I'll never stop saying it, but their chemistry is truly incredible. ❤ Tom is always complimenting Kristin or trying to make her laugh. At times it even seems like they take a while to answer questions because they're in their own world talking to each other. ☺️
Thanks for sharing! This maybe the best panel discussion I have seen of Smallville. I love Rosenbaum but man he loves the attention and I feel it takes the cast out of the panel every time. These two have great chemistry and the questions were fire!!
Tom and Kristin's chemistry is what made me fall in love with Smallville in the first place. They have one of the best on screen chemistry I've ever seen! It was heartwarming to hear Kristin talked about how safe she felt with Tom, she was really shy and reserved during the first few years of Smallville so for her to say that she felt safe and protected with Tom means a lot and speak volume of the kind of man he is. That safety and trust could be felt strongly on screen, the first scene that come to mind is Clana's 'You And Me' prom dance in S4 we coud see and feel how Lana felt safe and so at ease in Clark's arms, they both felt so at ease with each other, their chemistry and synergy were beautiful to watch 😍Also I'm happy KK brought up their staring moments I absolutely LOVE all the Clana's staring moments in the series, the writers knew that Kristin and Tom's chemistry speaks for itself.
Personally I think their chemistry went beyond just feeling safe with one another. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that at one point they were very much attracted to each other, as in had the hots for each other, kind of like a puppy love/ budding romance kind of thing if you know what I mean. Even today you still pick up on it a little bit on these panels if you pay close enough attention, but of course they're both professionals and are not going to spill the beans on all of that, and Tom more than Kristin probably would want to keep some of his more romantic feelings for her on the down low I'm sure for obvious reasons.
@@vbrandy7088 I totally agree! They’re chemistry is what kept me tuned in every week when it aired 20 years ago. That prom dance scene is my favorite! I come back to it often just to relish their gazes towards each other. Such a tender moment with my favorite band playing in the background.

@@Clana4ever Lol I’m sorry and I mean this with the utmost respect that I can muster, but that just sounds like you’re badly projecting your love for Clana onto Tom and Kristin. This is what I cannot abide in some hardcore shippers. Just because two actors create great chemistry on screen does not mean they secretly develop real life romantic feelings for each other. (Not saying it doesn’t happen, i.e Ginnifer Goodwin & Josh Dallas on OUAT who ended up getting married for real and never hid anything but it’s rare). Tom was married at the time, hell Kristin even went to his first wedding back in 2002. Just because they’re comfortable around each other and produced great chemistry on screen does NOT mean they actually had the hots for each other in real life nor did it ever mean that Tom ever had romantic feelings for Kristin. They have huge respect for one another and are both professionals and moreover just good friends. They never had to hide anything because there was nothing to hide. Tom is now married to his second wife Jessica and she’s his endgame.

But for me the chemistry on screen was just WAY to realistic for them to not have had something at one point. The kisses were just to real, everything was just to real. And keep in mind Tom and Kristin weren't that good of actors yet when they had their romantic scenes together in the first few seasons. Now, all of that being said, I'm not at all saying he cheated on his previous wife (though he could have), or his current wife. All I'm saying is there was a real attraction there, and maybe, just maybe, Tom might have dated Kristin in the first 3 or 4 seasons of Smallville. But believe what you want, it's not like either one of us has solid evidence either way. Learn to chill some.

I absolutely LOVE how animated and excited Kristin got at 15:30 at the prospect of a Smallville play and just ran with it while Tom was sat there thinking“I was just going to say no” 🤣 and Kristin constantly trying to get out of it by making it about Clois and Tom calling her out on it! I adore these two! ❤ this panel was hilarious! You can tell that KK is getting a lot more comfortable during these panels now and is falling back into rhythm with Tom (their banter is so great!) and I’m so here for it! I’ve noticed that about Kristin too! When she first showed up to the Dallas convention in 2019 with Michael and Tom she was definitely more shy. But now, look at her! She’s a bright light that we can’t get enough of! 🤩✨🌟💫
Lol I was at Smallville nights on Saturday and Tom's right Kristin is definitely the Mom of the cast, she keeps everyone in line and the boys get scared of her but it's great. It was also great to see Kristin and Erica at Smallville nights with Michael and Tom. Go Smallville!

