- I decided to mark this as comedy because even though this is 100% true ASMR content, there are definitely joke aspects to it and I want it to be clear to everyone that they are in fact jokes. I wanted to make fun of myself in a light hearted way, so I made a list of things that I would love to be told as an artist. I hope you enjoy them and maybe get a kick out of it, but hopefully it’s truly relaxing as well. That’s my goal with this video :)

My aunt tagged me in a post looking for a professional chalkboard artist. I’m a theatre student who draws like twice a year and haven’t touched chalk since I was about ten.
I do both tho (art as a hobby, graphic design as a profession) so it made me chuckle. I thought it would end with "won't ask for that work for free" because I get that sometimes.
This was my favorite too. Dying.

I was a draftsman for 32 years, mostly in civil engineering companies and State government, and your affirmation: "There are no revisions, no edits, we like your work just the way it is" made me about fall out of my chair laughing. Those are exactly the words that a draftsman would give ANYTHING to hear from the boss, but no, what we usually heard, typically on Friday in the late afternoon, was: "This project is already behind schedule, and the client has just let us know that they are re-orienting the (whatever it is) 45° clockwise due to a right-of-way encroachment. So the entire set of project plans will have to be re-done. Can you come in this weekend for a few hours and make the changes?". The boss is, of course, a Civil Engineer who is completely clueless and has no idea that re-drawing the 18 plan sheets that will be affected by this client's land surveyor's screwup is going to consume no less than 160 extra hours of work by each of the 5 drafting techs in your design section. Yeah, right: "the plans are perfect, with no editing needed". Dream on!
My dad is a draftsman. When I was a kid I went to work with him sometimes and would watch him work for hours. I thought it was so cool. Sometimes he would give me paper and let me sit next to him and draw too.
As a Psychology graduate student working on my Master’s thesis, I can REALLY appreciate the “no edits, no revisions” affirmation. Hilarious and helpful. Your work is a true gift.
I wish you success on completing your thesis! I work at the office of graduate studies at the university and the spring thesis deadline recently passed.

Haha, it's ok that's how i was at first too, drawing other people's styles but now i finally got one I'm comfortable without, for the most part, hopefully the same will happen to you ^^

My tablet pen is where it needs to be! Top tip to anyone: I've been a digital artist for roundabouts 10 years now, keep your tablet in a neoprene zip laptop case! All the necessary accessories, like the tablet pet, fit in the extra compartment! It once prevented a dog from chewing on my $400 equiptment that I had put out of her reach AND SHE GOT TO IT ANYWAYS I-

I’m a designer & writer and so much of this is applicable to my life (invoices, revisions, deadlines, commission rates, color conversion, & working on the proper layer in particular.) 💖

this is so underrated. I've been struggling for years with motivation. I needed someone to tell me that I'm doing good and that I'm not wasting my time. It gets hard sometimes to keep going when you're surrounded by people more talented than you. I'm so grateful for this video.

I used to compare my art to others sometimes and i can feel intimidated when i see the comparison.
