Yes, totally agree, Amouage was the best. However after Christopher Chong left they became less unique and more commercial.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this fragrance house. I only have a dupe of Portrayal by Dua , and I actually wore it today. I enjoyed the combo of jasmine, tobacco and vanilla, so gorgeous. I’m curious about other fragrances in this house and one day I’d love to discover them in actual store since it’s risky to buy these expensive perfumes blindly. The only one I would be brave to buy blind is Lilac Love, because I love the notes that you had described 😍

Amouage is one of my favorite niche brands, a really good and informative Video about the history of the brand 👍🙂 I own 15 full bottles and I love them all, but of course I have my favorites: Interlude Man, Interlude Black Iris Man, Jubilation XXV Man, Reflection Man, Journey Man, Honour Man and Overture Man.
Amouage Memoir Woman is way better as Memoir Man, my wife love it and I like it also very much, but it is not among my favorites.

I'm a woman with an embarrassingly large collection of Amouage fragrances, and I can really sense your style as you describe these -- a style very much like my own. If you haven't already tried them, I would recommend Jubilation 25 and Beloved for you. Both are sensational: very elegant, complex, sophisticated and womanly, and very much in the style of the best Amouages. Thank you for a superb video.

Jubilation 25 was one of them! Daria had recommended it. I'm sorry you didn't love it. Fragrance appreciation is just so subjective, isn't it? I bought Imitation woman blindly 🙃 and I’m not sure if I like it…I think I like it after 1 hour, but not immediately after spray it on my skin. I smell something powdery and incense type of fry down. Not quite sure about this. On the other hand I absolutely love Portrayal, strong perfume but feminine.

Commenting in 2023, I have 7 (Gold/Memoir/Portrayal/Journey/Beloved/Interlude/Guidance - all female bottles) and decants of Epic/Sunshine W/Myths/Honor/Lilac Love/Blossom Love/Love Tuberose.
I’m more a fan of the bombastic and spicy scents - the recent Material/Boundless /Crimson Rocks are gorgeous and I enjoy the lovely Ashore. On my to buy list are Epic/Ubar/Myths/Ashore and some of the discontinued classics.
This style of perfumery works best on my skin as it’s not based around sugary vanilla (my skin devours that note sadly) or gourmands. I’m a fan girl 😍

How do you find the projection of Journey Woman? I heard it doesn't project which doesn't bother me as long as it's with arm's length and something I can enjoy myself.
You can definitely enjoy it yourself during the day. It lasts days on clothes.

Yes, I tried both Interlude men & women. Both are very interesting and complex however I prefer men's version.

Thank you for this informative video. I’m new to Amouage. I currently have 2 that I love, Sunshine Woman and Love Tuberose. But there is one that I have a sample of that confuses me, delights me, has captured me. I’m not sure if I love it or hate it, I spray it at least once a week, because I’m so unsure. It’s Bracken woman. I think I love it, because it’s such a complicated unique, and in my opinion, an odd scent. It’s clean, it’s green, it’s wet, it’s dirty; a mossy floral bomb. I’d love to hear your opinion if you’ve tried it.

I have a decant of Portrayal and I have to say, it's pretty much jasmine and generic white florals in my opinion. I get no cigarette/tobacco smell.
It might be caused by how the juice interact with your skin. I bought 5ml decant, and all I could smell was tobacco. Initially it was off-putting for me. However, when it died down, the smell was so amazing !! Long lasting in my skin (7 hours), but I'm not sure if it has strong projection. More of skin perfume ....

I've never understood the "controversy" surrounding Sunshine Man. I feel like it's one of Amouage's easiest blind buys for anyone with a functioning nose...ok, a bit much, I admit.
But, i sincerely, don't think I would trust any nose who didn't like this fragrance.
