Good morning Laura, I have been a long time subscriber and have never commented, but had to tell you today that you have helped me so much in my garden and you cheerful personality is wonderful, I just wanted to say thank you.
Exactly, i have been gardening most of my life, some fifty years, and I still get excited after watching Laura. You have helped my garden tremendously, thank you Garden Answer!
Yes! I’ve been watching Laura for YEARS and never commented but have been trying to make an effort to comment on every video lately to just help support her and show my appreciation!
Nothing says spring more than seeing Laura in fast forward spreading Biotone🤩🌱 also, I may be going to buy my first rose today🤣 🌹. Happy Spring!
Absolutely! Be careful with buying your first rose. I started with one a few years ago. I fell in love and now have 25 David Austin’s. I wish I had room for more. Happy planting! Happy spring!
@@karenmoring8217thanks for your warning! This is my fear, I’m very poor at practicing patience!! 🤷🏽♂️👨🏾🌾
@@karenmoring8217 is there a David Austin rose that you love that has A LOT blooms and a true rose scent? Thank you!
@@SEALIGHTENED one of my favorite roses for old rose scent is actually not a David Austin. It is by Kordes named Savannah Sunbelt. You would have to google it for the color and shape. Some DA roses for scent would be Princess Alexandra of Kent, Jubilee Celebration, Lady Emma Hamilton, and Boscobel. Another amazing rose is Princess Charlene de Monaco, but she is not a DA rose. I love her so much, I have five PCde M’s. It is so hard to choose. I just added 4 more roses this year. It is just so fun! Happy planting!
Good luck, I've never been able to keep roses alive, idk if they are just bad quality or if it's me. D:
Perfect! I cut my roses back yesterday. I was scared to move them till you explained it could be done and why. You might think your content gets old, but I ALWAYS learn something. Thank you and bless you and your family for what you do.
Truth!
I echo this!!!!!!!!

Good morning! Loved seeing Samantha this morning. She seems like such a happy little girl. The west side garden has always been my favorite. Beautiful brick walkway, gorgeous planters and evergreens make it such a peaceful setting. A seating area is all that’s missing.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
1.5 million!! Congrats! I love watching your garden grow but I also love watching your channel grow. Way to go you guys!
I noticed that too!!! Wanted to say Congrats Laura & Aaron! We love your channel.
❤️❤️❤️

Moving roses was fun BUT Samantha Grace at the end was the star of the show for me! reminded me of my little granddaughter at the age, so fun seeing her walking and exploring now, thanks for sharing Laura& Aaron!
The way your gardens have evolved so rapidly over the past few years show how easy and generally successful it is to move plants. Apparently, most of us struggle with even the idea of moving a plant, especially one that is well-established, for a variety of reasons. But, you are absolutely fearless and calm as you dig and move, dig and move, with more success than failure, giving us confidence to go ahead and try. Most plants can be replaced, so it's worth it to just dig it up and move it. All my hopes that your roses love their new homes. I bet they will. ~ Lisa
PS - Samantha Grace is more of a ham than her brother. She has such a sparkly personality ✨🎇😎🎇✨
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
I think the roses will love their new location. Your passion for gardening is contagious! Happy planting! Happy spring!
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Passion for gardening 😂😂😂😂 WELL if you were getting paid to garden you too would be fake ! You seriously think working in her mother's shop pays for all those plants and buying extra land ? While real people are out doing real jobs these two losers have no reason to hold down real jobs 😂😂😂😂 I'm sure her and her husband both don't have jobs unless they're dealing drugs !!!!
What a perfect spot for the roses!! All the established formal greenery is the perfect *canvas* to let them shine!! ☀️
Who doesn't love Rose's? But I have to tell you, Iris are most favorite flower in the world, and seeing those huge clumps of Iris, where you dug out some Rose's, made my heart happy. The friend(s) who gets to come and take those are lucky indeed 💜
I love them too. I have a bunch and just keep collecting them. We had a very hard freeze after weeks of warm weather….so I am hoping I didn’t lose many blooms that were forming in the base. I enjoy seeing others who love irises too! They truly are treasures.
This morning I was watching all your videos on roses. Had to take my youngest to the doctor and while I was in with her my husband took the other kids to chick fil a. Well when he came back to get us he had a truck full of roses. They were redoing their landscaping and my husband rescued them for me! I am the proud owner of 6 knock out roses! Talk about meant to be! Thank you for all the videos! My 7 year old loves watching you too ❤️
Laura, u make the most mundane jobs look like fun. Your very inspiring to say the least. Can't wait to get into my flower beds & start digging. Looking forward to seeing the Hartley start it's new faze & you doing your magic.
I love how fearless you are going after those roses. Watch out, Laura has her gloves and felcos!