Agreed! I’ve noticed the more Kristin does these panels and spends more time with Tom, they fall back into that familiarity and comfort with one another. Notice how they’re more touchy (in a friendly way, obvs!) teasing each other and Kristin is a lot more playful with him like she is with Michael. Tom was also very complimentary towards her - “have you seen how she looked on Smallville? I’m surprised more people weren’t obsessed with her” when he’s normally a lot more reserved with those opinions - I can only recall one other panel where he calls her beautiful and easy to look at and that was a few years ago I think.
@@seriouslyzany9232 For me personally, I always find it hard to express the truth about someone so I rather not say it publicly. Back in high school, I remembered thinking how good-looking one of my friends was but I never told anyone. It’s too embarrassing.
It was awesome, I loved this panel. The more I see these two together when it's just them, and they're totally in their element, the more I see that special connection they had (and possibly still do have). The Clana vibes are amazing in this, probably the 2nd best panel I've seen of just them.
@@Clana4ever that one was over two days right? I found Kristin to still be shy in that one, plus the stopping for translators slowed it down I think, so the flow wasn't there. I will have to watch it again though, it's been a while. This one though has really got me excited for any future Clana panels because the more time they spend together, the more comfortable they get and it's so fun to watch. I laughed out loud multiple times with this one.
@@seriouslyzany9232 Yeah, this one was great. honestly it could be a toss up between the two, it's been awhile since I've seen the Paris one so I might be remembering it more fondly than what it was. I do have to say that despite the slower pace and needing translators though they were both totally in their element and you get the loveydoby Clana vibes from them in it a lot. But yeah, either or, this one is amazing too. What I like about this one the most is they're vibing so much with each other that at times they're mirroring each other's hand jesters. Not sure if you noticed that or not, I'm an observant person and pick up on all sorts of stuff like that though haha.

I think that line about “feeling lonely even when I was with you” resonated deeply with her? Or maybe she just really felt for Lana idk but she felt that for sure!
@@seriouslyzany9232 Kristin tends to make her characters her own, as such there's aspects about her real personality in Lana. Things like reading books to take her mind off of things that are bothering her, and her feeling lonely at times not necessarily for the same reasons Lana feels lonely but more so given her more introverted nature and having to live far away from family at times because of her job all show. So I think there's this interesting dynamic to see play out with her and her characters. There are other personality traits of her in real life that show up when she plays Joanna. Different things than Lana, but still very much a part of her.
@seriouslyzany9232 Personally my favorite look for her was in S3 of Smallville but I totally get what you're saying. In her new show, she's easily prettier than she is in Burden of Truth and possibly even BATB. I just don't get how she does it! It's like she aged some and then reversed it, or I don't know, maybe it's just certain features are becoming more prominent. I do think her lips look better/ fuller and her cheeks fuller and more shapely than 5 years ago. But I still don't understand how she's doing it. She's super human!

Well… in my opinion, the obvious answer which neither one them will admit, is that they’re both insanely attractive people especially in their prime (early 20s). So, it was easy to have chemistry. All the other fluff they said about being safe with each other and yadayada is cool and all. But c’mon. Let be real.. they’re gonna say the politically correct thing to the fans and whomever is watching but we all know the basic recipe that helps keep their chemistry going on for all these years. 🤷♀️
@@September_RainsI guess what also helps was that they were both humble and the least experienced actors there. Although Kristin had done two shows already, she was still an amateur actor compared to the others. Tom was definitely a newb which I think helped with building their chemistry because he was probably genuinely attracted to her and it SHOWED on screen

It’s true to life thought right, how many times have we helped someone in a small way to us, as if it’s nothing without realising the impact it’s had on the other person. To Kristin in that moment it was no big deal, she was helping out a potential cast member. To Tom, it made his audition.
I think to Kristin it meant something to help Tom out, even if she can't quite remember anymore because she felt better working with Tom than with Jensen, and keep in mind she's said she felt like she had chemistry with Jensen, so it just shows how much more she had with Tom. So in her defense, I really think this comes down to like so many other things in the early seasons, and she just doesn't remember much because she had high amounts of anxiety in those years. something she has remarked on several times now.
@@SynthwaveLana honestly, I think it was just her need to help someone who has clearly forgotten their lines. Like I cannot see her standing there and watch Tom or someone else struggle, she would be the type to help you out if she can, regardless of who you are - it's also why she wouldn't remember that, because it was a small gesture from her part, but not something she really had to go out of her way to do - because it was second nature to her.
I just wanted to ask her perspective, like what did Tom look like? How did she figure it out that he didn't know his line and wasn't just taking a long dramatic pause.

