The belt was replaced by a gold version of that one in 1993. The red banners had black ends. Scott Steiner was the last guy to hold it before going to WWF. Not sure if it’s true, but he refused to give it back to Bill Watts because he bullied wrestlers. He said in a shoot interview that he had his pit bull guard his gym bag and dared him to try to get the belt back. The gold version was awarded when Orndorff won the tournament in 1993. Note: After looking for a pic online, it’s hard to tell if the newer version was gold or if the nickel oxidized over time.
I always thought it was hard to tell if the second version of this belt was gold or just discolored from all of the handling it went through. Thanks for the facts on this title - love it!
Hey Berg I bought 2 belts a few years ago from WWE and unfortunately we were hit by 3 floods that took our belongings down the river. I've repeatedly contacted the company and was promised multiple times of replacements but to date I've still not received any thing. I really like your videos showing the championships. Keep up these awesome videos.❤
Television Champion was such a win-win, it puffed up the lower mid-card singles performers and it gave non ppv audiences the excitement of seeing a potential title change. Wish WWE would reduce their titles to just World, Intercontinental (mid-card), tag team, women's, and TV. I also think TV should replace cruiserweight.
@@clintsaines9274 Correct, it was incredibly rare for a WWE title to change at a house show (Mountie beating Bret Hart for IC, Bret Hart beating Flair for the World Championship). Did we ever find out what the hell happened with Money Inc beating Legion of Doom? I dont think it ever actually happened
Wow, I'm surprised you actually got it. After watching this video and one of the last tv belt, I said I need to order from this guy. I was going to order all 3 WCW TV belts from him. But first, I ordered a WWF European belt and what a nightmare it has been. THREE months later I'm still waiting. Absolute piss poor communication. It's gotten to the point I've filed a claim with PayPal. Sadly, I'm now gonna look elsewhere for the 3 TV belts.
Wow - this is not typical, at least, not for me. Even the first time I ordered from him I received the belt in the timeline I was told. If he has to make a belt from scratch, it can sometimes take up to 12 weeks and that is not uncommon for any maker. Sorry you're having this experience...
The guy I got it from will make one for you... his info is in the video and in the video description. This is one of my favorite belts that I have in my collection - very well made!
Yeah, the silver/red NWA is a real classic! Personally, I never liked the gold version of this specific title... but that's just me. Cheers - and thanks for watching!
@wadepreston5781 You are right. Stunning Steve debuted the belt without a tip. Not sure when the tip was added, but later photos/videos do include the tip. Good eye!
Wish they would have stuck with this design
I would have been fine by me as well. I do really like the belt that followed this though.
I can't get past how nice the leather looks. Beautiful!
Yeah - this thing was well done!

Dang... sorry to hear of your misfortune. Total bummer.
And thanks for the nice words - I appreciate you watching!

You are spot on!
WWF didn't have a tv title and only really had title changes at ppvs. WCW didn't do that. It made it better week to week wrestling to watch.

@@underwaterlevelz1947 WWF imo was boring until about 97.
@@clintsaines9274 I looked forward to the TV title matches... and back then, the TV was a prestigious title
I loved the wcw world television championship ❤️
definitely one of my favorites! thanks for watching

I always loved that and the 91-93 WCW World Championship.
I just did a video about the '91-'93 World Title. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/S2o02sgyieM/v-deo.html
91-94
Ive loved that design ever since i saw it as a kid. I need that belt.

I was always a fan of this TV title and the 91 WCW World Title. 2 of my favorite belt designs from WCW.
I just did a review on a dual plated 1991-93 WCW World Title... here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/S2o02sgyieM/v-deo.html
I always loved this version
Me too! I had to have it!
This belt brings back so much memories
heck yeah!
Such a beautiful work of art 😢
I love looking at this belt
I like how they emulated the columns on the sides of the plates into the leather around the snap boxes 👍🏼
Yeah... it just has a nice consistent feel to it
I like this belt much more then the last one
There is just something about this belt.....
Yo, why is that belt so damn sexy
Hard to say... but it sure is easy on the eyes
I love this belt
This looks great, although I really loved the NWA one. I have a replica of this one as well as the gold one that came after this.

Fun fact: ROH would follow Austin's lead and base their next TV title belt off of that WCW six man belt.
sweet... I love random belt facts!!
Love it ❤️
Bro! The belt is legit
Yes sir!
The one seen on tv never have a strap tip, but looks better with it on
It definitely had a full tip
Just saw a video of Steiner’s TV title win. The nickel version of that belt in 1992 didn’t have a tip, but the gold one in 1993 onwards did.

i wonder why the 95 belt does not have the regular wcw logo.
Weird right!?!
Make a video on the NWA U.S. title
I'd love to... but I don't have the NWA US Title. That is a beautiful belt though - maybe someday
That is a nice belt. I thought the tag titles looked great as well from that era.
Oddly enough, I've never really liked any version of the WCW Tag Titles. That being said, the NWA tag titles were awesome!
Actually, Barry Windham debuted it. He wore it in a Title rematch against Austin. Austin win it off of him.
Incorrect. Windham was using an old tag title. Austin debuted this version of the title on Aug 1, 1992.
I refer to this belt
As the lord Steven regal
As well you should
