Great video. Leaves in a bowl is one of my favorite ways to drink my morning tea and it has that simple meditative quality the friends in the video spoke about that helped me so much during the last year. I did a 100 days leaves in a bowl only and helped me not only to appreciate tea from different perspectives but also to apply those newfound feelings to my relationship with myself. You become what you pay attention to i guess.
That was really beautiful, thank you everyone. Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴.
I would sooner perish than exist without Tcha! I adore it in all of its variations and preparations! When i have the entire day to myself, I really enjoy " leaves in the bowl " as a genuine expression of thumbing my nose at the weird and hectic world and to pay homage to the legend of Shen Nung and the serendipity of having tea leaves drift on the wind into his kettle of boiling water!
What a beautiful practice.
What a lovely video! Thank you
Yes,I do enjoy my gunpowder green,bowl-wise,and I steep it in the most lovely polish stoneware bowl!
I am,however, currently flying in the clouds,as I am drinking a delightful Gushu Sheng Puerh from the year 1999.
It is heaven.
I wish that I could share,as I am drinking alone.

Been watchig so much teapot Gongfu Gaiwan brewing that have SHORT steeping times that the idea of letting a tea sit in a bowl sounds very different. There must be a preferred type of tea for this method though. What sort of tea does one use if it's going to sit for potentially longer than other brewing methods? I mean I am asking because a lot of teas do get bitter.
we liked striped tea and few leaves. This is a simple way of making tea. Sometimes ball oolongs can be nice too as they open up beautifully, but oolong is often better gongfu. The key is to use less leaf.
@@globalteahut what is "striped tea" though, that sounds like japanese Kukicha twigs :P
@@emmalouie1663 striped tea refers to teh shape, long curled, whole leaves as opposed to compressed tea, small buds or ball-shaped teas. Basically just big, whole leaves a bowl and hot water is all you need to enjoy tea.

Also,know this:
I am an alcoholic, every day is a battle between the ugliness of booze and the beauty of tea.
Some days are better than others.
One day at a time!