Nothing better than lots of sweet smelling roses. Can't wait to see them in bloom.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
You're such a great teacher. I've learned so much since finding you and you are a game changer, Laura. My black thumb has turned into a green thumb.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Soo excited to see the Hartley come to life this summer!!
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Spring feels so good this year. Samantha Grace is very "sure-footed"; fun to watch her foot stomp with Benjamin in one of your Instagram pics. Benjamin is also at a fun age thinking things through and sharing his observations. These early years with children go by so fast.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Wow, that was a lot of work...thats a 2 day project for this older girl!! I love the structure in that garden and watching the baby boxwoods grow up and claim their space it seems like just last season they were placed. Time to add roses to my garden!
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Love your talks! Have learned sooo much even at my age!!! Wake up to your “How’s it Going!”
I said to myself this morning, it's Monday and I am going to see new video from Laura, yay. You have some beautiful roses and they are going to look great planted along that brick walkway. Seeing Samantha with her Dad was just an added bonus, she is so cute and squealing in delight.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
I never thought about the roots being exposed to the air for long periods of time shocking the roots. Some damp burlap might help. I was thinking the roses would go in the south garden but I absolutely love them around the urns. That is a more formal looking space and having the roses there is just perfect. Maybe it will be Aaron’s Rose Garden. Can you just see roses and urns with a border of lavender!
Oh I can’t wait to see those all in bloom!! Sweet Samantha Grace, is so precious, I like seeing her enjoy her walks, and she doesn’t look like her Daddy, hahaha said NO ONE EVER!! 🌿🌷🌿
Just so you guys know, i don't mind a 3 hr long garden tour or per zone garden tour. Just letting you guys know ahead of a time. I am sooo excited for your garden.
Can’t wait to see the roses in bloom!
Samantha is walking really well and saw her try to get away with a leaf in her mouth. What a kick! Happy days!
Love to all.....
I had to laugh at .45 when you said you were "trying to find a home for these rocks right now" I flashed back to Benjamin's "Big Problem" 😊 Good to know Chad will be there soon to resolve that😉 Have a great week everyone!🌹☕
I have already ordered some roses 🌹 hopefully they’ll thrive . I love watching your videos they are so full of information and seeing Samantha sporting her shades is pretty adorable 😎. She’s gotten so big ! 🌸❤️🌸
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Awww....Samantha Grace growing like a weed!! What a cutie!! Having a fun time in the garden!! It wont be long before shes helping mommy like Benjamin does!! 🌸🌺🌹💖
Aww, Samantha Grace was the grand finale!! She looks so much like Benjamin, such a precious little doll baby!
Thank you for amother WONDERFUL informative video! 🌹🌹
Laura’s enthusiasm for gardening is so contagious even the cats want in on the action!💕😻
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Samantha Grace what a cutie pie! I am SO glad I am not the only person moving irises and daffodils this time of year... my husband thinks I'm crazy when I move plants but you gotta do what you gotta do!
Roses are the singular plant i hate moving the most. I've always underestimated the depth of their roots and wind up doing so much damage. I swear by using mycorrhizal fungi around the transplant hole to aid root development. Good luck to those David Austins. They truly are the best going.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Enjoyed watching you move the roses, but honestly I could watch that sweet baby toddle around forever! Missing my grandbabies today I think.
I love David Austin Roses 🌹 and where you have them they’re going to look gorgeous 🌸🦋🌸
What a beautiful way to end the video with precious Samantha . She always looks happy and cheerful, God bless her 🙏😘🙏
In the last two weeks I’ve had 4 new David Austin roses arrive from them directly, and I have one more that I bought last year! They perform so well!! Really excited to see all the blooms this year.
I just received 2 David Austin roses that I ordered directly from them too! I planted them this weekend, and I can't tell you how excited I am to see them grow!!!!
@@stephanieslaughter2511 excited for you!!!
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Spring, roses, Hartley, winter structure, Russell, cute baby - this vid has it all
Samantha loves being outdoors ... and, I love watching her enthusiasm.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
You officially reached 1.5 million subs!! So proud of you guys!!! ♥️
What a doll baby👶🏼🥰💖 Looking forward to seeing the roses in full bloom 😍🌹🌿
Excited to see today's transplants. I just got my David Austin Roses wish book on Saturday. Drooling! One thought: when you showed a clip of the original area outside, it made me miss it! I had dreamed of getting an opportunity to walk through the magical gardens on your property. But it's ok because I'm on board with anything and everything you do to your property. Another thought: in the middle of the night (last night) it came to me that I should have put the one lost pansy bloom (that had fallen off while planting) into silica granules to dry. Now WHO does that in the middle of the night?!!! Probably a GA Groupie. LOL!!! That bloom was big and purple and beautiful. And also, I just ran across the Frizzle Sizzle pansies at a garden center yesterday -- oh my how pretty! HAPPY SPRING, ALL!!!
