Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge. Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.

Amen. Memories do come up along with shame and deep deep regret. When this happens I break out with praise and worship. I am knocked to the ground on my knees. I am guilty of breaking every commandment multiple times. I am now moved back to the neighborhood where everyone knows my past. At first I was crushed to the ground however reciting Eph 1: 2-7 saved me from being swallowed up. I am now living as a witness to the accusers I live around but it is not me who now holds my head up but He that dwells within me. Praise to the Most High Master of my life Yahshua.

Exactly. Memory of sin that won't go away is a measure of God's love for you. He is telling you "I am even forgiving you for this (and this and this and this...)"
