sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
I’m not sure I see the benefit. I have rules setup that activate when I get home, it opens garage doors, turns on a couple lights inside if it’s daytime, turns on the tv, and opens my shades. If I get home latter, it turns on more lights inside, and my outside lights already come on at dark anyways. The ability to stream cameras, and do 2 way talk would be a real added benefit.
I think the biggest benefit would be for things that are conditional and not something you can program into an automation based on certain conditions. For example if you arrive home at night with younger kids that fell asleep and you want to carefully get them into their room without waking them then you may not want the porch light or other lights to turn on when getting them inside so having the ability not to run the arriving scene would be beneficial in that instance. Same thing with garage doors, I personally may not need my garage door to open every time I get home so not having it happen every time would be beneficial. It's definitely not the next sliced bread but I can see the value for some in it, and I'll be curious what others use it for. The video stream would be nice, but my guess is that brings up safety concerns with distracted driving. 2-Way audio for a doorbell though shouldn't be an issue I would assume!
I've already sorted out how to move every device i have off of SmartThings. offline. I don't think I want to buy back into their too-little too-late network.
The last year or so has been interesting with SmartThings that's for sure. I'm giving them 2021 to get sorted before I make any decisions to move but I understand why a lot of people want to / have moved away from SmartThings
Did you verify that the files showed on your USB drive before removing it from your computer? Also make sure that you eject it from the computer before physically removing it.
Make sure you have the USB drive plugged into the port labeled USB, and not one of the others. This would be the same port you plug your phone into for Android Auto or Apple Car Play. It's also possible your car just has the latest version running as well. It was released in November of 2020 so if you got it after, or brought it into the dealer since then it could be running the latest version
To my knowledge only the k5 has wireless Android Auto, and its planned to be released in new models in the coming years. Unfortunately a software update alone would not give you wireless Android Auto in the 2021 Seltos.
I strive for automation over routines as much as possible so I don't see a benefit here. Also post 2020 I work from home, without a commute I don't even use Android auto anymore.
I think this is going to be more geared towards people who might not really use automations for smartthings. I can think of a few situations where I wouldn't want to necessarily have something trigger every time I come home and what determines if it should run or not isn't possible for SmartThings / webCoRE to figure out. So in instances like that having the ability to manually trigger a automation would be handy. Not a feature for everyone that's for sure, but it's nice to see SmartThings moving forward with adding things. I think it shows that the platform isn't going anywhere anytime soon, otherwise the Android Auto and Works with Google integration probably wouldn't have happened.
@@BeardedTechGuy Just seems all their integrations have easily redundant work arounds. Hopefully they build it out more adding some of the unique and robust features.
What would you like to see improved on with this Android Auto and Samsung SmartThings integration? Let me know below!
