the bag. Nice and soft when you go to use it again….throw away the dry bread.😊
Don’t brown the butter just melt, turn the fire down to low! 😂👍🏻
Hot butter will cook the eggs, so no baking is required 😂😂😂
Looks great.....enjoy with your coffee....cooking with Kevin!

When you asked if anyone has a dishwasher in their camper… my husband would say…” My wife”. 😂
Lmao
You Don't need a Dishwasher when there is only One or Two people. Don't be so Lazy!!

Yes Chef Kevin, hate scrolling to find a recipe. Start your own cooking show. Lol😊

lol. Better to bake, than to Get baked.😂that odour lasts even longer.
I can smell that fresh baked banana bread all the way down here in Prince Edward Island

Currently making sausage rolls while watching this video. I go for the savoury stuff over the sweet.
No snow here in Comox. Here you can golf and ski on the same day. Golf at Crown Isle or the other courses and then Ski Mt. Washington.

You can microwave the brown sugar to soften it up.
Be better Nice and warm with a smear of fresh butter. 😂😂
This was a great video, humor, suspense and, good food! (I knew you were going to succeed ;)

@@KevinWaldsAdventures Thank you so much !!!
Tip when cooking banana bread you need 3 very very ripe bananas ( the peel is getting brown and the banana is getting mushy or you won’t get enough banana flavor coming thru.
awesome banana bread 🍞 on a beautiful snowy ❄️ day 😋
Welcome to Calgary! Good video!
A cookbook would be a great investment. You could plan out your recipes for a week. Cut down on expenses !
Good for you, banana bread. Your camper will smell sooo good. Just got home from Calgary and more snow than Edmonton. Good to see you enjoying the snowy weather….
I don't bake but I can appreciate a good banana bread 😋
Such an awesome video!!!Thanks for the entertainment!
You make adorable videos bud.
Just use 3 ripe bananas and yellow cake mix follow cake mix directions. Easy peasy.
When you search a recipe, usually there’s a box that says jump to recipe, tap on that next time.
I just made 4 loaves of banana bread and 4 loaves of pumpkin bread with half jumbo raisin, half dried cranberries in it. I keep one out a freeze the rest. I bet it smelt great in your camper! Great video!

The most important thing you need while winter camping is propane and electricity of some sort
I enjoyed your cooking show. Do more please. 😊

Great, fun video! Loved the cooking segment! Are there any Canadian dishes that you really like? Cook them for us! Enjoyed this a lot! Beautiful snow (even in a parking lot). Put a a slice or two of bread in the brown sugar for a day. The moisture will transfer to the sugar making it all nice again
I can't believe I have to tell you this...but UA-cam is the greatest place for recipes. There are probably ten recipes for Banana Bread! ;)
PS -Sourcream is a nice fat and adds moisture without thinning the batter. There might be other reasons too-
Wisk it for the biscuits 😂😂😂 I paused 8 seconds before complete shut down of laughter the rest of the jokes in the video kmsl stoop
Its perfect. I can tell good job ❤
Kevin you and your Banana Bread 🥪🍞 are awesome, you rock.❤❤
No snow in Ottawa and I'm perfectly fine with that..not fine with chocolate chips in banana bread lol