Greetings, Laura, from Windermere Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
I'm out walking in the dark, being guided by your smiling face and personality 🌿💓🌿
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
I have been itching to plant and spring clean in my gardens!!! Here in north Mississippi the weather has been so crazy, 70 one day and 5 inches of snow the next 😳… yesterday I was finally able to get 2 of my beds cleaned, fertilized and put down a good layer of compost. Also, direct sowed some seeds for the first time EVER!!! 😍 wish me luck GA family!,
Good luck, you can do it!!!!
Best of luck! You will be so amazed and proud!
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Samantha is so cute…she looks just like your mom…same wonderful smile!
I'd love to give this episode a love instead of a thumbs up because it has everything that I love. Lotta of love here! Thanks for sharing your world!
Laura, I feel like I know you forever. I totally know the feeling you get from gardening and doing things yourself. It’s heaven on earth. Aaron with Samantha Grace in matching 😎 had me 😂. You have a beautiful family!
Save the stones to use around the pond when you transplant it.
I was just contemplating adding roses, and looking through the David website last night. yay spring! 🎉🌷
Order soon as their shipping period ends soon if I remember it right.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Such a joy to see sweet Samantha Grace at the end. The roses will be spectacular!🌹
Hi! Linda from Long Island here. My husband and I enjoy all of your videos and you have given us so many useful tips on gardening. The roses will be a beautiful addition to that part of your yard. Can’t wait to see the results.
Laura you need boots hiking boots with ankle support when digging, incredible digging with tennis shoes though. Thank you for being true Light & Joy in an uncertain world.
Love seeing the four legged little helper - life is just so much better with these companions ❤
Agreed! All of my gardening is supervised by one named 'Trouble.' ~ Lisa
Just checking on Russell. I know he & Cheddar dont share space much but until recently Russell was almost always by Laura's feet/side as soon as the camera started rolling. I miss his "personality". Maybe he's just inside more? I hope he is okay.
Wunderbare Arbeit, Laura.lch bin sehr gespannt, wie schön Deine Rosen an diesem neuen Standort blühen werden.
Liebe Grüße aus Lübeck Anja ...
Boy if I lived closer I would take those rocks from your walk way lol
"Win some, lose some," awesome! So down to earth, Laura. Everything about y'all smacks of realness. Including Samanthas' squeals. 😄
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Hey look at that gorgeous HARTLEY!!! 😍 heehee Can not wait to see all the beautiful roses around the landscape with the beautiful GLASS GREENHOUSE in the background 😉
I got behind on videos in Feb- March and have slowly been catching up on older ones while I watch the current ones. And wow to see how well things have grown in in between the urns in 2 months is impressive! I think the roses transplanted very well!
Oh goodness.. You’re jump starting my urge to get busy.. It is still sooo chilly here and my little crocus’ just bloomed yesterday.. I cannot wait to get in my dirt. Thank you Laura and Aaron for being an inspiration for all us to get out and get busy.. little Samantha is soooo cute. Goodness she is growing sooo fast. Say hi to little Benjamin.. be blessed.. 🕊🕊🕊
I have never been a formal garden fan, but girl this west side garden, especially the arb wall, speaks to me so much. I love the grandeur of the large pots and the presence of the straight, long walkway with those fluffy arbs magically blowing in the breeze... And mixed with the more cottagey feel you are aiming for laid right on top - that is going to be something wonderful to behold. I am just so excited to see it!
Sweet Samantha Grace has a lovely voice! Such a wonderful sound of happiness!
Wow! My name is Mary Rose and I was born in 1983….I should totally get one of those!!! 🤔
It is so encouraging to see the bare root roses you planted doing so well and thriving! When you buy them as bare roots, do you typically have to plant them as soon as you bring them home? How many seasons does it typically take before they flower?
My bare root roses came and had instructions to soak them in a bucket if water to hydrate the roots. They did flower the first year but really take off the next year.
I planted 3 bare root roses as a Mom-orial in early November 2020. Two were planted in front, Northwest garden and get about 6-7 hours of sun in Summer. One didn't make it, but 3 feet away the other one sent up 1 branch and I got 3 flowers, the 2 wax covered branches just died. The one in a pot on my south facing patio had tons of flowers. I just pruned them 2 days ago. Ill give the one in front another season to send up more branches before moving to full 9 hour sun location in back.

Good Morning from New Zealand to Laura, Aaron, kids, cats and GA Family. I have been a long time subscriber and I can say that, I owe my successes in our garden to this channel and the lovely comments from fellow GA Fans. Although I live on the other side of the world, with different seasons, I make time everyday to watch GA. I live in a Zone 10 and can grow our plants (tropical/sub tropical) with your teachings and helpful advice. I might even pick up some David Austin’s. Thank you and your videos are very much appreciated. 😊🌴🌿
I am so new to gardening and am very apprehensive to plant roses too soon. I'd love to see a more detailed video just on pruning the roses - you covered a lot of pruning in this video, so I think I have an idea. My struggle with digging up root balls and transplanting anything is digging the depth of the new hole correctly so that the surface of the transplanted root ball is the same as what it essentially was. Laura, you make it look so simple! You are such a motivator.
