The Lofree Flow Lite is a new low-profile keyboard that's actually pretty good. And it sounds better than you might think. Right now you can get it at half the price of other low-profile keyboards.

Update: The keyboard works on Linux, just not the software.
Everything works on Linux, except for GTA5 Online. :D
The dozens of Linux users that watch your channel appreciate the update.
@@Jackofafewtrades I'm one of them and I appreciate the update. Now they just need to make their software work for us
@@boyscout399 so am I! Haha. Yeah, if only the customisation software worked on Linux... I'm a huge QMK/VIA advocate because of its Linux compatibility.
@@Jackofafewtrades and that's why I'll stick with the keychron
The tape mod does wonders for this keyboard. I will say, I did a custom with GMMK barebones, tecsee yellow medium switches (not the LOWEST profile, but much lower than standard switches), o-rings, gateron low profile stabs, womier low profile keycaps, poron stickers under the switches, and a thicker shelf liner inside to make it a little less hollow sounding. That combo is quieter, and has a deeper thock, and to me is a much more pleasant sound. However, that's DIY. This keyboard, in the discounted kickstarter price, seems worth it. But once that thing hits $130, I would suggest the ones I went with. It's just such a pleasant sounding combo, particularly those yellow mediums.
Tape mod can make any trash keyboard (like my ROG Azoth) sound better, though I had to remove the battery and just use it wired because battery + tape mod = fire risk.
And here is another great keyboard without ISO distribution 😫
it's so good to see regular uploads again, makes me happy.
It would be great if you took some time to test these out on Linux before saying they don't work. 99.9% of boards are going to work in Linux, just not the software for configuring. If the board can function as a proper USB HID, Linux is going to work with it. The problems usually only happen when the keyboard isn't compliant with the USB HID standard, and require software on the system to function. Off the top of my head the Keychron K4 at release, and a few Logitech boards way back when they had the roamer switches. Even then, they mostly worked, and keychron solved that in a firmware update after the fact.
You could drop a Linux live distro on a USB drive, and just boot it off of USB without installing it, to test these boards. The blanket statement of not supported, or won't work, or might work, just get rid of it, and check it. The worst thing that could happen is you like Linux and use it more.
@@EvanPrentice I made the same live USB suggestion in comments on a previous video haha.
If I recall, I think you have a background related to ergonomics/workplace therapy (that last one might not be a thing)? With that in mind (and correct me if I'm wrong), from an ergonomics/RSI perspective, do low-profile keyboards have any benefits over "standard" keyboards?
I ask as a software developer who types a LOT.
It's cool how the righthand row of keys to accommodate a full arrow cluster has almost become standard now. I personally use TouchCursor or Karabiner or QMK to implement SpaceFN to give me arrow keys on the home row, but I still appreciate the improvement in design on basic keyboards (and I do still use the arrow cluster occasionally).
Betty, I am loving your mom energy. I have always enjoyed your content, but right now I am absolutely blow away by your way of presentation. Thanks for the video.
I can't stand the feeling of typing on a low profile keyboard. I need that key travel, and space between the keys to navigate while I'm typing!
I guess that's a moot point though, as this keyboard's layout is missing far too many keys to be usable for my use case. My usual complaint of "I need BOTH the left AND right Windows keys, plus the Context key," plus this layout is just too cramped for me.
Glad you covered it though, I'm sure there are quite a few buyers out there who will need something exactly like this!
The logitech MX Mechanical is the first mechanical keyboard I tried, which is low profile. It'd be nice to see that included in the comparison video that you have coming up.
When you're so early the guy who timestamps the sound test isn't here yet.. 😭

@@MostlyAFK thank you 😭💀🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for mentioning the USB adapter to bring the dongle closer to the keyboard. I'm using a wireless keyboard which doesn't connect reliably at really short distances. I never considered putting the dongle on a cable like that.
I think we should get more low profile keyboards that use Kailh Choc V2s cuz they're just so much better than the Gateron LP switches overall.
Man, I am so tempted to get one. I didn't like the restriction of what switches I was limited to at work and I didn't want to spend on other pricey keyboards for work, so I made one with full size switches and lowered the case (DIY) as much as I could.
I love low profile keyboards because I have fat fingers! Less travel == less accidental keypresses on adjacent keys! 2-3mm travel is perfect!
I also love the flat keycaps on low profile! With fat fingers in the WASD grip, your ring finger is on the left side of the A, and the index finger on the right side of the D. Those big tapers on full profile keyboards feel terrible!
Please don’t only make light low profiles! I’d like a chunky full CNC aluminum low profile keyboard! And give me alllll the switch and keycap options.
I will pay 300$ for an all out low profile full CNC keyboard. Tenkeyless for me please :)
Currently on a fully modded Keychron K1 Max. Love your vids!
i usually tape mod my keyboards, but i think this is the 1st time that the no tape mod sounds better. probably because its a low profile and has to be treated differently. i will be buying the bigger one for travel and mobile work keyboard.
I miss the curve of the key caps of the "normal" ones. I don't like braided cords. The software I don't care about. I never use it. As long as I know how the backlit works, I'm happy.
I bought the Lofree Edge as an early backer, and my only complaint about it is the font. This $79 follow-up is a steal!
For me what was missing on flow was the volume knob.
The lite version looks great.
That lofree flow lite with the hades switches sounded CRAZY!!!!
for me the issue was in games. bought an expensive brand keyboard that didn't register more than 2-3 buttons at once which was a nightmare but it had "1000 hz polling rate"
love ur vids! quick correction, the kickstarter ends in two days, in nov is when they plan to ship!
