We needed the first hint to reassure us that there were actual spiders on the box, then we found them quickly (the number three tipped me off to look at the three tabs!). The clues at the end of the tunnels was soooooo cool! I love it when we start ripping up the box. It gets so exciting at the end!!

I totally agree, and I think the spiders are very cleverly hidden in so much as I had failed to notice them in advance of this day! :)

If I had not noticed the spiders way early on (just by random chance), I would have been in the same boat.
What a fantastic puzzle. Really made up for the less than inventive "back of door" puzzle from yesterday.
This was a true to brand; destroy the box!

Yes, it was really clever to have the spiders on the tabs, and really clever to have the lights at the ends of the tunnels. My one critique is that I wished the first hint had been more helpful - it basically just repeated what was already on the riddle cards. Knowing I was looking for actual pictures of actual spiders would have been good, or a hint about where they were - or both! Hint 2 simply tells you directly.

Glad you got there in the end!

Haha, yes - although you can't fully see from the video how much searching time I cut out before I gave up and took a hint... (my hint: it was a long time!). :)

lol It's like a pantomime - 'It's behind you!' trying to help you find the spiders

Haha - yes! Had you seen them before? I wish I had! :)

@drgareth yeah I saw the spiders a few days prior thinking, oh that's a nice subtle touch to those tabs

I had to go to the hint book to find the spiders and even when I did find them, I could hardly see them, but I did eventually get the code. Today’s puzzle was quite unique.

Loved this puzzle! I had just happened to notice the spiders on day one when I opened the box so I was lucky that way. I feel like you might have spoiled something showing the Northern Light but that's ok.

Ooh, I didn't think of that - I had seen them peeking out from the sides of the box as I moved it around already on previous days, although I DID find one interesting thing on the calendar that I did not include in case it was a spoiler! In fact I think I commented on them in a previous video too. A very rare criticism for me is that it is dangerous to refer to ripping the calendar and Northern Lights and to have the Northern Lights on the calendar for a different day... that didn't seem very well thought through!

We couldn’t find the spiders at all so, as we knew the candles were important, we pulled the calendar open there and found the numbers inside (without using a torch light or the tunnels). Not the right way to do it but we got the right answer! 😊

I think if I wasn't filming the calendar I would have done the same too, to be honest. I would then have tried to back-engineer how the puzzle had been intended to work, and maybe found them then...! :)

I found them on day 1 and couldn't let go of them mentally. I kept thinking it was something about the way they walked but nothing like the way they made it. You did a great solve though. Very rebellious and imaginative 😊
