Sweet finds bro !! ........ I do a lot of detecting here in California and been pretty lucky ! ........ I want to take a trip to Florida soon jus to hunt ........ I use the Excalibur 2 for low tide hunts !
Ed, My wife and I were in Anaheim California last week for 4 days on a family matter. I would have loved to hunt your beaches but we didn't even have time to do anything. If you do come this way send me a note and maybe meet on Miami Beach for a hunt.
I am seriously considering the AT Pro as my first unit. The conversation surrounding sand makeup is very interesting. Anyone have experience on the Washington/Oregon beaches?Great video!Thank you!
I hunt the Oregon beaches with my AT Pro but for me in the water is just not good but on dry sand on the beaches is working just fine Happy Hunting and GL
R Adams thank you very much. We went out Saturday and Sunday this past week didn't find much other than pocket change we try and make it out early as the Sun rises to keep away from the crowd hopefully we have better luck next time.
Hey nice video and nice hobby sorry for the question in what beach in Miami are you metal detecting the water looks calm for swimming and having fun with the family thanks.
@6:14 mark....Right before you go and fish out what you found in your sand scoop...what are you placing your Metal Detector on? Is it some sort of gadget to steady it from falling off your thigh? (I'm assuming it's some sort of gadget because your MD is steady and never falls/wavers when the waves come in. ) :)
Whenever I go to the beach I bring a big bag of popcorn for the seagulls and Ten dollars in pennies for the minesweepers. Makes for an awesome visit... Just kidding! Nice haul.
This is great! I was told the AT Pro would do lousy on public beaches because of all the trash. I live in Miami. Have you ever tired other beaches in the area?
Nicole Spencer From Haulover beach to South beach and both sides of Key Biscayne, Hobie beach and the light house side. With the AT Pro you get a good idea of what's there before you dig from the tones and the readings on the display. Check this video out ua-cam.com/video/eoI9IEsFRNI/v-deo.html Also a friend of mind has a metal detecting store in Hialeah near Miami Lakes. Call 305 818 9844 and ask for Jose or Melissa they will let you try them out if you want. Thanks for watching and happy hunting.
Nicole Spencer I own an AT-PRO also and it does just fine in dry and wet sand. I set the disc to 30 and I get no false signals ever. Plenty of trash to pick up but the machine is far from lousy. I haven't gone into the water though. It's outside my comfort zone.
Excellent video! Please tell me you see people having Fisher cz-21, and if so what they say about this metal detector? I wish you a lot of platinum and gold discoveries!
Hi, I love your videos, I also have the garrett at pro, but I'm afraid to immerse, I see your dip in the sea, they're doing some preparation for immersion? Please I await your response, thanks, greetings
+Jose Ordoñez If your going in the water with the AT Pro remove the coil cover air and sand gets in there and will cause chatter and noise. Also use divers grease on all the O ring fittings like the coil, head phones, and battery. Good luck and happy hunting.
Just tuned to this vid because of your recommendation. Really nice hunt bud. I gotta tell ya though. My ATP is hopeless even in damp salt sand out here. I think it could be the high mineralization and black sand. When you come out here again to hunt the beaches, leave the ATP at home😃
+Tony Eisenhower Hi Tony, I have heard of all the problems at other salt water areas and I even had a problem in Puerto Rico on the west side on Rincon beach (it went nuts) but on the North East beaches it was fine and on the South East Florida beaches. Remember to take off the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus use divers grease on all the O rings. Good luck and thanks for watching.

