It’s a disgrace that Legolas has only 2 attacks and two wounds with fight 6. He killed Bolg in the movies, came through the fellowship with only some bruises. He is the best archer in middle earth and somehow still hits on a 3+ even though Thranduil hits on a 2+. Tauriel gets 3 attacks but Legolas doesn’t?
Fhat fly rule was something else, but actually makes nore logical sense than what we have now. You'd have to balance it by making them really prone to shooting attacks
There should be two options for legolas, like how Thranduil has it - he starts off fight 6 2 attacks - but you can pay for an upgrade to buff him up. Bolg can't be fight 7 3 attacks, tauriel 3 attacks - and legolas fight 6 2 attacks. It doesn't make any damn sense.
I wish they had kept this version of Arwen. She is my favorite character in the movies, so I have been trying to find a place for her in my list for years, but have never had any luck. This version might be worth her points. Its funny, I have had many people insist that its common sense that swift movement and fly work differently in regards to ignoring terrain because a flier is “soaring through the sky”, to which i always respond “if that is the case, why can they still be charged and shot at normally”? I guess in first edition they thought of that with the crazy Gwaihair rules.
they still have 2A. but the old reavers had D4. But then again now they are one point cheaper and get fearless & +1 to wound when they charge. would nearly say they are stronger now if did not have to be with a bon`son
@@ryangale3757 he was way to cheap back then. Was the same cost as a dwarf king but had +1might +1will trowing axes and a two-handed weapon. But now i think he is ok, even if he is 5-10p to expensiv. I wish they would give him the throwing axes back.
I can't believe old Saruman was not mentioned here. He could cast sorcerous blast from any point on the board, every turn...
Oof can't believe we missed that one, sounds crazy! I'll have to dig up the old books to take a look at that!
I fondly remember doing that at a tournament to an elf player and killing all his archers over the course of the game.
“Or you mount Galadriel” I mean…
@@intothewestpodcast he is in Fellowship of the Ring rulebook, the very same Galadriel you presented comes from :)
I'm a simple man, I see an Into the West Upload, I click view.
Love you too ❤️
The legolas profile is far more accurate than the one we have now I think
Agreed 💯
2 attacks for Gwahir is also totally ludicrous. A huge eagle has less attacks than Tauriel?
Really really like this channel

f7 Leggy makes sense. The F4 Far Harad makes sense at the cost with 2A were kinda op.
why the F4 harad? they are strong men (S4) but not that skilled i think.
after never playing older editions these stats blow my mind lol
Man, how times have changed.

Shame I didn't play back then - I'd have found a way to argue how Rohan houses looked Lothlorien-ish 😎😂
Lothlorien-imported wood planks? 😂

Yes, would love heroes with more customization! Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be the trend the designers are going…
Me about to sneak in some first edition mahud warriors into a list and say "oh they've always been F4 A2" haha
😂😂

Old corsair reavers. F5 2A.
They’re the OG Dragon Cult Acolytes 😅

They were OP mostly due to their combo with the Shade.
Were is old Balin, son of Fundin for 75 points with trowing axes (+10p for durins axe) and the Kings Champion for only 125p ?
or F5 gollum in old gobin-town😆
Great shout outs! A ton of overtuned profiles back in the day.
I do miss the old Balin profile. So much more usable, whereas now he's pretty hard to justify.

Agree! It’s sculpted on the model so might as well let him have them.