I had filmed the video over a week ago. Unfortunately, it took us so long to edit and publish it.
no black color keyboard, would be perfect keyboard for me.
Switch and click is back and going strong
Low profile keyboards are more comfortable to use in my opinion. I bought one a year ago and have never looked back.
I love that they have a pink one now!!!
i wish they had enough love for tactile to offer it. i almost pulled the trigger until i went back to rewatch and head that you said they're all linear. oh well! thanks for informing me/us (:
They would include an L shaped cable to allow you to have the keyboard on the laptop deck while you charge it. I use a L shaped cable with the laptop that I have for use with my laptop.
I like the quiet keys, I put the Akko V3 Penguin tactile silent switches on my RK TKL and it is so quiet. I like the low profile keyboards for using on my TV's multi media computer, I use a logitech K360 right now but looking fo ra quieter one this good fit to take its place. Thanks for the great info, I'd need to replace those switches too...
Please review the RK N80 as well ya. Thanks.
@@afhmh2780 I second this!
Cool review, thanks. What is your more favourite color of the Flow Lite?
Marble
Oddly enough the Logitech G515 with the Kailh pre lubed switches sound pretty nice and feels really good as well. No hot swap though. I also just tried the Gateron LP Jades in a Air V2 and it really helped the sound on that one quite a bit. Definitely need to check out the Lofree!
Can you also look at the low profile IQunix Magi65 in your comparison?
I'm very interested in how the Kailh Whale low profile switches sound and feel
i can believe you haven't got your hands on the gravastar keyboards
A suggestion (as a keyboard lover and new tech lover): When any company offer a NEW, always ask “WHAT PROBLEM IS THIS SOLVING IN MY LIFE?”
Don’t get me wrong, “COOL FACTOR” is legitimate reason to buy something new. Just don’t confuse “it’s cool” with anything new or different.
Surprisingly enough, this does solve a problem. A lot of other low profile keyboards don't have backlighting, other than Keychron but I don't like their low profiles personally, so the Flow Lite checks a bunch of boxes
Good keyboard layout
I like the scroll wheel idea because I just use the mouse for the scroll wheel a lot of the time. They should make one where it's near the arrow keys.
Those hades switches sound awesome!
I love your videos now i customize my keyboards I was think to buy the akko yellow cream v3 pro is it good? Because I was looking for creamy switches let me know if there is not expensive creamy switches
I like the white one over all the rest!
You're not sure why anyone would buy the flow? Maybe some ppl just prefer aluminum over plastic? Or the fact the lite does not offer any tactile switch options? Or just the nicer looking flow with uniform bezels all around? Or the lite does not offer any darker color options?
SemiPro Tech actually has a much more fair and balanced review of the keyboard.
Hi switch and click I got scammed while buying a machanical keyboard the manufacturer told me that it's an machanical keyboard but it wasn't so how I prevent this in future
Ask them what switches they use?
Can you make a review on the crush 80 and compare it to the evo 80?
I hope they upgrade the flow with the upgrades of the lite
NuPhy Air60 HE is the Goat of low profile "GAMING" keyboard 😀
When the kickstarter is over will it be available on Amazon?
In the past, their previous Kickstarters eventually turn into in-stock products.
@@SwitchandClickOfficial cool, thanks!
No ISO, no use for me. Looks great, though. But I can't use ANSI.
Keychron K2 HE??????
Really hoping we can see the Sk75 in a review. Love your videos!
Womier?
@@SwitchandClickOfficialyes!
Yes!
I’m so happy you’re back 🥲
The thunbnail is a crime
Umm how is it not sponsored if the kickstarter hasn’t finish yet and you somehow get to have the keyboard first?
They provided a prototype model but didn't pay me to make this video.
This seems really nice, however I would prefer a metal case and no forehead.
@@temanor lofree flow
@@ivanwong3079 That has it's own flaws. Not to mention, Lofree doesn't offer a Nordic layout.
Nice video
This thing gets annihilated by the wooting 80he
If you're seeing this, you weren't first.
This is a refreshing way to say “first” ngl
Creative
At least i was first to reach the ovum
:mad_emoji:
Please start using video sections from youtube. I just want to listen to the keyboard and don't want to search through the entire video
we see the nuphy air 60 he. show us.😏
What was that monstrosity you showed in the beginning?
Keychron v6 max? Or v10
@@SwitchandClickOfficial the v10 full size I assume
Cheap insinuates flimsy and bad. Inexpensive is probably what you needed in the thumbnail
Oooooo nice
nuphy air 60 he clears and its not even close, anyone iterestead in a better low profile keyboard with hall effect switches should look it up, the title of this video is for that keyboard not this one, this one is meh compared to that
Linux can't catch a break
It would totally work in Linux, just not the configuration software. I use all sorts of keyboards on Linux. RK, Epomaker, Drop, hand made QMK/VIA based stuff, etc.. In fact the only one I ever had an issue with was a Keychron K4, the original release one, which was resolved with a simple udev rule, and eventual firmware update.
200th like!!!
she gets in 10 minuets more views than me in 2 days
She really said this keyboard wasn’t getting enough attention. I’ve seen 10+ people post videos on this same board in the last 2 weeks.
Shame about linux
First
I’m here but not first
Its a kickstarter so no you can't actually buy it and no ISO so waste of time. You really need to have a no Kickstarter policy and how on earth do you have one if its not sponsored? Your channel doesn't need nonsense like this.
they had a 10k goal and they're already at 900k. campaign ends in 2 days. pretty sure that means it will be up for sale at some point
Sorry life made you so bitter. Hope it gets better soon!