Oops, didn't mean to hit reply...are most beaches along the keys (other than State and Federal Parks) open to metal detecting? Any help is appreciated.
High Plains Prospectors- Metal Detector & Gold Prospecting Supply I found everything in the area so there is no need to bring your metal detector. I haven't been to the keys though so I can't say for sure but there could be some beaches that are off limits because of salvage claims or state park restrictions.
Was there ever an appraisal of the items? Also is that a bathrobe? Enjoyed the length of the video and approach of the finds (not too much video before each find).
No appraisals on these rings. If I were to find something with diamonds I would probably take it for an appraisal. I haven't tried a bathrobe yet, I like to wear long sleeve T's they keep you cool and you don't burn to a crisp in the sun.
I'm in between a Sea Hunter and an AT Pro .. and leaning more towards the Sea Hunter cause I was sicouraged from comments that AT Pro is not so good in saltwater and that also looses substantial from it's depth potential in the water. What is your experience? Hunting style is more or less like you in the videos .. mind you this will be my 1st metal detector (so clearly no experience here) and there is no agent in Cyprus whatsover of any brand so basically I need something reliable not to have fault probs as will be a real pain having to send it abroad. Thanking you in advance for your response.
Panayiotis Sevastides if you don't have a dealer in the area to try out the AT Pro in your salt water then go with the Sea Hunter but plan to dig everything. Listen to some of the Tones videos I did and that may help you decide. Thanks for watching.
where you find more in the water or on the beach it self..how do i set the metal detector up so i won't have to tinker with it no more so i can just turn it on and go..nice find
***** My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. R Adams i use a AT PRO in Sarasota FL where i live but i have to turn down the sensitivity 3 notches to be quite in the water or the wet sand , do you have that problem?
Jose Ordoñez The scoop is called the Howie Scoop. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop around $175
I don't know much about this. My daughter is a kid who wants to start doing it. Is it better during low tide on the beach? What about after a hurricane?
+Bill Brown I like the low tide because I have a better chance of spotting and getting out of the way of things that can eat or sting me. I don't hunt on the dry sand much unless there has been a storm that has removed a lot of sand making it easier to detect the deeper stuff. Visit www.treasurenet.com and search the beach and shallow water section. There is a lot of posts from helpful and friendly people. Good luck to your daughter and happy hunting.
The Omega 8000 and AT Pro are very similar. It's depends on where you plan to hunt. You can get a rain cover for the 8000 but if you want to hunt in the water up to your neck or snorkel with it get the Pro.
***** Hi Dan, My AT Pro works great on the South Florida beaches. I have heard all of the problems at other salt water areas and I even had a problem in Puerto Rico on the west side on Rincon beach (it went nuts) But keep in mind take off the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus use divers grease on all the O rings. Do I need to buy submersible head phones for the at pro if my head is not going under water or can I use the headphones that are supplies with the at pro?
R Adams Ever try and return the rings to the owners? Maybe by a website or something? I know I would but I also have the "finders keepers" attitude so it's a Catch 22 lol. I know the Garrett Pro is not cheap, with all the stuff you found is it worth the investment? I am a rookie (just bought a detector) and just asking, not to be a jerk or offend you!
kevin O I'm with you on that but I do look on Crags List to see if what I find shows up but nothing yet. I haven't found a class ring but would say that would be the easiest to return. Yes I mean No its not worth the investment and stay away from my hunting areas.
Hey man really cool videos, there entertaining for some strange reason lol. Iv been looking at the AT pro for some time now and I'm about to pull the trigger on it, my budget isn't too important but i figured for a new bee detectorist it will suffice. Do you have any recommendations? Garret, minlabs ect? Thankyou keep it up buddy!
its the Howie Scoop. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop and tell him I sent you. Good luck and happy hunting