Aaron is such a great parent💚…Can’t wait to see how roses bloom💚
Congratulations on 1.5Million subscribers? 🎉🌿🌱🌸🌺🌼🌻
Is going to look so nice when they are blooming. 🌹😍
I’m surprised you aren’t planning a formal rose garden off of one of the axes of the Hartley!
Me too! Maybe Laura will add some more roses.
I'm not one to write much but, I had to....Samantha Grace is just beautiful. The love mom has for Samantha Grace was written all over her eyes. So sweet.
The rocks could be used around your new pond, or even behind the cut flower shed for an area for Benjamin and Samantha having a dirt , truck pile for play......fun.
Looks like you're putting in your rose garden after all...in a sense. Looks like a great place, and the smells will be amazing when the blooms come!
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
I do like the simplicity of the west garden. It could be your “rose garden” packed with all pastel roses with a ground cover to soften the edges of the brick pathway. Samantha is so cute ☺️
I liked the formality and structure of the Westside garden. With all the other flower beds so cluttered and so many flower beds it was very pleasing to the eye a nice break. I think planting the roses willy nilly won't look cottage-y just odd. 1 rose bush centered between 2 urns all the way down would have looked nice.
Free roses are the best roses 🤣
Hilarious how quickly Laura gave up on the careful digging out and instead prizing them off. But roses are so tough, they'll be fine.
I have been wanting to look into a few rose bushes and now I am excited to do it. Thank you, your gardens are beautiful.
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Samantha Grace is so cute. The roses will be so pretty in that section. I am like you I love roses and their wonderful fragrance. Thank you
Thank you for another very informative video! I just planted my first David Austin roses yesterday - three of The Poet's Wife!
I love watching this garden evolve. The bench and new tree will add a sweet spot to the end of the pathway; also to the entrance of your raised bed garden.
I love starting my day with you Laura! Watching your garden come alive is giving me hope… the roses will be beautiful in the new garden…spring is near! And that little girl squeal at the end was a bonus🤗
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
I love it when Laura is on beast mode
That soil and the way you cut right through with the shovel 😍 Hard Colorado
clay and the million rocks someone added in the yard - that would take me a good hour to transplant one rose.
Oh that is just what that spot needed, the roses will add to the formal look of that area
I love watching you work in your garden it makes me really look at mines great video
Small world, was about to order some David Austin roses and transplant some of that I already got elsewhere in my garden
Oh that cute little Samantha Grace, such a sweetheart! Can't wait to see these transplants bloom.
That west garden is THE VERY BEST
If you decide to put a tree with a bench there …are you concerned that the tree will eventually shade the roses? Maybe the direction of the sun won’t effect it…not sure. Love your ideas!
The roses will be stunning with the arbs in the background. You need to pick up a pair of sunglasses for little miss adorable, Benjamin will be using his.
🌹Good day to all! I know it will be a wonderful new week now that spring has officially arrived and Laura is transplanting roses to make way for progress on the Hartley. Thank you, Laura, for spreading the joy no matter what the season, and for making my cuppa taste extra good as I watch the sunrise and you! Enjoy a beautiful day everyone 💐🌝☕️
You are just a marvel. I’m so glad I’m too old to work that hard!😅. But, your tips for us, the Mid-ways, your enthusiasm, love and respect for your grounds, and your in depth understanding of where you are going, and what you are doing is an inspiration to any age, or stage of a Gardner! Thank you!❤️🔥
Happy Spring 🌻🐣🌸
So funny seeing Cheddar not Russell I guess he wanted more camera time. Haha
You make me want a “David Austin” rose :)
ua-cam.com/video/IM_SZ2G9X0w/v-deo.html
Get it
I’m so used to seeing you dig holes with an auger, it took me by surprise to see you pull out a shovel for those planting holes!
Wow ! I dug one rose out and transplanted it and was sore the next day! Grant it I’m at least almost twenty years older then you and deal with clay soil .
I witnessed Mary Rose being raised from my apartment in Southsea Portsmouth in 1983 , it was Henry the V111 battleship.
If you know you're going to be moving roses, an option is to go around with a spade to cut the main roots which will trigger growth of feeder roots. Next season when you lift the plant it'll get reestablished quicker.
We love you Laura, even if you think you are crazy lol, wish I was near to get some of those stones
Laura digging is the asmr I didn’t know I needed.
Hi Laura and Aaron! I hope your roses do well where you transplanted them. That will be really pretty. Samantha Grace is such a little ham, so cute! Thank you so much for sharing!