About time Creation Con did a Smallville convention!! Their biggest crowds come from the Supernatural cast which is a show I do adore. :) Unfortunately many diehard Smallville fans could not get into Supernatural as some of them found it too scary to watch. Love this crowd! Love Smallville and SPN!

Tom reacts that way whenever people ask him about his chemistry on the show with Kristin, Erica and other ladies he's kissed as Clark. I think Tom is very professional for himself and the other actors involved. It was a job to him, and they all had their own private lives and relationships separate from each other. It is clear that he's good friends with the cast though, and that's always nice to see.

But I think its important not to blur the lines between their acting chemistry and their friendship chemistry. People have said the same about Erica and Tom, saying they had a secret affair, and I think it's a line we shouldn't cross as fans. Many of these actors were in relationships/marriages at the time and are in relationships now, so its not fair to the actors and their personal lives. Of course its fun to discuss and get excited about their chemistry on the show, through their characters. They all did a great job as their characters and seem like amazing people!

But I haven't been able to come across enough evidence for it, so I don't really talk about the past between them since I really have no idea. Crazy things happen, affairs, things of this nature, but I agree if we don't have the facts probably not right to say that's how things went down unless you're stating it clearly as an opinion and not a fact. Today though I don't know, when I see them at these panels what I'm observing seems to be a budding romance. The way they act in real life currently is not the chemistry of friends, they act like a couple for all intents and purposes. Again, just my opinion, and I'm not at all saying they are seeing each other. Only that it appears something is going on. Maybe it's just because they're attracted to each other and there's nothing more to it. People after all can be attracted to someone but never act on it 🤷

I love the way how Kristin put it. Lana and Clark were soulmates, but Lois had more of what Clark needed at a particular point in time. Less emotional drama ect. So while Lana was indeed his true love, due to the circumstances and lack of communication at times, combined with never being able to be together long enough due to plot, it just ended the way it did. This both shows that Lana could have been his end game, but also why given the story she wasn't.

Lana was his soulmate, they loved each other through thick and thin, together or apart, the love was always there. And if Kristin confirming they were soulmates in this panel isn't enough for you, even Al Gough, the executive producer of the show said Clark will always love Lana. Basically confirming that he never stops loving her even after getting with Lois. The reality of the matter is Lois was the rebound girl when he had no one else. That's the truth of the show whether you want to accept it or not, it's there for all to see as plain as day.

@@mnlipat it wasn’t packeddd but it was good sized audience! Plus at this con, there were always other things happening during each panel (photo ops, the other acting signing autographs, etc) so it was impossible for people to do it all. I’d love more Clana panels in the future though! 🥹

She said he was very easy to work with and in my opinion her chemistry with Jensen was very natural and easy flowing and she showed as little bit of her own personality playing Lana when she was In a relationship with Jason. Kristin stated in an interview or podcast that she had chemistry Jensen at the audition. I’m a big Clana fan and I didn’t like the Jason/Lana relationship but I did notice a difference. I don’t know who they were referring to but I doubt it’s Jensen 🤷♀️

The audience getting upset and boo’ing Tom’s compliments to Kristin was really absurd. The fan theorizing that Lana must’ve had a meteor power essentially forcing or causing guys to be obsessed with her is what should have been booed. ‘Lana’ is a physically beautiful character portrayed by an obviously beautiful actress, so asking the question “did you get a script and say ohh here’s another person obsessed with Lana” is backhanded and weird. What’s it doing, punching up to make Kristin feel beauty-guilt? Why get mad at Tom for keeping it real about Kristin being the most beautiful actress? Anyway, I’m glad Tom Welling didn’t apologize. 😂😅

It almost looked like that. Tom was a lil confused why they were booing but his back was faced toward the guy who had to end the panel. The audience wanted more time especially since the guy ended the questions right when it was getting juicy.