E Trac This hunt was about 4 hours and it was around 85*. The diamonds tested real but very small so I'll keep it for show and tell. Yes people ask what you found or what are you doing, but no restrictions in this area.
E Trac My best find is my wife. But my 2nd best find or most unexpected find would be the gold bracelet I found in the sand at a Kiddie park.@iZhusQpKMBk
I use the same settings most of the time on dry sand and in saltwater. @@RAdams Thank you so much for the information. I took my AT Pro to the shore today and it was a nightmare. It rang for every thing and nothing, I dung for so many things to find an empty scoop. I used the same settings, Pro/zero. I even knocked down the sensitivity and it was still ringing; change frequencies and still nothing. I'm on the east coast, jersey shores area and it was raining so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. I bought an equinox 800 just waiting for it to come in, hopefully that won't give me a hard time. Thanks for your reply buddy, preciate it.
Sorry to hear that but I've heard that some beaches have a lot of Mineralization that makes the AT Pro go nuts. I have a friend that has an MD store so I'm going to be able to try out the equinox 800 soon.
@@RAdams That's probably what I've experience while I was out. Hope to see a video on the equinox soon. Thanks for your replies and I truly appreciate your response. Let me know how you make out with the equinox. Thanks
mike Baker The AT Pro has worked very well for me here in South Florida. Lately I have been using the Excalibur II and like it but they do cost a lot more.
Well it's been awhile but when I use the AT Pro I use the same settings most of the time on dry sand and in saltwater. Hello friend, I have the same equipment as you, but here in Argentina, in the wet sand or in the water as samples, it is impossible to use my equipment, detect many false signals, it is impossible to detect something, try to discriminate and lower the sensitivity but nothing, do you achieve any special configuration? some say to use the menu "coins" xq discards iron or other garbage, how do you do?
I use the same settings most of the time on dry sand and in saltwater. My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it then I do a manual ground balance on sand or in the water that's about it. @@RAdams Hello! Speaking of which, it occurred to me to remove the stiker from the coil and it had a small hole! Just below the label on the left side that is near the cable, they forgot to seal it, lifting the stiker. I discovered! and seal with silicone, and also distrust the cable, the idea of grease is good! I set up Pro Zero too! The sensitivity that appears when it is on, I do not touch it! and the balance of the earth, in water or dry sand does not matter, gives false signals in the wet sand, could it be that there is more iron ore here than there? I decided to select coins! The manual says that discriminating iron, just detecting coins, metals and jewelry, would it be useful?
+Joe Narynski My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it about 3 bars shy of full then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. I am doing some research on metal detectors and I would like to know your opinion on the Garrett a t Pro. Is it a quality detector? Would you recommend it?
Yes it is. It's the one I started with because I like the fact that it can also get wet and be in water up to 10' deep but you will need water proof headphones.
Mr Adams. I have an AT PRO and never tried it at the beach and have heard it's a waste of time in wet sand and water. Did you have any issues? What settings were you running? Thanks!
It works fine for me. My normal saltwater setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it about 3 bars shy of full then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. But keep in mind TAKE OFF THE COIL COVER (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus I use divers grease on all the O rings for the coil, head phone connectors and battery . Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck
+Steven Swoyer I'll try to crank up the sensitivity as high as I can without getting any chatter but it's normally two to three bars shy of full. Hope this helps and happy hunting.

Just a hint of corrosion on the outer part of the connectors after 2 or 3 years I always rinse my equipment with fresh water to get the salt off. The only issues or things that you should do if you water hunt is remove the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus I use divers grease on all the O rings for the coil, head phone connectors and battery . can anyone tellme how can he use it on the salt water and dont have any problems with it? i really need to know how he does it. with my at pro i cant touch the salt water its going crazy

Well I bought it locally here in south Florida by a guy named Howie hence the name Howie scoop but he has stopped making them. I'm now using an XTREME Scoops Surf-Master X3 and love it. John from Houston Metal Detecting Services started making them. Here is the link xtremescoops.com/
crusher1944, how is this BS? Are you suggesting the metal objects magically 'swam' into the sand scoop, or was he just jabbing aimlessly at the sand and hit lucky, or possibly he changed the internals of the MD to a PI machine to make it look like an AT pro? Trolling at your age is just plain sad.
Very love this sport and hobby, I'd like to deal with it but unfortunately I can not afford a metal detector. I would love if someone has a metal detector that my gifts if he does not need, or if you have old ... Thanks
No stupid music, no non-stop talking, just showing the goodies. Good video.
Shelley Hinch Thank you Shelley, I just let the camera run in case I find something nice.
Cool ! Many say the Garrett AT Pro will not work in salt water or wet sand. But you showed it will! Thanks for sharing!!
Paul Warren Thanks Paul, The AT Pro has been very good to me. I like to use Pro Zero mode and then GB in the water.
R Adams Great video, great finds. Dou you auto ground balance or manual ground balance? What's the gb number? Thanks

Visit www.treasurenet.com and search the beach and shallow water section. There is a lot of posts from helpful and friendly people. Good luck to your daughter and happy hunting.
+R Adams Thanks!
Guys one question, between at pro and omega 8000 wich one you think is better?
The Omega 8000 and AT Pro are very similar. It's depends on where you plan to hunt. You can get a rain cover for the 8000 but if you want to hunt in the water up to your neck or snorkel with it get the Pro.
How does the AT Pro work around the saltwater? My machine goes nuts! Thinking about making my next machine an AT Pro.
***** Hi Dan, My AT Pro works great on the South Florida beaches. I have heard all of
the problems at other salt water areas and I even had a problem in Puerto Rico on the west side on Rincon beach (it went nuts) But keep in mind take off the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus use divers grease on all the O rings. Anyway my normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. Let me know if this helps or not and thanks for watching my videos.
Do I need to buy submersible head phones for the at pro if my head is not going under water or can I use the headphones that are supplies with the at pro?
They said you can but I bought the water proof head phones just in case it rains or they fall in the water.
crusher1944 my AT Pro works fine here in Miami, salt water and dry sand. If your having problems with yours you should contact Garrett.
R Adams haha I have no interest in traveling 1300 miles to hunt in your area! You're safe lol.
+ R Adams Hello, Adams! What is the price of this detector in your state please live in brail.Abraços, Marcelo

