If that were my bass I’d ditch the low B string, slap a .25 gauge string on there for the highest string and tune it like a bass VI just because of the beautiful string spacing and the tone this thing has. But that’s just me cuz I have no use for B standard tuning on a bass haha
My thoughts too. Basically treat it like a 8 string without the highest 2. Cause who actually uses those anyway? I'd actually buy this if it wasn't so expensive. I have really big hands and was always thinking of making something like this. In Explorer form obviously
Sounds how I want it to sound. It's highly functional. Price is $2990 USD. Still kinda torn about selling it, don't really want to, that's why it's so expensive. Must be some glitch or exchange rate issue if you saw $4272.
@@Vetustum Oh, my countries dollar is worth a lot less than yours lol I wasn't trying to be a dick, like I said it's a cool bass. There's just Ibanez 6's out there for half the price that sound very good.. It's all subjective though. Love your cryptopsy covers man.
@@jim3541 I had an Ibanez btb, gigged with it. I disliked the string spacing, the neck, the bartolini pickups and I thought it was ugly as fuck as time passed. Not a fan of how any of the newer ones look or sound either. Tried the bartolini, Aguilar, nordstrand, and fishman fluence varieties. I tend to think the sound I dislike has to do with their monorail bass bridges, maybe it's their preamp or something.
@@Vetustum That's totally fair, you seem to like a pretty "unique" bass tone imo. Personally I love the tone of your bass on your Mutant Christ cover but I honestly hate it on the Arise cover. it's pretty clanky but it's so noisy and trebley lol 😅 no hate , all preference
I choose a bass tone based on function exclusively. Not any relatively arbitrary subjective ideas. It depends on why I'm playing in that moment, testing some concept, technique or software. Arise cover was functionally testing one of several new tone presets, which I created from a plugin I recently redownloaded, for a band I'll be playing with. Function was to hear each note with clarity, in short.
seems interesting how knobs are so close and the setup at the headstock
Sounds tremendous in your hands. Really curious to see (hear) what you move on to if/when this moves
Sounds neat.
Man, you better mean it if you pull that thing out on stage!!!
💯 Rutherford backs it up. But whoever buys it definitely needs to back it up, if they bring it out.
What brand is this bass please?

depending on the scale length id ditch the high c and toss on a low F# for F# standard

Nice bass
But can you play the Barney Miller theme?
Sick bass, $4,272 seems a bit expensive considering how it sounds though lol
