Wooly ripping and looking super sharp on that JS. I really like that way you surf really well but don't take it all too seriously either great tunes to ❤🤙
Million Dollar Question ? Of the Slater Flat Earth, DHD Mick Fanning Twin horse shoe, Black Baron 2.1 (all performance twin or 2+1s). Which is better, for better waves in the Chest High to a little over head (3-5ft) ??
In overhead surf I think it’s the BB2.1 or the MF twin. In chest/shoulder high the FE was really good. Both the BB2.1 and MF twin need a quality wave to get the best out of them but the FE worked on smaller surf - for me anyway.
Seriously looking at one of these as a travel board. But The volume step per inch is really big 1”=2L. As per your review was wanting normal performance board +1L. off the rack I can have normal performance vol. or + 2L. Is this a board you can add 2L to ? (34 vs 36 L). Or suck it up and order a custom 35….
I could have ridden it with a touch more volume and it wouldn’t have been a problem. The rails are nice and pinched so I don’t think the extra volume would hurt performance
Hey woolys just wondering how was the drive thru turns on this board ? Also whats your favourite one boards quiver would be one to by and take and ride anywhere would this we it? cheers
The js website says that the xero gravity and the black Baron 2.1 both have a 2-6 foot wave range. If you were to pick one which would get the most use? Cheers
Yew, picked up one of these after watching the review, and it absolutely flys! I really like the low rails, do you know of anything off the rack with a more standard shortboard outline with similar low rails. Also been riding more volume since I've been watching your reviews. I'm 90kg and riding 38 litres right now.
Hi Wooly I bought the subxero after seeing your review and it’s the best groveler i ever had ! Is there a real difference between this two models ? Thanks for reviews
Hi mate, yes very different boards. The BB2.1 wont grovel like a Sub Xero. Sub Xero is wide and flat to work in shit surf whereas the BB2.1 has a narrow tail and more rocker so it works in good waves.,
Sorry never had a RNF. Now that you mention the P2 it’s actually a little similar outline to the BB2.1 but that’s where it stops. Bottom shape, rocker, rails all different.
Onya mate thanks. Does the material over the ears on the O'Neill one do much for wind protection? My ears are in a state and the doc reckons I should be in a hood at all times as well as plugs.@@WoolyTV
I really love my JS sticks but im not convinced on this one. Looks fast down the line yeah, but it also looked like it lacked a lot of hold and was super squirrely/loose through turns and critical sections. In contrast, you were ripping on the Flat Earth (similar style performance 2+1) which had great hold, flow and performance but this JS didn’t look nearly as good under ya feet.
I can add a few more details as I’ve ridden it a few more times since the two surfs I filmed on it. It’s faster than the Flat Earth. Once I increased the fin size, I smoothed it out and got the hold I was chasing. I was using the T1 in these clips but I went to a FG EN and improved the boards performance and could surf it without nursing it through turns 🤙
@@WoolyTV with the larger template side fins, are you still running the trailer small fin? Or going no trailer? I’m on a BB2.1 stock 6’0 (my dims 6’1” 90kg), and feeling like the board is tad skittish in the place like OP mentioned. Board FLIES like hell but sorta sketch on critical turns. I have the T1 in right now but have a fin similar to the EN FG I’m going to try after reading your feedback. Wondering if I should keep the trailer in if I upsize the fins. Camping at a point break this weekend and we are eyeing 4-6ft conditions the whole time! Psyched to keep putting this board through its paces. Cheers.
Ok what would be your choice out of the Twin Pin by CI , Mick Fannings Twin Fin or Black Baron 2.1 I realise the last is a 2 plus 1 but it seems to full into that better wave non thruster option????
@@WoolyTV in good waves basically as a replacement /alternative to a monsta 8 which is the board I ride when it gets good around here I'm on the mid north nsw but I've ridden that board everywhere that's been my go to travel board as well. Basically I use a phoenix as a every day board around here. Even though the MF twin hasn't been a great seller I've never spoken to anyone that's ridden it that hasn't said its a great board.
@@geoffreymccann2841 ok I would narrow it down to the MF twin and the BB2.1. Both hold well in bigger surfer and you can surf them like a performance board. It will then come down to what length you want to go as the MF will end up longer than the BB2.1 for the same volume. Both a great boards but I think I would pick the BB2.1 because it gives the option to run a trailer or a full thruster set. Hearing a few people run it as thruster and it still works well.
Hi mate Thank you. I haven’t looked at doing wetsuit reviews yet. I think to do wetsuits properly, you need to do the review when they are new and then an up date at say 6 months later so it’s a true reflection of what happens to them after use.

Not quiet home unfortunately but it’s a regular stop over for me. Board was super fast 🤙
That left looks like a fun wave. Informative review. Like the drone shots! Well done 👍
Always good to mix it up. Drone stuff looks great 👍
That is one sick stick. Such a clean outline.
It’s so fast!
the production quality of this is so damn good - keep it up lads.
Yep Max and Gemma are doing a great job. I’m just the surfing clown 🤡. They do all the hard work 🙏🤙

Absolutely dumbest fashion of the last 10 years 😂
What is your favourite board in the baron series of boards
The Big baron as a mid and the Baron Flyer for the shorter ones.
Hey mate wondering if you have surfed a Lost RNF 96 and how do they compare, cheers cobber
Hi mate
I haven’t surfed one but they have very different outlines. RNF has a much wider nose template

Xero gravity for sure 👍
@@WoolyTV thanks for such a quick reply, it has really helped!!🤙

Very different to the Psycho Nitro. The Psycho Nitro is closer to the Sub Xero 🤙

Foam is your friend! The JS Schooner has similar rails.
Cheers mate, you're a legend.
What do you think about this board for Indonesia waves
It would be great in Indo waves chest high and up to overhead.
I found by putting bigger twins in the front I could ride it in even bigger waves.

Ripping mate. Mind letting me know what hat you're wearing in some of the clips? Cheers.