+1Life Stunts The AT Pro is a good starter machine for around $600 but the 3030 is a much better machine and a lot more money at around $2400 .
How well does the AT Pro work in the water and wet sand. What kind of machine you recommend for a beginner that want break the bank.

nice looking scoop what brand is it
its the Howie Scoop. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop and tell him I sent you. Good luck and happy hunting
thankyou much
Question for you. Where'd you get the scoop and how much, thanks.
kreteman777 The scoop is called the Howie Scoop. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop around $175
R Adams Thanks for the reply.
Nice ! How long were you in the water? How warm was it? Real diamonds in the earring? Does anybody ever say anything?
E Trac This hunt was about 4 hours and it was around 85*. The diamonds tested real but very small so I'll keep it for show and tell. Yes people ask what you found or what are you doing, but no restrictions in this area.
R Adams
Wow, how lucky you are! Whats your best find?
E Trac My best find is my wife. But my 2nd best find or most
unexpected find would be the gold bracelet I found in the sand at a Kiddie
park.@iZhusQpKMBk

lovely nice!
What's your settings for beach hunting with the AT Pro?
I use the same settings most of the time on dry sand and in saltwater. My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it then I do a manual ground balance on sand or in the water that's about it. But keep in mind when in the water TAKE OFF THE COIL COVER (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus I use divers grease on all the O rings for the coil, head phone connectors and battery . Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck
Thanks
Doesn't Florida have laws that distinguish between metal detecting above the water line and metal detecting in the water?
I bought an AT Pro two months ago and I'm chomping at the bit for the weather to warm up so I can get to the beach and start mining for gold!
Any interesting finds with your AT Pro?
@@JTMichaels614 Rusty nails, bottle caps, loose change and rusty toe nail clippers. I'm Serious! Same for magnet fishing! I feel like Charley Brown.
@@JB91710 no rare coins, class rings, nothing? You are overdue for some good loot! try traveling some if you get a chance this summer. Good luck!
I see that you use different metal detectors what is your favorite one for the beach
mike Baker The AT Pro has worked very well for me here in South Florida. Lately I have been using the Excalibur II and like it but they do cost a lot more.
Thank you I just got whites MXT I'm going down to Miami Beach in November I absolutely love your videos any pointers for me when I get there
Good hunt can I ask what setting did you use ? 🇬🇷👍💙

Only Singer Island after the life guard arrive around 8:00 am is off limits. All other beaches, no problem.
Good info thank you
How do you tune At Pro for salt water Hunts
+Joe Narynski My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it about 3 bars shy of full then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. a city of the rich a beach of the rich it is obvious that you find a pretty ring of rich in silver and gold.
What is ur sensitivity level at, also does the pin pointer work in the water?
+Steven Swoyer I'll try to crank up the sensitivity as high as I can without getting any chatter but it's normally two to three bars shy of full. Hope this helps and happy hunting.

How is the corrosion resistance on the AT Pro , have you had any issues ?
Just a hint of corrosion on the outer part of the connectors after 2 or 3 years I always rinse my equipment with fresh water to get the salt off. The only issues or things that you should do if you water hunt is remove the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus I use divers grease on all the O rings for the coil, head phone connectors and battery . Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck

do you have to ask for a permission there in miami beach ?
No but I always ask at state parks
I thought a AT Pro was not very reliable on the beach.
I've heard that too but I haven't had any problems on Miami beach with one exception, TAKE OFF THE COIL COVER (sand and air get's in and will cause noise).

Dude they said this model AT was not use able in salt water WTF?
my AT Pro works fine here in Miami, salt water and dry sand
crusher1944, how is this BS? Are you suggesting the metal objects magically 'swam' into the sand scoop, or was he just jabbing aimlessly at the sand and hit lucky, or possibly he changed the internals of the MD to a PI machine to make it look like an AT pro? Trolling at your age is just plain sad.
Thank you