Others have explained the booing (I felt so bad for Tom then but love that he stood his ground - also how Kristin reached out and touched him at the end like "it's okay I know it wasn't toward you" What i wanted to add was that, if you watch her solo panel where someone brings up that theory, when Kristin says it back to them out loud it sounds so ridiculous that the audience begins to laugh and then she calls it a crappy meteor power lol! Kristin knows it (she even says "so do I" when Tom says there are so many better reasons than this") but she (unlike Tom lmao) likes a hypothetical and it's new to her so she found it somewhat interesting.
It's generally been said that Kristin keeps the boys in line lol,. You can definitely see it with Michael - because they are so opposite - he calms down quite a bit when she's there, compared to when she isn't.
Kristin in real life is more of a quiet and reserved person, and she values peace, so when working with other actors she tends to speak out when they're getting to rambunctious. Apparently, this has been true as far back as Smallville when she's on set, preparing for roles, doing her makeup, or just chilling reading a book at the studio, she will try calm things down lol.
@@SynthwaveLana that's one of the things i love about her; she doesn't try to be something else or put on a show, she is just authentically herself and doesn't shy away from it. As an introvert myself, it made me feel okay about myself and not find it to be such a hindrance. I will speak up when I feel the need but I am comfortable to be in my own space. She has joked about this before and in her panel, but being around someone as high energy, unpredictable and loud as Michael can be too much and at times stressful, I'd imagine she would need to to be by herself to recharge after working with him all day lol and just chill out with a book. You could see on earlier panels, whenever Michael would interrupt a fan asking a question and just walk off stage, or start talking to someone else, she would get embarrassed and at times even apologize to the fan or tell Michael to stop lol.

@@SynthwaveLana I was thinking the same thing because most of the recurring guest stars were guest on Talkville and the boys spoke very highly of them. They mentioned Ian a little bit during season 3 of talkville and they talked about a couple of things they didn’t like during his time on smallville but it was very quick and dry

This panel is hilarious I love their bond
Tom and Kristin's chemistry is what made me fall in love with Smallville in the first place. They have one of the best on screen chemistry I've ever seen! It was heartwarming to hear Kristin talked about how safe she felt with Tom, she was really shy and reserved during the first few years of Smallville so for her to say that she felt safe and protected with Tom means a lot and speak volume of the kind of man he is. That safety and trust could be felt strongly on screen, the first scene that come to mind is Clana's 'You And Me' prom dance in S4 we coud see and feel how Lana felt safe and so at ease in Clark's arms, they both felt so at ease with each other, their chemistry and synergy were beautiful to watch 😍Also I'm happy KK brought up their staring moments I absolutely LOVE all the Clana's staring moments in the series, the writers knew that Kristin and Tom's chemistry speaks for itself.
Personally I think their chemistry went beyond just feeling safe with one another. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that at one point they were very much attracted to each other, as in had the hots for each other, kind of like a puppy love/ budding romance kind of thing if you know what I mean. Even today you still pick up on it a little bit on these panels if you pay close enough attention, but of course they're both professionals and are not going to spill the beans on all of that, and Tom more than Kristin probably would want to keep some of his more romantic feelings for her on the down low I'm sure for obvious reasons.
@@vbrandy7088 I totally agree! They’re chemistry is what kept me tuned in every week when it aired 20 years ago. That prom dance scene is my favorite! I come back to it often just to relish their gazes towards each other. Such a tender moment with my favorite band playing in the background.

This is what I cannot abide in some hardcore shippers. Just because two actors create great chemistry on screen does not mean they secretly develop real life romantic feelings for each other. (Not saying it doesn’t happen, i.e Ginnifer Goodwin & Josh Dallas on OUAT who ended up getting married for real and never hid anything but it’s rare). Tom was married at the time, hell Kristin even went to his first wedding back in 2002. Just because they’re comfortable around each other and produced great chemistry on screen does NOT mean they actually had the hots for each other in real life nor did it ever mean that Tom ever had romantic feelings for Kristin. They have huge respect for one another and are both professionals and moreover just good friends. They never had to hide anything because there was nothing to hide. Tom is now married to his second wife Jessica and she’s his endgame.

