I went to Ranger School in 1992... it was 52 push-ups, 62 sit-ups, and a 2-mile run in 13:53. Not, really too different now. I do remember that the instructors would stop you at the requirement. i.e. 52 push-ups then ordered to stand. Great channel.
Everytime some higher up wants to change a PFA, they should lose their tab/badge and will have to retake the course in order to wear it again. RPFA is just a gate event it doesn't translate to the rest of the school. The EIB pt test when I first joined was 210 APFT 70% EA in the 17-21 age group then 80% with a 32min 4 mile later on.
Idk. Ranger School just doesn't seem to nail some key things. Like they eliminated desert even though we had 20 years in the desert, then the Urban course kind of seems like a joke when you compare it to Fallujah, Ramadi etc. Talked to several Ranger Tabbed older guys and they've all stated Ranger School meant jack shit in Ramandi in 2007. I think it's time the Army drops Ranger School and creates something else. Even during the Vietnam War, they created Recondo School because Ranger School wasn't cutting it for small unit tactics on an actual small unit scale of 4-8 members. But I digress.... Airborne has gotten easier, Ranger School has 2 different standards for Male & Females, which makes zero sense for actual combat operations Combat Arms also has 2 different standards for a PT test. The next big war will not be like GWOT, people need to look at the Battle of Chosin, Battle of Heu City. It's gonna get real and real fast if we gotta fight North Korea or China. Gonna be fighting an enemy that doesn't care if you have "Superior fire power" in the words of a Marine at Chosin, "They just kept coming" We didn't win that war either, just a stalemate. Sorry if this was long😂😢
I’m curious to know how they are going to provide everyone with body armor if it’s not on the packing list. Headed to school February 23rd boss. I’ll let you know 😂
Yeah makes no sense to make the PT test harder when it’s just a gateway test the current test is fine. I can see just changing the push ups to T push ups and sit-ups to the plank but increasing the mileage and a smoke session prior is just overkill
5 mile run in boots is wild, might as well just do a 5 mile ruck in 50 minutes lol
I did it on the old rpa lol
This may be the only time you won't get roasted for nike boots
Knocking out 5 miles after the EPFA is way harder …..than 2 min push ups, 2 min sit ups and 5 mile run
Definitely

Man... what is the point of all this? Just leave the initial PT test alone and add this into RAP week as another go/no go event.
I agree…
Also preparing for EFMB, so this makes sense
Thanks
