Great video! Thank you, Dylan! Are you recommending to duplicate every listing? I hear you say, "duplicate and switch out the listing photo after each example." New to this! Thank you!
I would like info as well, it is really interesting for qll of us, I guess. Because many Etsy experts says that commas is necessary, without commas is a kind one long keyword but nobody write so long keyword.
I was wondering the same thing regarding commas. Do commas enable the customer to read the title more easily without impeding the bot / algorithm? I think the Etsy algorithm can read through the commas, but so much conflicting guidance?
@@robertajaraminaite753 from an SEO perspective (Google SEO expert here - it’s what I do for my day job): Each word has visibility power. Etsy as a search engine (as well as Pinterest and google) all have their algorithms at least as sophisticated enough to recognize keywords separately. Think of those spaces as “commas”. As long as you’re not repeating the exact same keyword phrase over and over and over again, the commas are really just character hogs you can use for other things.

I thought Etsy wanted more natural language as their titles? Readability of those suggested titles makes no actual sense?? Is that right? Seems like spammy / keyword stuffing to me, which is what Google hate, and Etsy say their moving away from to?! Thoughts.... (without the "reach out for more info plug) 🙂 thanks

Another coach said same thing about the repeating key word or keep updating too often have negative affect on Etsy. Does long tail keywords affect positive result although has repeated word/noun?
Hello Dylan, I just started my Etsy store today and have gotten several messages from people asking if I am using a professional SEO service and that I should use one to help my store. Is this something that I should invest in or is this something that I can do on my own and achieve the same results. This is very helpful, Thank you! I can't wait till I get started. One question though: forgive my ignorance, but once you list the long tail key words why do you say "I will duplicate and change out the listing photo" . what am I missing here? are you duplicating for the description section?

I think I understand how to come up with the keywords appropriately now. Thank you for the detailed video! Only thing that still isnt making sense to me is the parts where you say duplicate the listing, change the image. This may be a stupid question but are saying to duplicate the listing and have two listings for the same product but different keywords? Or are you saying duplicate the listing for another product and update the keywords? Just trying to understand why I wouldnt just update my current listings instead of duplicating them.
That is so great to hear! We actually go over this in detail in module 4. What are your goals and are you wanting to go full time with your shop or is this more of a hobby?

Another 6 figure shopper said he uses memorable names for his products. His logic is keywords get you the traffic, but with memorable names your customers are more likely to remember you. It helps you with branding. So I have 2 questions - 1) I read that the first 4 words in the title are very important for SEO. So can someone use the template of - 4 words keyword, followed by a memorable name, followed by more keywords? 2) This memorable names strategy - is it something that more established shop owners can afford to have, and the newbies better stick to keywords based titles? I am confused, because new shop owner needs both - more traffic, as well as repeat customers.
Great info, but I have a question. You cover individual, one off products, but what if you are selling something like themed art? Would you make the title the same for each product or use it as an opportunity to get more keywords, ie different title seo for basically the same product?

So many people in the messages are confused about the commas. If someone knows about this, I think it would help a lot of people out. Can the algorithm read past and through the commas, or does putting the commas in actually impact the SEO by breaking things up?
If anyone else knows about this, I’m curious to learn about whether the Etsy algorithm can read through the commas in a title, or if the commas ‘break up’ what the algorithm can read?

Ok, watching this video on the title seo has me a bit confused. I wrote out the examples so I could study the breakdown of the noun~adjective~adjective but it seems like the starting word of the next grouping is a noun which means the second word of the previous grouping is a noun vs an adjective..is the tip just for the initial grouping?

Hello. did you find out if it does mean 'listing the same duplicate item to shop with a different description'? I was curious about that too but can't see an answer in comments. I didn't know we should list items more than once.
Great information. I understand what you are saying. But why do you repeat words multiple times in the title. For example, you used "prompt" four times in the first example. I thought Etsy advised not to repeat words because the search feature looks at all words.
I'd need more info on this! If you're looking for help on this, feel free to message me anytime on Instagram @dylanjahraus and send me the code: DYLAN1

Hi Dylan, I have watched a previous video of yours regarding SEO that was posted 4 months ago and this one helped as well, I love the way you construct your SEOs. My main question is what is your method in starting to create these SEO, where the previous part basically fits in with the next part? For example the Vintage paper one, if you switched "Junk Journal" with "Vintage Scrap Book" you are missing out on "Download Junk Journal", "Journal Vintage" and Scrap Book Printable. And yes then you get other combinations but what is your thought to what combinations is best? I also have another Question, I notice you always say you duplicate a listing. Do you have the same listing twice just with a different name just so customers can better discover your products? And also, for which type of listings are you doing this POD and Digital, and do you do it with every listing or only some listings?
That's actually part of what I teach my students! I've never sold on Etsy but I'm doing research. YOUR info is actionable. Thank you for the video and the free tool. Now to do research and figure out what those terms mean on your free tool.🤣
Hello Dylan. Thanks for your videos! I have a question for you. Say we find a keyword that has low competition and good demand. I would assume it's bad practice to build a product on a single keyword. How can I populate my keyword pool while still avoiding short tail and high competition keywords?
Thank you for this Dylan! This is So informative, even if it’s a bit overwhelming! 🙂 other YTers have suggested that Etsys keywords don’t need to be in the same order, so if there is “Equality mental health T-shirt” for example, it’s been told that listing would automatically show up for equality t-shirt as well, so this is a little conflicting. Would you say that other teaching is not correct? Looking forward to more teachings!!
Would you list by function as opposed to specific when dealing with my leather niche? If I where to go looking for a particular holster, (for example), I would search for the specific firearm as there is little to no room for error when doing a search... To do a search for "hip holster for dad", you would be looking for ever. It would be like going to the auto parts store and just randomly looking until you found your model year mfg, etc... A holster for a Smith & Wesson model 29 holster will probably not fit any other firearm... (unless it was very poorly made)... Just curious as I just started listing.. I also have to commit the sin of having 2 stores as I have no idea how to integrate, my POD stuff with hand made gear...

I just watched this video and noticed that you are not using commas or a separator in the titles. I understand what you are saying, but it doesn't then read well from a customer point of view. I had heard search ignores commmas or separators?
Hi Dylan, Firstly, i just want to say your content is great. Secondly, there are so many variations on how people use SEO's. I've heard numerous times that the same word should not be used multiple times in an SEO as this could have a negative impact and also wastes space to use more words. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks Phil

In the gift shop - I'd open my doors and customers would come in - online is a WHoLE NEW WORLD for me and sometimes I say to myself, what are you doing? sigh .......I just started selling on Etsy, and this video content makes sense. Thank you - just subscribed....;)
You are so welcome! SEO is very important! Are you on Instagram by chance?
I'm conflicted. What you say about Titles makes sense, but what about Etsy's recommendation for not Stuffing? Their EtsyUp event last week talks about not Stuffing.

Only thing that still isnt making sense to me is the parts where you say duplicate the listing, change the image. Another 6 figure shopper said he uses memorable names for his products. His logic is keywords get you the traffic, but with memorable names your customers are more likely to remember you. It helps you with branding.
So I have 2 questions -
1) I read that the first 4 words in the title are very important for SEO.
Those are great questions! Feel free to DM me on IG if you want to talk more --> instagram.com/dylanjahraus/?hl=en

Is this what you are selling?