But for me the chemistry on screen was just WAY to realistic for them to not have had something at one point. The kisses were just to real, everything was just to real. And keep in mind Tom and Kristin weren't that good of actors yet when they had their romantic scenes together in the first few seasons.
Now, all of that being said, I'm not at all saying he cheated on his previous wife (though he could have), or his current wife.
All I'm saying is there was a real attraction there, and maybe, just maybe, Tom might have dated Kristin in the first 3 or 4 seasons of Smallville.
But believe what you want, it's not like either one of us has solid evidence either way.
Learn to chill some.

Agreed! I’ve noticed the more Kristin does these panels and spends more time with Tom, they fall back into that familiarity and comfort with one another.
Notice how they’re more touchy (in a friendly way, obvs!) teasing each other and Kristin is a lot more playful with him like she is with Michael. Tom was also very complimentary towards her - “have you seen how she looked on Smallville? I’m surprised more people weren’t obsessed with her” when he’s normally a lot more reserved with those opinions - I can only recall one other panel where he calls her beautiful and easy to look at and that was a few years ago I think.

It was awesome, I loved this panel. The more I see these two together when it's just them, and they're totally in their element, the more I see that special connection they had (and possibly still do have). The Clana vibes are amazing in this, probably the 2nd best panel I've seen of just them.

@@Clana4ever that one was over two days right? I found Kristin to still be shy in that one, plus the stopping for translators slowed it down I think, so the flow wasn't there. I will have to watch it again though, it's been a while. This one though has really got me excited for any future Clana panels because the more time they spend together, the more comfortable they get and it's so fun to watch. I laughed out loud multiple times with this one.

I do have to say that despite the slower pace and needing translators though they were both totally in their element and you get the loveydoby Clana vibes from them in it a lot.
But yeah, either or, this one is amazing too.
What I like about this one the most is they're vibing so much with each other that at times they're mirroring each other's hand jesters.

@@seriouslyzany9232 Kristin tends to make her characters her own, as such there's aspects about her real personality in Lana.
Things like reading books to take her mind off of things that are bothering her, and her feeling lonely at times not necessarily for the same reasons Lana feels lonely but more so given her more introverted nature and having to live far away from family at times because of her job all show.
So I think there's this interesting dynamic to see play out with her and her characters. There are other personality traits of her in real life that show up when she plays Joanna. Different things than Lana, but still very much a part of her.

Well… in my opinion, the obvious answer which neither one them will admit, is that they’re both insanely attractive people especially in their prime (early 20s). So, it was easy to have chemistry. All the other fluff they said about being safe with each other and yadayada is cool and all. But c’mon. Let be real.. they’re gonna say the politically correct thing to the fans and whomever is watching but we all know the basic recipe that helps keep their chemistry going on for all these years. 🤷♀️

Although Kristin had done two shows already, she was still an amateur actor compared to the others. I always wanted to ask Kristin's perspective from Tom's final audition when she mouthed Tom's line to him. Turns out she doesn't remember it
It’s true to life thought right, how many times have we helped someone in a small way to us, as if it’s nothing without realising the impact it’s had on the other person. To Kristin in that moment it was no big deal, she was helping out a potential cast member. To Tom, it made his audition.
I think to Kristin it meant something to help Tom out, even if she can't quite remember anymore because she felt better working with Tom than with Jensen, and keep in mind she's said she felt like she had chemistry with Jensen, so it just shows how much more she had with Tom. So in her defense, I really think this comes down to like so many other things in the early seasons, and she just doesn't remember much because she had high amounts of anxiety in those years. something she has remarked on several times now.

Like I cannot see her standing there and watch Tom or someone else struggle, she would be the type to help you out if she can, regardless of who you are - it's also why she wouldn't remember that, because it was a small gesture from her part, but not something she really had to go out of her way to do - because it was second nature to her.

I think Tom is very professional for himself and the other actors involved. It was a job to him, and they all had their own private lives and relationships separate from each other. It is clear that he's good friends with the cast though, and that's always nice to see.

@@SynthwaveLana There're definitely good friends, and you can see it a lot with the cast, which is pretty amazing all these years later. But I think its important not to blur the lines between their acting chemistry and their friendship chemistry. People have said the same about Erica and Tom, saying they had a secret affair, and I think it's a line we shouldn't cross as fans. Many of these actors were in relationships/marriages at the time and are in relationships now, so its not fair to the actors and their personal lives. Of course its fun to discuss and get excited about their chemistry on the show, through their characters. They all did a great job as their characters and seem like amazing people!

