I love this song and your performance is the best I've ever seen so far. I already put this video in my favorites so I can watch it everyday. Our Brazilian João Pernambuco is really a genius ! Best regards from Brazil.
I am 52 now. I am not a player or a singer professionally but I enjoyed quite a variety of music in my life ranging from tenor, soprano, string instruments from various countries, flutes…. from Luciano Pavarotti to Billie Ellish.. Yo Yo Ma and Kathryn Stott… Lang Lang… and countless others BUT this man hits me badly. Enjoy so much, Sir.
Eu sei, eu sou brasileira, apesar de viver fora do Brasil ha mais de 40 anos. Mas meu pai tocava essa musica quando eu era crianca e ela me faz ficar nostalgica.
I have been playing guitar for most of my childhood and I have never heard a piece I really love and enjoy like this piece. It sounds so fantastic when you play it and makes me want to keep playing. 👍
This video was published 4 days before I was born. Now, after starting classical guitar at 4 and playing since then, I have had a love for this song but could never remember what the name of it was. This video, makes me emotional listening to this song because of the crispness of the piece and the amazing playing. Thank you for this video, I hope to learn this piece soon :)
Many thanks V. I am sure you will play this even better than I if you work on it! Keep it up. Playing the guitar is the best next to love... Good luck! Per-Olov
Thank you Cristi. That is very nice to know! As a classical guitar professor, it is always nice to know I can inspire. I hope you will keep playing the guitar all your life! it's the best! After love and health... Per-Olov
Prezado amigo, espero que tudo esteja bem contigo e continue com esta bênção divina que é a música neste instrumento maravilhoso que é o violão; FELIZ ANO NOVO!
A wonderful rendition of this beautiful piece! João Pernambuco was clearly a most gifted Brazilian composer yet somehow through the guitar the music reminds me of the bells of English churches.
When I was 15 I started playing the electric guitar. Thrash metal, rock, nothing else mattered. Back then, I used to watch your videos while browsing tutorials on youtube. Some time ago, however, the heavy metal evaporated from me. Now I'm 32 years old, time flew by and I still watch your videos. But now to find inspiration and listen to your arrangement. The amplifier turned out to be unnecessary for me, just a beautiful song to work out and my beloved Alhambra 😊 It's great to go through life with a guitar. I salute you Mr. Olov and all good people. Peace and love ✌️ ps yes I know, nobody asked but in a nostalgic way the classical guitar reminds me of you and I wanted to share my story and thank you
Thank you for sharing your story! I am very happy you did and what a great story too! I think many (not all) metal, rock musicians turn to more classical music when they get older. I hear this rather often. And an Alhambra guitar is very nice too! :-9 Please keep playing your guitar(s). All the best from Copenhagen, Per-Olov
Meastro Kindgren, I heard this composition for the first time fifty years ago from master lautier Kubla in Luby near Cheb in the Czech Republic. He played her so beautifully that I fell in love with her. Your speech, I was very pleased. Thanks to you.
Coisa linda. Parabéns pela interpretação. Quero saber como alguém pode inventar algo assim, tão maravilhoso! Viva João Pernambuco. Boa música para nós e sucessos garantidos para a moçada.
Dear Per-Olov Kindgren, you have played "SONS DE CARRILHÕES" wonderfully ! You look like the greatest Brazilian Guitar Players on executing that João Pernambuco's song ! Great Performance ! Congratulations ! Hugs from Art, SAO-SP, Brazil.

I'm from Pernambuco, and it is the first time that i've heard this, and I can tell, this is absolutely wonderful... Thanks for bringing me such joy on this day. Impecable!
This is a great tune for a student to realise the importance of practice with a metronome. It is 2/4 timing and even Per-olov here goes out of time at 1:09 on the lovely little arpeggio/scale bit. Still one of the best interpretations on the Tube.
I have now watched several videos of people performing this, after seeing yours, and none of them come close to the effortless way in which you play this piece. It's absolutely lovely! I only hope I will be as good as you one day :)
The guitar is truly a beautiful Instrument, I've started learning classical guitar recently and am simply in love with this instrument! Hope one day can I play as well as you!
I just found out about you because I'm learning this piece. I can't believe you are uploading videos and playing the guitar for such a long time. I truly appreciate you 🙏🙏💕. Whenever I listen to you play, I feel happy. Keep up the amazing work!
Your rendition is superb. It is smooth, in the right peace which enables us to enjoy every note. Hearing this so beautiful music from João Pernambuco being played by a Swede with such a perfection, for me as a brazilian is very touching. Thanks, Best wishes.
Wow! Amazing playing, and I’m happy to see you’re still well and responding to comments after so many years. I’m still new to guitar, playing mostly Beatles tunes, but this opened my eyes to the beauty of classical. No matter when or where Peo records, the audio quality is always superb. Even in this 240p video, the guitar's voice rings like a bell.
It suits the song bc the name translates to “sounds of the bells”
