    This is goldmine! It's the intention similar like Amazon to Google, the traffic already have intention to buy. And its a lot of work to focus on social media with disappointing results as we're disrupting their feeds. Thank you for this video😊

    I like the idea of getting the SEO ready... But it will only work when Etsy is not hiding the listings (because it has to let all shops be found... but they can't be found at the same time. Then there's a rotation).
    Is there any way to work around this?

    Thank you so much for this video. I was wondering if you could answer a quick questions for me. I currently have a website and an Etsy. My Etsy is 85% of my income. My Etsy shop is almost at $100k in sales this year. My views are 72K this year conversion 1.9% but my link to my etsy is on my instagram page but as a linktree. My shop is not connected to IG, my actual website is. I wanted stop my website and add my Etsy instead since I get way more sales on Etsy. Do you think I should add my Etsy? I notice you talked about conversion rates for beginners but wondering if it would be wise to switch it. I do run ads on IG sometimes and have gotten great sales from it. Hopefully you can help.

    I believe it's important to gain visibility. A through Etsy ads and focus on Etsy seo first getting reviews and first sales.
    Google SEO is not easy to influence as your Etsy shop needs to be indexed which takes time and depends how often Etsy gets crawled and puts you in their sitemap.
    I believe social traffic is essential. Because how etsies flywheel works: new shop brings new products and new products bri g new user, brings new sales to the marketplace. So Etsy will put you in front of users if they see you also bring new users to their platform.
    If you only focus on the intend traffic you focus only on 5% of your potential market. Instagram and pinterest will drive demand but a bit delayed but you focus on the other 95%.
    That's how you build a long lasting brand think mod to long-term instead of the short-term view.

    Maybe it depends on the niche? How about you you sell digital products that is related to Instagram then you really need to use Instagram to promote your digital products. But for that it's more better use stand alone website too less fees.

    Doesn't Etsy separate the traffic that you bring vs what Etsy brings in? Couldn't they use that in their algorithm to separate that in their calculations. I could be wrong, but logically, why would they not make it more advantageous for you if you are promoting Etsy independently? Seems like that's something they'd want us to do for the benefit of getting people onto their website. I agree it might not be the best use of your time, but you'd hope Etsy wouldn't penalize you for bringing people to the site.

    • @jrod1577
      @jrod1577 3 місяці тому

      This is correct. Pretty much all shopping sites(etsy, amazon, ebay, etc.) has implemented very detailed data analytics on each and every user that comes onto their sites. They are able to tell if you came from google ads, instagram, youtube, etc. or if you just came to the site on your own. They know what your interested in, how long you have been looking at the product, how long you scroll for, how many items you looked at before making a purchase, and so much more. They then use this data to tailor the site to you to increase your odds of making a purchase and even making other purchases. They know what is popular and what isn't. What is gaining traction and what isn't. What has increased odds of selling and what doesnt.
      At the end of the day, Etsy wants your money and they have spent more than millions to ensure that they'll get their money.
      So the "algorithm" to get sales of your product really boils down to getting as much traffic to your etsy shop as possible and get ANY sales you can get. You likely will have to pay money to advertise your product and drive traffic. It takes money to make money. The more sales you make, the more Etsy will push your product for more sales too because they want to keep that momentum going as long as possible. The conversion rate isn't the primary focus, its the amount of money that can be made from your product. The conversion rate is just a small factor.

    • @thetalkshop
      @thetalkshop  Рік тому

    You haven't tested this. You're telling a just-so story. Why would Etsy penalize people bringing in outside traffic to their platform??!?

    • @thetalkshop
      @thetalkshop  Рік тому

      It’s not that Etsy penalizes it’s that the type of traffic that comes to Etsy, has a much lower conversion rate. And lower conversion rate hurt growth. I have see seen this because I bring people from UA-cam to my shops and I see a very clear decrease in conversion rate. My hope is that I can monetize the viewership to make it worth it.

    Disagree with this vid..
    When I pause or stall IG posts or pics...
    My etsy also stalls ...
    IG has its own sales btw...
    So to say its only for social is not even true... not only that etsy is free advertising!
    After watching this video it seems as if etsy is paying for this "info"

    • @thetalkshop
      @thetalkshop  Рік тому

      Your conversion rate coming from a Instagram is much smaller than what you would’ve got if you ranked on Etsy, that’s why your Etsy stalled the moment you stop posting. There’s nothing wrong with pursuing Instagram, but it doesn’t compare to Etsys customer and their conversion rate

    • @thetalkshop
      @thetalkshop  Рік тому

      It’s all about the kind of customer that you choose to pursue, and the customer from Etsy has a better ROI

      I have had an etsy store for a little over 3 years now...
      My cheapest item is over 400.00!
      There are less than a handful of people as my competition..
      Of course taco sales have a higher conversion rate if your sitting in the taco shop drive through..
      But you have to get them there in the first place..for a brand new etsy store that literally has next to no traffic then I guess you just sit waiting...
      Or you go outside of the platform to draw...
      Unless you are selling items which everyone else is selling...
      I guess we agree to disagree on this..

    • @thetalkshop
      @thetalkshop  Рік тому

      @@therealdeal4492 ya with larger ticked items that don’t get much search volume it is get traffic where you can, unless your selling product that has high search volume on Etsy.