But I haven't been able to come across enough evidence for it, so I don't really talk about the past between them since I really have no idea. Today though I don't know, when I see them at these panels what I'm observing seems to be a budding romance. The way they act in real life currently is not the chemistry of friends, they act like a couple for all intents and purposes.

I love the way how Kristin put it. Lana and Clark were soulmates, but Lois had more of what Clark needed at a particular point in time. Less emotional drama ect. So while Lana was indeed his true love, due to the circumstances and lack of communication at times, combined with never being able to be together long enough due to plot, it just ended the way it did.
This both shows that Lana could have been his end game, but also why given the story she wasn't.

Basically confirming that he never stops loving her even after getting with Lois.
The reality of the matter is Lois was the rebound girl when he had no one else. That's the truth of the show whether you want to accept it or not, it's there for all to see as plain as day.

@@mnlipat it wasn’t packeddd but it was good sized audience! Plus at this con, there were always other things happening during each panel (photo ops, the other acting signing autographs, etc) so it was impossible for people to do it all. I’d love more Clana panels in the future though! 🥹

I think it’s probably Jensen Ackles. She had no chemistry with him. And he’s a really good actor, so I didn’t understand why they seemed off.

She said he was very easy to work with and in my opinion her chemistry with Jensen was very natural and easy flowing and she showed as little bit of her own personality playing Lana when she was In a relationship with Jason. Kristin stated in an interview or podcast that she had chemistry Jensen at the audition. I’m a big Clana fan and I didn’t like the Jason/Lana relationship but I did notice a difference.

The audience getting upset and boo’ing Tom’s compliments to Kristin was really absurd. The fan theorizing that Lana must’ve had a meteor power essentially forcing or causing guys to be obsessed with her is what should have been booed. ‘Lana’ is a physically beautiful character portrayed by an obviously beautiful actress, so asking the question “did you get a script and say ohh here’s another person obsessed with Lana” is backhanded and weird. What’s it doing, punching up to make Kristin feel beauty-guilt? Why get mad at Tom for keeping it real about Kristin being the most beautiful actress? Anyway, I’m glad Tom Welling didn’t apologize. 😂😅

It almost looked like that. Tom was a lil confused why they were booing but his back was faced toward the guy who had to end the panel. The audience wanted more time especially since the guy ended the questions right when it was getting juicy.

What i wanted to add was that, if you watch her solo panel where someone brings up that theory, when Kristin says it back to them out loud it sounds so ridiculous that the audience begins to laugh and then she calls it a crappy meteor power lol! Kristin knows it (she even says "so do I" when Tom says there are so many better reasons than this") but she (unlike Tom lmao) likes a hypothetical and it's new to her so she found it somewhat interesting.

It's generally been said that Kristin keeps the boys in line lol,. You can definitely see it with Michael - because they are so opposite - he calms down quite a bit when she's there, compared to when she isn't.
Kristin in real life is more of a quiet and reserved person, and she values peace, so when working with other actors she tends to speak out when they're getting to rambunctious. Apparently, this has been true as far back as Smallville when she's on set, preparing for roles, doing her makeup, or just chilling reading a book at the studio, she will try calm things down lol.

@@SynthwaveLana that's one of the things i love about her; she doesn't try to be something else or put on a show, she is just authentically herself and doesn't shy away from it. As an introvert myself, it made me feel okay about myself and not find it to be such a hindrance. I will speak up when I feel the need but I am comfortable to be in my own space.
She has joked about this before and in her panel, but being around someone as high energy, unpredictable and loud as Michael can be too much and at times stressful, I'd imagine she would need to to be by herself to recharge after working with him all day lol and just chill out with a book.
You could see on earlier panels, whenever Michael would interrupt a fan asking a question and just walk off stage, or start talking to someone else, she would get embarrassed and at times even apologize to the fan or tell Michael to stop lol.

@@SynthwaveLana I was thinking the same thing because most of the recurring guest stars were guest on Talkville and the boys spoke very highly of them. They mentioned Ian a little bit during season 3 of talkville and they talked about a couple of things they didn’t like during his time on smallville but it was very quick and dry
