The debt we owe is to God. You see, most of us have a record of idolatry (making a god in our own image [ex. one that doesn’t punish or always forgives], or worshipping something as though it were God) lying, stealing, using Gods names in vain (including saying “OMG!” or “Jesus Christ!” in a moment of anger), lusting after someone (including watching pornography; Jesus says this is committing adultery in your heart!), etc. Not only do we affect and hurt other people with our sin, all of these things are done against Him. And God is a righteous judge, so these things must be punished and dealt with. If He really cares, shouldn’t He execute justice for those who were wronged? This is our debt, that we have sinned and the price must be payed. We are all in danger of hellfire (Gods righteous judgement for evil sinners), except the ones who humble themselves to realize they NEED a savior, and receive His gift of mercy and grace; through which [His mercy and grace] we get into heaven. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and often delays judgement out of grace, mercy, and Him much rather seeing us repent than to punish us. Through the cross of Jesus, God showed His great love and compassion, but also His justice and righteousness. He came down to earth in the person of Jesus Christ and did the impossible: lived a perfect, sinless life from the time He was born to the time of His death. For God to show mercy and just pardon sinful murderers, liars, adulterers, etc, the punishment for sin had to be poured out somewhere. So God took it. We incurred His wrath and judgement for our sin, and God took the punishment through His Son Jesus Christ. Not only was He betrayed, humiliated, scourged, and went through unspeakable pain, on the cross Jesus took the full wrath of God up until His death, when He cried out “It is finished!”. He paid the price, so that now all who repent and turn from their life of sin and put their trust in Jesus as the only one who can save us, they will be saved (For example, if someone has a speeding ticket but their fine was paid, they can be let go justly). God will change them, giving them a new heart, new desires, and make them a new creation. It is only through repentance and trusting in what Jesus did for us on the cross, nothing else, that gets us into heaven. Repent and believe today, commit to Jesus with your life (Jesus said if anyone wishes to follow me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow him). God bless you!

I just want to say that Jesus doesn't come back until the last trumpet , Paul says it and then it's said again in the book of revelations chapter 19.
